A gift from the town
Anna asked for a oneshot of the people of Storybrooke clubbing together to pay for a holiday for the Charmings because of everything they've done for the town.
Town meetings were never exactly what the Charmings called fun. They understood their importance, but it was hard to stay awake through the duration of one. Especially with some of the trivial issues people could bring up. But as the leaders of the town, they did their best to be respectful towards all such issues. It was always a huge relief when they came to an end.
"Well, it looks like that's about everything." Charming said, beginning to pack up his papers. "Unless anyone has any final issues they wish to address?" He asked.
"Actually, we do, David." Jiminy said standing up. Snow, Charming and Emma's heart sank. This could add ages to this already long meeting. "As we have already discussed at length, the curse to the town line has been down for some time. After several tests and volunteer experimenters, we can confirm that it is safe for the residents of Storybrooke to travel outwith the town to other areas. Bearing that in mind, we think that you, as a family, have been working tirelessly for years to insure the safety of the people here." Jiminy retrieved an envelope from his breast pocket and placed it in front of Charming. "We had a whip round, of sorts. The people of the town would like to thank you as a family for all you have done for us by giving you these vouchers to fly to a selection of major cities in the United States and have a week's stay from a choice of hotels. You have more than earned a break, and we are happy to offer one." Snow, Charming and Emma read through the letter that accompanied the vouchers, touched.
"This is too much." Snow commented.
"No, sister, what you have given up as a family is too much." Grumpy told her. "Go enjoy a vacation." Snow, Charming and Emma all grinned at each other. Looked like they had some planning to do.
