Author's Note: So we're a tad late, writer's block hot me hard these past few days. And I got sick from something I ate. At least I think I did, in any case I wasn't feeling right. But we're here and it's time for the semi finals. On another note, I've finally come up with the teams for next season and a general outline of eliminations. But for now, let's get to the penultimate episode of season eight.
Disclaimer: I don't own Total Drama, the shuffled concept or the (most of) the characters.
And to answer some reviews:
LazloVader9943: Like I said, it was a bit of a necessity, but I'm glad I was able to make it as shocking as possible.
TheChrisanthemum: Thanks for your words, I'm disappointed that I ruined the season for you, and will admit that you have a point. But hopefully the last two episodes can restore your opinion.
Tempokeep: Having Topher being defeated by his own ego was one of my favorite things to write this season. Maybe the whole series. Glad you like the challenge, but Courtney never made any references that I'm aware of. Unless you mean the chart.
KryptonianKnight: Topher's defeat is one of my favorite parts of the season, but now I'm worried about living up to and possibly having to top it with Scot and [REDACTED] for the next two seasons. The simple fact that people want Courtney to win makes me glad, it means I did an excellent job keeping my bias out of the fic.
LittleMermaid: To be fair, no one predicted Topher going home. Wow, I really am the only person who didn't hate the chart form canon aren't I? I'm so glad you liked Olivia's portion of the talent show, I was really worried it would be weak. It was actually a last minute thing because I had no idea what to do with her there. It'll probably not be mentioned in the fic proper, but Olivia told Contessa about Mexico when they came up with their plan. I can confirm that there will be no attempt to cause friction between finalists and any other person. Make of that what you will.
Derick Lindsey: I can't say I blame you. If I wasn't the writer, I wouldn't have guessed Topher getting the boot. Glad you like that litte attack on canon all-stars. And what I said about Topher absolutely was a hint. One that I knew you wouldn't pick up on because I'm an evil, evil man.
OmnipotentAbsoluteUIGodzilla: That's how it works for Total Drama villains. they're really lucky, until they're not. I mean if Topher had honestly thought more about it, he'd realize that his schemes succeed way too easily. Unfortunately, he's a bit of a narcissist and couldn't really fathom the idea that he was being tricked. And if you pay close attention, you can see the idea occur to him before he tosses it aside. Also, no way was I breaking up Olivessa. Even if I was the type to bust up my couples, it'd be over something a bit less flimsy than that. I'm not a writer for Ben 10
Gucci Mane LaFlare: Thanks. I'm really glad with what I was able to do with Topher. And in his defense, everyone would think Geoff is dumber than he actually is.
Remaining All-Stars:
Boys: Geoff
Girls: Contessa, Courtney, Olivia

Episode 12: The Lost Island of Wawanakwa
"Last time, on Total Drama All-Stars 2!" The montage began with Contessa watching as Olivia woke up, followed by the two chatting. "Contessa and Olivia spent some time talking strategy."
"But they weren't the only people with a plan," the host continued over footage of Topher giving Geoff a false chart, and lying about Olivia's deception, "because Topher pulled out all the stops to ruin the two alliances."
"When it was challenge time in Casablanca," Courtney's performance in the talent show was shown, "Courtney and Geoff proved to be the most talented of them all," Geoff's skating stunts were shown. "And a trek through the desert tested the depths if everyone's patience," he added over clips of everyone's dealings in the second challenge.
"In the end, Topher's amazing strategy became an amazing flop when everyone voted for him," Chris explained over a clip of the Olivia and Contessa revealing their scheme, followed by Geoff revealing that he never believed Topher's chart. "And so it was that Topher was left out of the Final Four," the instigator's Toss was shown.
"Think we've reached the end of the drama?" Chris asked with a mischievous smirk as the scene cut to him and Chef in the plane's cockpit. "Then you must not know me very well." He chuckled. "Find out who makes it to the end here! on Total! Drama! All-Stars! 2!

[The sequence opens exactly as it did in season three, with a tilted shot of a stagelight swinging up and turning on in front of an airport control tower, followed by another light popping out of an overhead compartment along with a pair of oxygen masks; then a camera forcibly ejecting a raccoon from a wing engine and another camera bursting out of a suitcase, sending undergarments flying. A pair of white-skinned arms clap a film slate in front of the camera, which then flies down the aisle of first class seats. It passes a drink cart, then forces Chris McLean to jump to the side as the camera flies into the cockpit.]
