Chapter 60
Time passed and even though Olivia and Amanda were in love with each other more than ever, things were still not great for Amanda's well being. She was still shell shocked and wouldn't stay home alone. The last setback really messed with her head. Olivia pushed, but not too much. She had someone check her mom's address and everything, but Amanda wasn't budging. She made Olivia promise to wake her up every time to go with her. Amanda even slept in clothes when Liv was on call. Olivia knew it wasn't healthy. She got a call around 1:00 and woke Amanda up, "Baby they're gone, it's okay. Why don't you stay here and rest, I can even call Melinda?" Amanda grabbed her and refused to let go, "Okay come on." This was how every night call went since that day in November and now it was February.
Amanda was now back in therapy every week and took self defense classes, even the girls joined to make her feel better. Olivia didn't feel like they were getting anywhere. She didn't care that she came with her, but she knew it wasn't normal, and wanted her to be better. Valentine's Day was next week and Olivia had to call Kat just so she could get Amanda a gift. "Hey thanks for coming to get her, I love her, but I can't even plan our day and pick up her gift." Kat sighed, "Liv we have to break her from this." Olivia looked at Kat, "Don't push her Kat, because if something happens I don't want it on you. You could talk to her though." Kat and Amanda left the squad.
"Kat why did you come get me. I don't like leaving Liv." Kat called a cab, "Well one you don't spend anytime with me anymore. Two, we need to get gifts, Valentine's Day is coming. Did you even get Liv anything?" Amanda hung her head, "You think I'm weird, because I won't leave Liv." Kat sat in the cab and looked at Amanda, "Okay kid spill it!" Amanda looked at Kat, "I don't want Liv to be a cop anymore. I don't want you to be a cop either." Kat was confused, "Amanda really! Why? Liv loves her job and she helps so many people. She helped me and you. And Amanda I want to follow behind her." Amanda folded her arms, "It's too dangerous." Kat kept waiting for her to say it. "Nick got shot last month. You should have seen the bruise on him. I thought the vest was for protection. It was bad Kat, what if he wasn't even wearing it."
Now Kat got it. "Amanda, she's gonna be a cop and sometimes she's even gonna get hurt, but if I know Liv she will fight to come home to you. You want my advice, tell her how you feel, tell her you're scared, but don't ask her to quit what she loves." Amanda looked like she was contemplating whether to listen to her or not. "Amanda I'm serious, Liv loves you and she would give it up tomorrow if you asked. Don't do that to her after all she's done for you." Kat pulled Amanda from the cab, "Now let's get our lovers some chocolate."
Olivia didn't know what Kat told Amanda, but ever since that talk, she only went to work with her during the day. She was called a few nights ago and when she woke her up, Amanda told her to go and be safe. Olivia just hoped she wasn't scared to be alone, but when she got home, Amanda was sleeping peacefully. Olivia could only hope this was a new beginning.
