Time to sleep
avc.382 asked for a oneshot of Emma and Elsa having a sleepover every night when she is staying with them during season 4. They do the usual sleepover activities, talking, laughing, not actually doing much sleeping. At some point, Snowing always come up and put a stop to the noise. Snowing enjoy getting to do another parent thing by making them go to sleep for real.
Again, I put a notice saying that FF have screwed up royally somewhere with a notification error. Please feel free to look back and catch up on any chapters you might have missed!
So, yes, I have heard the news. A few people have asked me what this means for my stories and the honest answer is…I don't know. Emma had her walls that she used to keep her safe. OUAT became my walls. My fictional walls that I could hide behind when it all got too much. When I was feeling down, I could give the characters those emotions to help me better understand them myself. Now that those walls are being taken away from me so suddenly at a really crucial/stressful time in my life and I am struggling. I will finish May Muses, and the other project that I promised you, beyond that, tbh, right now this is a period of adjustment for me in learning how to deal with my issues without the Charmings around, and it's gonna be hard. Right now, I don't know what I'm going to do. So, thanks guys, JMAMK.
"Ok, ok, you're going to love this." Emma said, scrolling through the Netflix menu. "It's about these guys who…ah, I'll not spoil it. Just trust me, you'll find it hilarious." Elsa eagerly awaited the new show. Emma had been right about the rest of them thus far.
Meanwhile, downstairs, Charming placed a pillow over his head to try and block out the laughter. Both he and Snow were glad Emma had a friend she could confide in, but the late nights were killing Snow and Charming. Neal would be up in just a few hours. Plus, Emma and Elsa weren't doing too well with them either. With the amount of things they had to do to find Elsa's sister and deal with Ingrid, there were a lot of long days involved. The girls weren't functioning properly on so little sleep, but they didn't seem to be learning their lesson and would repeat themselves the next night. Snow and Charming had been trying for the last few days to curb the habit.
"It's your turn." Charming mumbled from under his pillow. Snow sighed, sitting up and putting her slippers on. He was right, it was. The pair had been taking it in turns to go up to Emma's room and ask the girls to quieten down, and maybe consider going to sleep.
Emma poked her head round the door, to find the pair in stitches over something on the TV.
"Ladies, it's late." Snow reminded them gently. Emma looked at her mom apologetically, although it was clear she was still holding in her sniggers.
"Sorry mom." Emma said, we'll try to keep it down." Snow frowned, they'd heard that line before. Just then, someone else came up the stairs.
"Elsa, I just realised you didn't have your water." Charming said, coming into the room and placing the glass on the bedside table.
"The girls said they'll try to keep it down." Snow said. Charming felt the same way as Snow. They'd heard that before. He looked at Snow, an idea forming. Snow understood. She nodded. It was worth a shot.
"How about this instead girls," Charming said, grabbing the remote and turning the TV off "how about a story?" He offered. Elsa looked politely interested. Emma looked amused.
"Dad, don't you think we're a little old for bedtime stories?" She asked. Charming shook his head, sitting at the end of her bed.
"Not at all. Nobody is too old for a bedtime story." He told her. Snow came in and sat beside Charming. "And I think we have just the one." He said, winking at Snow. Together, they weaved their way through one of their many adventures in the Enchanted Forest. By the time they had finished, both Emma and Elsa were asleep.
"Well, I hope this isn't through boredom." Snow whispered. Charming laughed quietly.
"Well, either way, we gave our daughter a bedtime story, and she fell asleep." Charming pointed out. Snow smiled. She had been proud of the moment as well.
"Come on." She whispered, pulling Charming to his feet. "Let's try and get some sleep ourselves before her baby brother wakes up." So Snow and Charming left Emma's room, each with one last glance back at their sleeping daughter. Yeah, parent win.