Dear Mom and Dad, I'm doin' fine;
[Chef Hatchet is piloting the plane in its cockpit, bobbleheads of himself and the host sitting on the control panel. For a single frame he turns his head and glares at the camera before it passes through the windshield and out onto the runway, the silhouette of the CN Tower visible in the distance as the camera flies over and through several baggage tugs.]
You guys are on my mind!
[Fading through the whiteness of a baggage cart, the camera emerges close to the CN Tower. The camera flies up along it, the sun shining bright at its peak. The scene arcs downward towards a lake, and speeds forward into it with a splash.]
Ya asked me what I wanted to be,
[The bubbles from the splash fade to show Owen floating underwater seemingly naked. He notices his swim trunks float past him and covers his crotch with a blush on his face, and the camera pans up to the surface.]
And now I think the answer is plain to see!
[On the roof of the cabin of a boat woven from reeds, Dawn is meditating in lotus position.]
I wanna be...famous!
[The camera pans down and to the right to where Olivia is frantically paddling the boat as crocodiles leap out of the water on either side and snap their jaws. The boat leaves the screen, and on 'be' one of the reptiles winces; the camera moves back to the boat, revealing that it had crashed into an inflatable raft that Contessa was standing on. The raft begins to sink, and Olivia quickly grabs her into a fierce hug. The two girls blush and separate just as quickly.]
I wanna live close to the sun!
[The camera flashes to the a snow-capped mountain, immediately cutting to the top it as Brick climbs up from the side, then wipes the sweat from his brow as he helps Courtney reach the summit.]
Well pack your bags, 'cause I've already won!
[The couple stop with shock on their faces as Izzy suddenly runs past. The wildcard blindly runs straight into Jasmine, and the two tumble off the other side of the mountain.]
Everythin' to prove,
[The camera quick-pans to Mitch standing in an open field on Pahkitew Island. He catches Jasmine in his arms and gently sets her down, and she kisses him on the cheek as Izzy lands on the ground behind them.]
Nothin' in my way; I'll get there one day.
[Another pan to the right shows Topher watching with a devious expression. He rubs his hands in anticipation, only for a furry paw to quickly tap him on the shoulder. The camera pans to Scuba Bear glaring at the instigator, who promptly runs away. On the bear's other side, Terrance begins to laugh...]
'Cause I wanna be...famous!
[...Scuba Bear then turns to glare at Terrance instead, even roaring at the boy and chasing him off. The camera zooms in on a mountain in the background, and flashes over to Geoff and Katie walking down the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The party dude turns to the right and screams and the two run away, a large number of fans chasing them away.]
(Na-na nanananaa, nanana-nanaa, na-nananananaa)
[Justin and B were next, the genius driving a speedboat and the model waterskiing behind him. They speed up and out of frame and the camera shakes for a moment. The shot pans to the right to show that the boys had ran into another speedboat driven by Sasquatchanakwa, Justin now face-down in his and B's boat. The yeti makes a hand gesture that had to be censored and the camera pans up to the sky.]
I wanna be! I wanna be! I wanna be famous! (Na-na nanananaa, nanana-nanaa, na-nananananaa)
[The jet flies right past a Mayan pyramid, causing whole structure to fall apart; the jet flies over Cristo Redentor in Rio de Janero, startling a priest into crossing himself; the jet flies trough the air and the camera pans down.]
I wanna be! I wanna be! I wanna be famous! (Na-na nanananaa, nanana-nanaa, na-nananananaa)
[The pan ends on a zoomed out shot of the swim-dressed all-stars lined up on eight platforms according to their teams – the villains holding red dueling sticks on the left of each platform, the heroes holding gold dueling sticks on the right. The camera zooms in and moves between them as they clash – smirking Courtney against smirking Brick; smug Topher being shoved in the water by a smiling Mitch; vain Justin holding off a confused Owen with one hand as he admired his own reflection in a hand mirror; Geoff thrusting eagerly but being easily blocked by an unimpressed Jasmine; Katie smirking darkly as she easily knocked Dawn into the water; Olivia being knocked away by a maniacally grinning Izzy; Terrance evenly matched with B, both boys smirking competitively; and Rebecca evilly smirking as she slammed her stick against a terrified Contessa, the top pieces of the padding suddenly catching fire and making both girls look up in surprise.]
