Bad behaviour

This was quite hard for me to write, as it isn't the sort of thing I agree in, but I'm doing my best to write everything for May Muses. If you don't spanking, then skip this chapter.
Aw, thanks 3. It always makes me feel weird when people say they're a fan of me. I'm just a girl from Scotland. I ain't nothing special lol.
Emma struggled with having parents now, sometimes. Going from being the boss of herself with nobody else to look out for, to suddenly having two parents with her best interests at heart could be tricky. Add into that that Emma discovered she had new magical powers and Emma thought she was pretty untouchable. That was until her dad got sick fed up of her arguing with them and refusing to listen when they tried to tell her something was too dangerous. Eventually, he decided to take action and remind her of who the parents were. One swift spank and Emma quickly learned her place. When her dad was around, she didn't dare argue or show her stubborn side. However, when her dad was away and it was just her and her mother, that was a completely different story. Such as when Snow was telling Emma that going and checking out a collapse in the mines before it had been deemed stable was not safe.
"Anyone could still be trapped down there!" Emma was trying to point out. "Dad's busy dealing with fieldwork. Are you suggesting that the other sheriff in the town just leave people to suffocate to death?" Emma asked.
"Emma, you know perfectly well I'm suggesting nothing of the sort." Snow snapped. "The fire department are working on making the area secure. It is there job to check for people who are trapped, not yours." Snow told her. Emma rolled her eyes. Snow's eyebrows just about hit the roof. She was not going to accept this cheek.
"At the end of the day, we both know you don't have the authority to tell me what to do." Emma said coolly. "I'm not scared of you." Emma went to talk out the door. Snow stormed over and grabbed her by the upper arm. She didn't want her daughter to be scared of her, neither Snow or Charming did. But a healthy level of respect was definitely needed. Snow understood what Emma was saying though. She was prepared to listen to her father more after the spanking incident. Well, Snow would show her that her father wasn't the only one she should have that level of respect for. With one hand still holding onto Emma, Snow used her other arm to swiftly swat the back of Emma's legs. Emma gasped. It took a moment for the sting to set in. It certainly stung more than her dad's one had. Emma felt tears build up in her eyes, more from shock than anything else. Snow let Emma go. She felt bad now. She hadn't meant to let her temper get the better of her like that. Emma quickly made her way up to her room. Snow didn't follow her. She understood that Emma needed some space. Heck, Snow did too.
Emma didn't come down until much later that evening. She didn't even come down for dinner. It was only about eight pm that Emma eventually felt like she could come down.
"Maybe I was being a bit rash." Emma said quietly. Snow understood that was Emma's way of an apology. Snow nodded.
"Maybe we both were." Snow told her. Emma nodded, rubbing her right hand up and down her left arm.
"I just…I'm not used to having people tell me when I'm being stupid." Emma said. "I'm not used to people caring about my safety." Snow and Charming both got up. They created a group hug with her.
"I'm just going to have to tell you to keep getting used to it, aren't I?" Snow sighed. Emma didn't respond, she just enjoyed the hug. She was glad she had two parents now who cared this much, even if it could be awkward at times.
