May muses 10: Baby? EF
Day 10 of May Muses! My idea for today: what if the Charmings were discussing having another child if there had been no curse? Most of you are familiar with my OCs in regards to the Charming brood. For those that aren't, after Emma and Neal, follow Rosie and then Christopher and Michael if I'm writing in the EF. So, this will be set a few months after Rosie's birth.
"They're always so little at first." Snow sighed down at her baby girl snoozing peacefully in her arms. She was already five months old. How had time passed so quickly? She couldn't believe Neal was already beginning potty training and Emma would be four in a few months. How were her babies all getting so big?
"Yeah." Charming agreed, stroking his finger against Rosie's cheek. "She'll be crawling soon." Charming pointed out. Snow grimaced.
"Don't remind me." She groaned. She peered down at Rosie. "You're not allowed to grow up, you hear? None of you should be." Snow sighed, leaning back against Charming. He was right. Rosie wasn't a little baby anymore. She would be moving around by herself soon. Snow of course loved her children whatever age they were. But there was something special about the bond when they were so tiny and fragile. She always missed it when it was gone. Snow peered up at Charming through sad eyes.
"Charming…" She said subtly. Charming looked down at her. He groaned. He knew that look. He might only have seen it twice, but he knew Snow's "let's have another baby" look as well as the rest of them. He sighed.
"Snow, surely you don't want to have another baby so soon? You only had Rosie five months ago." He reminded her.
"Emma was only four months when we fell pregnant with Neal." Snow reminded him.
"Yes, we only had one child to look after then. Now we've got three! I'm not saying no, Snow. I love having babies with you. I love the glow you have when you're pregnant. I love the feeling of knowing the most beautiful woman ever is carrying our baby, a perfect combination of us both, but I just don't want to put your body through lots of stress." Snow put her hand on Charming's face.
"You let me worry about that." She said. "I can handle it." Charming could see Snow really wanted this. He couldn't deny her anything she wanted.
"Well, I suppose one more won't hurt…" Charming wasn't able to say anymore before Snow's lips were crashing against his. He smiled against her kiss.
"Maybe a bit early to start trying, given present company?" He joked. Snow laughed.
"I'll ask Red to babysit tomorrow. She owes me one." Snow told him. Charming grinned. He liked that idea, he liked it a lot.