[The lyrics end and a guitar is strummed as the camera zooms in on the two flames as they flare together, and the last few whistling notes play. The fires peter out to show the cast lined up and most of them smiling at the camera, the jet behind them. Mitch is on the far left end; to the right are Jasmine, B, Owen, Terrance, Geoff, Justin, Topher and Rebecca. In front of them are Dawn, Olivia, Contessa, Katie, Courtney, and Brick. Rebecca has her back turned to the camera as the song ends, spray-painting a '2' at the end of the 'Total Drama All-Stars' logo on the side of the jet, then turns and winks at the camera.]

A lilting tune began as the episode opened the Jumbo Jet in flight but the tune soon turned plodding
\
The music continued as the scene flashed to Courtney first class. She was sleeping peacefully in what looked like a bed, but the sound of footsteps caused her to stir. She blearily opened her eyes and yawned and rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and the camera pulled back to show Geoff walking by with some sort of meat on a skewer.
"Ugh, do you have any idea what time it is?" she grumbled to Geoff.
"Just thought I'd get you breakfast," Geoff commented as he sat down across from his ally. "Last time I do somethin' nice for you."
"It's the first time you've done something nice for me," Courtney deadpanned.
"Why are you such a witch?" Geoff grunted.
Courtney took a deep breath and gave him a pleasant smile. "We're not getting anywhere like this," she said. "We have to work together if we want a chance to make it to the finale."
Geoff raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, I know that," he said offering a hand. "So can you cool it with the attitude?"
Courtney rolled her eyes, but shook the hand nonetheless.
XXX
"I still stand by my vote yesterday," Courtney told the confessional, "even if it lets Olivia and Contessa in the semifinals. Topher couldn't be trusted, there was no guarantee Geoff would stay at my side if Olivia was gone, and no way would Contessa help me after that. This way I clear ally."
"If only I paid more attention to Topher early on," she complained. "I'd then have an ally I actually liked."
XXX
Geoff let out a long sigh, then raised his hands in the air. "Woo-hoo!" he cheered. "Final Four! Woo!" He brought his arms down. "I can totally do this. This proves I could've gone all the way back in season six if Chris hadn't screwed me over."
He smiled. "Just three more people to go."
XXX
Another lilting tune played as the scene moved to Contessa and Olivia sitting in economy class and leaning against each other. "Are you ready for today?" Olivia asked Contessa with a wary smile.
"Yep," Contessa smiled back. "But also," the smile faltered, "not at all. I've never made it this far. I don't know what to expect."
"No one can expect what comes out of Chris's crazy mind," the actress sighed. "Look at last year for an example."
"I do know one thing though," Contessa told her. "Whatever it is, we can handle it together."
"Together," Olivia agreed.
XXX
"Honestly, I didn't think I'd make it this far again," Olivia confessed. "But now that I'm here, I'm going to win. I don't care what Chris has in store for us. "Me and Tessa are going to the finale together."
"I finally have a good reason to win and I'm extra motivated not to repeat last time."
XXX
"I'm in the Final Four," Contessa sighed. "I honestly can't believe it. I mean, I agreed to do the new season, but I never really thought..." she paused. "I just kinda assumed people would ditch me as soon as they could, especially after the mistakes I made early on. Again really sorry Mitch."
"But here I am, the semi-finals. And the most problematic person in the game is gone so it should be smooth sailing. I just hope that the sailing's for me and Liv."
XXX
The season's world map was shown, the plane icon flying west from northwestern Africa to northern Ontario.
"Get reeeeeeeaaaaady All-Stars!" Chris's voice came over the loud speaker as the camera flashe dto a close-up of the on in economy class. "We're about to reach our penultimate destination of the season!"
\
A flash took the scene to a familiar skull-shaped rock, then flashed to a gloomy looking beach. Chris stood up in a speedboat driven by Chef next to four canoes and the Final Four stood on the beach itself.
"Welcome," Chris greeted, "to Boney Island. A place that needs no introduction. You should all be proud you managed to make it this far in the game," he told them. "However, it's all downhill from here."
"Let me guess," Courtney said with a scowl as she crossed her arms, "you're gonna toss us to mutants again."
