Chapter 62

Once Amanda and Olivia talked about her job Amanda backed off. She was still scared something could happen, but she understood this was Liv's life and career. She still went to work with her during the day, but that's it. Amanda was busy anyway, she was trying to balance her school work and writing college papers for money. The last week of February and first week of March were her busiest times, it was when midterm papers were due. Amanda made 500 dollars a paper and she wrote at least one a day for two weeks. She made five thousand dollars in two weeks.

She was in the squad room waiting for Liv when she received a message from her Cashapp.

From @MoniqueJeff: @MandaR you're done I got a C on my midterm paper. I paid you five dollars. WTF BITCH! Do you know what that will do to my grade?

From @MandaR: @MoniqueJeff I'm gonna need proof you got a C. I've never gotten anything below a B.(Amanda couldn't believe she got a C paper) If you're telling the truth I will refund half, but it's not a F.

From @MonquieJeff: @MandaR you've written papers around Hudson and I'll find out who you are. Refund half? I didn't pay you for a C paper.

Amanda just stopped talking, she needed to go to Hudson, find the girl, and talk face to face. She knew the building, teacher, and room number because it was information she had to include on the cover sheet.

On the way home Amanda thought about what to tell Olivia. Tomorrow was Friday and she needed to deal with this before the weekend came. They ate dinner, cleaned the kitchen, showered, and watched TV. "Hey Liv can I stay home tomorrow?" Olivia felt Amanda's forehead, "Why are you sick? You never stay home during the day and I'm not working at night." Amanda thought hard about what to say. "I'm not sick." She couldn't say she was going to Hudson because it would be a no. She couldn't use Kat, because she always met Melinda at work, which was a block away, plus she might call her and Kat told her to stop writing papers a long time ago. "Well I'm going to the school building tomorrow, talk face to face with my counselor. I'm almost at the end Liv." Amanda lied and lied big and she knew this was one of Liv's big rules.

The next morning Olivia woke Amanda up at regular time. She wanted to see her up and moving. Something didn't seem right, but Olivia always tried to trust her, "Amanda what time are you leaving?" Amanda ate her eggs and bacon, "9:30." Olivia went over what she wanted for the day, "Okay, I want some schoolwork done before you go, text me when you get there, and when you're done I want you at the squad room." Amanda stopped dead in her tracks and Olivia noticed. "Liv, why do I need to come to the squad room?" This wasn't working out, Hudson, her school, and the squad room were all in different directions. She couldn't possibly text her from one place and make it to another in time. "Amanda why is it a problem? Is there something you aren't telling me?" Amanda had to play it cool, "No Liv I just won't have my laptop with me, so I was coming back here to work." Olivia thought wow if she's lying she's going pretty far. "Okay, well I figured we could do dinner out if you were with me, but I'll bring something in." Olivia left reminding her of what she said.

As soon as Olivia left, Amanda left. Olivia's rules through a wrench in her plan. She needed to get there, find this girl, and settle it before anything got out of hand. Amanda was looking at her phone and saw the building she needed, Amanda had no luck on her side today, right when she was walking in, Kat was walking out. "Amanda? What are you doing here?" Amanda was shocked. This wasn't Liv and she had no excuse to be at Hudson, but lied to her too, "I came looking for you." Kat folded arms, "You know what? Olivia needs to stop playing with you and tear your ass up real good and maybe you'll stop lying. You didn't come looking for me, because normally you are with her and in 30 more minutes, I would have been a block away." Amanda stood there not talking, "Fine I'll call her now." Amanda grabbed her arm, "Okay! Don't! I'm in trouble."

Instead of explaining Amanda just handed Kat her phone to read the messages. Kat's face went from shocked to pissed. Kat was kind of like Liv but had less patience and more rough around the edges. She grabbed Amanda by the coat and pulled her in an empty bathroom, "I told you to cut this shit out. You lied to me, you've been lying to Olivia, and I bet you she doesn't know you're here." Amanda was pleading with her, Please Kat don't tell her. Please help me." Kat was pissed, "Let's go! You will give this girl double her money back." Amanda stopped, "I don't…." When she saw Kat's face she just shut up. They walked to the classroom and Kat asked a friend to help, "Hey Kim? You're in this class right? Do you know who Monique is?" Kim pointed to the 3rd row, "She's right there, but she's bitch." Kat squinted, "Thanks Kim. Hey don't say anything ok?" Kim laughed, "Don't worry. See ya Kat." Kat pulled Amanda away from the door. Amanda was confused, "Uhhhhh Kat? Why are we leaving? We need to talk to her."

Kat didn't say a word, she was walking and pulling Amanda out of the building. She called an Uber. It was the fastest way to Melinda. She finally talked, "You know when I tell your ass to do something you better do it. This is unbelievable. Give me your fucking phone!" Amanda was lost and Kat just texted. The Uber pulled up and they got in, "Kat what the hell is going on?" Kat finished the message and sent it to Monique. She threatened her to leave her little sister alone and she was a true dumbass for letting a high school kid write a midterm paper. "Kat what the hell I'm not a high school kid." Kat shook her head, "Well she doesn't know that and I hope the message works, because that bitch in there was the same bitch that jumped us outside the club." Amanda's face lost all its color.
