The recorder
A guest asked for a oneshot of *6x20 spoilers!* Henry letting Snowing hear the tape of Emma singing as a child. They talk to her about it.
"Play it again." Snow breathed. Henry replayed the small clip of Emma's singing the little tune. Snow and Charming were captivated by it. They had heard it over a hundred times now, but they were nowhere near done.
Henry had first shared with them the extra page from the storybook, showing the missing memories from Snow's wish upon a star. Snow and Charming couldn't believe it. They had been with Emma throughout her childhood. Through everything that happened, their song was carried inside her heart. Yes, it wasn't the same as being able to raise their daughter themselves, but it was something. Snow took up the recorder gently. She looked at it lovingly and then at Charming.
"We were with her." Charming said, taking Snow's free hand. "We were with her!" Snow nodded. Just then, someone came through the door.
"Hey guys. Henry, come on, Killian is waiting to give you a sailing lesson." Emma said, popping her head through the door. She saw the recorder in her mom's hands. She went bright pink. "Ah, Henry let you hear that?" She assumed correctly. Snow and Charming nodded enthusiastically.
"Your voice is beautiful." Snow said. Charming came over and kissed Emma's forehead.
"We get what you meant when you said we were with you now." Charming explained. "Henry showed us the extra page." Emma beamed up at him.
"That song got me through some tough times." Emma told them both. "I'm extra glad now to hear that it was you two getting me through them." Emma told them. Charming pulled Emma back into his arms. They were glad to hear it too.