"Nope," Chris answered with a smile. "Your challenge actually isn't on Boney Island," he explained. "It's on Wawanakwa Island."
"You mean the island you sank?" Contessa asked. "Twice?"
"Hey, the second time was due to poor quality in the resurfacing," Chris said sternly before he resumed his usual demeanor. "Now, today's challenge is called 'Deep Dive'," he explained, slowly spreading his hands in a revelatory fashion.
"Just get on with it!" Olivia shouted, throwing her arms up in frustration.
Chris sighed in annoyance. "The rules are simple," he continued in a put-upon tone. "Somewhere on the sunken island, there's an invincibility statue," he explained with a point to where the main island used to be, the camera quickly cutting to show the underwater mess hall and a school of fish swimming out of it before cutting back to the beach. "First one to bring it to me gets to decide who goes to the finale with them. Chef," he said, turning to the right as his assistant stepped forward with an armful of diving suits. He tossed them at the campers and they all landed on the ground with a heavy thud as the Final Four immediately began to talk all at once, their tone questioning but their words indistinguishable.
They were cut off by a blast from Chris' airhorn. "Go!" he commanded, and a fast-paced challenge tune began as the four raced to the canoes– Courtney and Olivia out front, then Geoff and Contessa in the rear.
Then the music cut out abruptly as the shot returned to Chris and Chef, and the host sighed happily. "You know, I don't say this much but I really like this year's cast. Lotta good moments, They really blended together well."
"Yeah, I get what you mean," Chef replied with a smile.
"You know me better than anyone buddy," Chris smirked. He took a deep breath in through his nose, then added "Alright, let's make them miserable." He pulled out his remote control and pressed the button, an ominous riff playing as the camera cut to the interns underwater next to a large crate. The door opened, and a trio of sharks and Fang swam past the humans.
A grand tune began to play as the shot focused in on Contessa hopping into a canoe as Olivia pushed it into the water. Once the task was done, she joined her girlfriend and the two paddled off.
"Hey!" Courtney complained. "You can't team up! Chris left us four canoes!"
A tap on her shoulder caught her attention, and the camera pulled back to show Geoff raising an eyebrow at her. "Chris never said we couldn't team up," the party dude said. "And since the winner choses the Final Two, it's probably be better if we work together."
Courtney rolled her eyes. "Fine," she agreed tersely before leaning down and helping her ally get one of the canoes into the water.
XXX
"Let it go Courtney," the prep told herself in the confessional. "You may hate him, but you two can work well together. It's necessary to get to the finale."
XXX
"I don't know if Chris meant to give us free reign over how to do this challenge," Olivia said with a broad smile, "but he might as well have handed me and Tessa the million along with it. We're a far better team than Geoff and Courtney and even if they find the statue first, they'll be so busy arguing over it that we can just steal it from them."
XXX
The music turned tense as Olivia and Contessa arrived at a seemingly empty expanse of water. The actress looked around and shrugged. "I think this is where the island was," she told her girlfriend. "So let's suit up and start looking."
"We should probably discuss where we're looking first," Contessa said, a shark fin swimming by just behind them that neither girl noticed. "And we should probably worry about whatever sick twist Chris added this time," she looked Olivia and smiled fondly. "...and the others, too," she added after thinking a little. "Hey, speaking of. Have you seen them since the challenge started?"
Olivia, her hand on her mouth in thought, looked up at her. "Hmm? Oh, no, I wasn't really paying attention to them. Courtney's a bit of a control freak though. So she's probably got a plan."
She resumed her puzzled look, and Contessa frowned. "Is something wrong?" she asked.
"It's probably nothing," she answered. "I just have an odd feeling about the challenge. The winner gets to choose the Final Two. That just seems out of character for McLean. It's obvious who would pick who."
"Hey," Contessa said with a hand on Olivia's shoulder. "Let's not think about that right now. Geoff and Courtney could already be down there by now."
XXX
"Like I said," Olivia confessed. "After that unwelcome surprise last season, I'm really trying to figure out what's going on in that ridiculous host's head. I don't want any surprises keeping me and Tessa out of the finale."
XXX
Courtney and Geoff were shown paddling their canoe when the challenge footage resumed. "Okay," Courtney said mostly to herself. "I think this is the place."
"So," Geoff asked after a moment's pause. "How should we do this?"
"I don't know," Courtney admitted. "I've never been on this island. I wouldn't even know where to look."
The party dude brought his fingers to his chin. "Whatever we do we should probably split up," he suggested. "So we can cover more ground."
"Good idea," Courtney told him. "We're going to need every advantage we can get."
\
The footage skipped ahead a bit to both teens, wearing their diving gear, underwater with the bottom of their canoe visible behind them. They looked down, and the camera followed their gave to show they were just above the former main lodge.
Geoff pointed to the left and then the right, and Courtney nodded her agreement. The both swam off in different directions and the camera followed Courtney to th cabin that had once belonged to the Bass, Maggots, and Warriors. The door was wide open, and she swam inside.
A few deep notes played as she searched the girls' side of the building. She swam over to the armoire and the music spiked as a shark burst out of it and roared. She screamed and swam away, the shark giving chase.
XXX
"SERIOUSLY?!" Courtney complained with wide eyes.
XXX
"If I were a small statue of Chris's head, where would I be?" Contessa asked herself, swimming up to the mine entrance in her distraction. Finally looking forward again she let out a surprised noise and then a thoughtful hum. "Good as place as any," she said, attempting to wipe the sweat from her brow as she stayed in place. "The radiation's gotta be gone by now right?"
She paused a second, blinked, then looked down at the entrance. "On second thought, that seems like a really bad idea." The shot cut to the entrance as Fang swam out of it, then back to Contessa as she pondered. She absentmindedly swam a bit back the way she'd come, then turned back towards the mine and rubbed her chin. "So where to check next?"
As she rubbed her chin in thought, the shot zoomed outward with a short dramatic tune to show that Fang was right behind her.
"Hmm...Liv played the idol last year," she reasoned, unaware of the the grinning mutant who was rolling his eyes at her obliviousness, "So she gave it to Chris. I should check the production camp!" she declared in realization, perking up and extending a finger as the shark tapped on her shoulder to gain her attention. "Liv? Is that you?" she asked before looking over her shoulder to see the shark mockingly waving at her and stiffening in alarm at the sight.
"Not Liv!" she cried out in panic before swimming away, Fang gleefully giving chase.
\
The music became tense and fast-paced again as the scene flashed to Geoff, swimming along at a steady pace and startling a school of fish in his wake. He seemed too focused on looking around to notice, however, and one of the fish stayed behind to make a pixelated gesture with its fin before rejoining its brethren. Geoff never saw it, and eventually made it to the former campfire pit.
"Where is it?" he asked, searching around the oil drum Chris had once used as a podium. "I would've bet money it was around here!"
A scream caught his attention moments later, and his brow shot up in surprise as Contessa suddenly bolted out into the open, flailing her arms in a vain attempt to scare the mutant shark that was swimming behind her.
"Go away!" she told him. "I'm not on the menu!"
Geoff watched in silence as she swam right past him and the camera followed her as she swam into something large and pink that made a fleshy thud when she collided with it. The camera pulled back as she did to catch the giant mutant octopus from season four glaring at her, and the music became even faster and more intense as she screamed and swam away again.
The camera lingered long enough to catch Fang looking at the hopeless romantic in confusion, somehow not noticing the large cephalopod that caused her to flee. The octopus grabbed Fang with a tentacle and yanked him offscreen with a roar.
Geoff returned to focus as he watched the whole scene with a blank confusion that turned into mild panic when he noticed that Contessa was about to swim into him in her blind panic. "Whoa!" he said loud enough to get her attention.
Contessa stopped, and blinked before letting out a laugh and smiling. "Geoff!" She cried as she hugged the surprised party dude. "I'm so glad to see a friendly face! There are a bunch of mutants down here!"
"I noticed," Geoff replied with a hint of amusement, removing the girl's arms from him. "Sorry," he added quickly in the face of her glare. "So where have you searched so far?"
"I... don't think I should tell you that," Contessa answered hesitantly.
"Fair enough," Geoff shrugged. "Well I'm gonna go see if I can't find where Chris's trailer was. A statue of him's gotta be there." He swam off without further word.
Contessa's eyes widened. "Wait! Geoff!" she called out after chasing him. "Let me come with!"
\
Olivia was hiding behind a tree as the scene flashed back to her, looking from left to right. Satisfied with what she saw, she swam out of her cover and bumped into something. The camera pulled back to show she had bumped into Courtney as the music started to boom ominously.
"You!" they exclaimed simultaneously, the shot cutting outward to show they were in the general location of the production crew's camp the previous season. Worryingly, there was a large hole in the center of the camp, and a giant moray eel poked its head out and roared at them, causing them to cling to each other and scream.
"What is that thing?!" Courtney shouted in fear.
"That thing," Chris's voice came suddenly over radios in their helmets, "is my new pet." He laughed, and the camera cut over to show him waiting in a white deck chair at what appeared to be the finish line for the challenge, watching a live feed of the bog on a television cart. "Will Olivia and Courtney live long enough to find the statue?" he asked the camera as an unusual tune, drumming and blaring and deep, began to play. "And where the heck are Geoff and Contessa? Find out when we return, on Total! Drama! All-Stars! 2!"
\
(Commercial Break)
\
A sweet, lilting, and all-around emotional tune began to play as the episode resumed on Chris in his chair. "Ahh, Dimitri," the host sighed, "I don't know when you came to the island, and I'm assuming you found some toxic waste that wasn't quite cleaned up." He grinned at the footage on the screen and chuckled. "But once I saw you I just had to use you in a challenge."
Chris chuckled again, and the shot cut back to him and Chef. "What do you think?" Chris asked his assistant. Chef rolled his eyes.
"I think you've gone crazy," he told his boss.
Chris let out a insulted sputter. "Oh yeah?" he asked indignantly. "And what have you cooked this season? Chef?"
XXX
"I haven't done anything meaningful all season," the hulking man complained in the outhouse camera. "I should've been the one to terrorize those punks! But he's usin' giant eels and interns? Interns?!" He sighed. "This is what I get for complainin' about his mean streak."
XXX
"Hmm," Courtney thought to himself, left hand rubbing his chin and mouth as he looked down towards the eel that was apparently named Dimitri. "If that giant thing's set up here, then the statue is probably here," she said.
The shot cut to Olivia, who had backed up a few feet from the prep. She took a deep breath, then launched herself forward with a determined scowl. She managed to make it past the eel's cave without getting its attention, but still stopped before making it to Chris's old trailer. The music blared dramatically as the trailer began to shake, and Olivia gasped in surprise as two sharks burst out of the trailer glare at her, then roar. The shot cut to Courtney who winced at a growl and Olivia's scream from off-screen, and the actress was 'thrown' back to where the prep was.
"Okay," she groaned, "that could've gone better..."
XXX
"Have I ever mentioned how much I hate this ridiculous show?" Olivia complained.
XXX
"Well, at least Tessa wasn't here to see that," Olivia said, dusting herself off. "That would've been humiliating."
"She did," Geoff said with a smirk as he entered the scene, Contessa right behind him. "But if I were you I'd milk that and get some serious 'personal nurse' time."
Olivia scowled and blushed, but her expression leveled out when she noticed Contessa. "Hey why are you two together?" she asked, growing confused.
"We had the same idea," Contessa explained, she looked over at Courtney and added, "but I guess we all did."
"Looks that way," Geoff said, swimming past the girls and over to Courtney.
Courtney rolled her eyes in mild annoyance. "You all can sit here if you want. I'm going to get that statue." The music became fast and dramatic again as she swam forward, punched and kicked the two sharks and stunned them, and continued on to the door of Chris's trailer.
"Okay," she smiled to herself, standing up and reaching out slowly for the door and wiggling her fingers in excited anticipation, "now to find the statue and leave." The shot cut to Geoff, Contessa, and Olivia watching astounded, then back to Contessa as she touched the door...and was promptly electrocuted.
Geoff winced. "That's gonna leave a mark."
"No kidding," Contessa added.
The shot cut back to a slightly smoking Courtney as she swam away from the trailer, the others swimming over to her in concern.
"Are you alright?" Geoff asked.
"I will be," Courtney added. "What kind of idiot electrifies a door underwater?!
"My bad," Chris's voice told them. "That was a security measure from when the camp was above water. I honestly didn't think it'd still be active all this time. But I'm reasonably certain the windows aren't trapped."
"Okaaay...looks like the direct approach isn't gonna work here," Contessa said to herself. She tapped her chin in thought for a second, then snapped her fingers and smiled in realization. "That just might work," she said to himself, grabbing Olivia and swimming away.
The camera zoomed in to Courtney and Geoff in the background as the other girls passed them by in the fore, and Courtney shook away her daze.
"Now are you alright?" Geoff asked again.
"Yeah," she answered, "yeah, I think so. Although I'm a little surprised to see you so concerned."
"I can be hate at you and still worry, y'know," Geoff huffed in annoyance. "It's called 'being a decent human being'."
"I see," Courtney said, slightly dryly. "Can I still count on your help to get into that trailer?"
Geoff blinked, looked back towards the production camp, then back again at Geoff. "Yeah," he said, "I'll help. After what just happened I don't think we'll be able to get the statue alone. Assuming it's even where we think it is," he added.
"Exactly," Courtney nodded, the music becoming plodding and thoughtful. "We can't approach it directly, so we'll have to go at it from another angle."
The party dude nodded as well and rubbed his chin in thought. "Ah-ha!" he declared after a second, a finger extended in excitement. "I gotta plan!"
\
The music turned dramatic again as the footage skipped ahead to Geoff and Courtney, treading water with stones in their hands. "Are you sure you about this plan?" she asked, the camera panning over to the sharks swimming around Dimitri's home.
"Totally!" Geoff jovially responded. "We just have to get the sharks to chase us into the door, and they'll ram it and open it for us. Then all we have to do is fond that statue and we're golden!"
XXX
"Yeah, I don't like his plan," Courtney confessed dryly. "One wrong move I get eaten by sharks!"
XXX
Courtney and Geoff swam closer and closer to the sharks as the dramatic music resumed. "Almost there," he called out as they reached towards his target. "A little more...!" The camera zoomed in on the stone in his hands. "NOW!" he shouted, and the two threw their stones at the sharks.
Geoff's missed its mark and sailed harmlessly past it, but Courtney hit her target square in the nose. It rubbed its nose in confusion and pain, then growled when it noticed the two homans near it. "Swim for it!" Geoff called out as the shark barreled toward him. He turned around to see that Courtney was already gone, and let out a terrified scream that turned confused as the shark swam past him.
"Seriously?!" Courtney asked, making a beeline for the trailer door. She reached it, and swam out of the way just before the shark lunged forward to attack. It hit the door as planned, and stiffened up as electricity coursed through its body. The door exploded shortly after, and the shark was thrown back in a daze. It shook the daze off, and swam away.
"You did it!" Geoff cheered as he and Courtney swam to the open door. Their joy was short-lived however, when Olivia swam out of the doorway.
"How'd you get in there?!" Geoff asked in surprise.
"We broke a window," the actress explained. "Anyway, the stupid statue wasn't in there, so I'm gonna search somewhere else."
She swam away, and Geoff and Courtney shared a look of disbelief. "You buy that?" he asked his partner.
"Not one bit," Courtney answered. "She's probably got it." The two swam after Olivia, and the music turned plodding as Contessa swam out of the doorway once the two had left. She smiled, and the camera cut to the Chris statue in her hand.
XXX
"Liv's idea," Contessa explained. "Since no one really trusts her she figured we'd use that to get Geoff and Courtney to follow her on a wild goose chase."
XXX
"We're gaining on her!" Courtney exclaimed, the shot cutting to her and Geoff chasing after Olivia near the old campgrounds. The actress looked back with a smirk, which turned into a look of shock as she swam away as fast as she could.
The shot quick-panned back over to Geoff and Courtney's stunned expression, which quickly dropped when they heard Contessa scream. They gasped as the hopeless romantic barreled past them and then they looked behind them and saw Dimitri the eel quickly coming towards them.
Courtney and Geoff gasped in shock and horror. Then, after a moment, Geoff turned and said "Scram!"
"Already gone!" the prep replied as they swam off together.
\
The scene cut to Olivia, pulling Contessa into their canoe as fast as she could with the statue in hand and panic on her face. "Tessa!" she cried out once her girlfriend was in relative safety, "Are you okay?!"
A thunderous roar coming up from beneath them caught her attention, and with wide eyes Contessa repiled "I'm fine! Let's get out of here!"
They each grabbed an oar, but a cry of "I HATE THIS STUPID SHOW!" from Courtney distracted them long enough for their rivals to paddle past them in their own canoe.
Dimitri the eel lept out of the water and roared, and the girls clung to each other and screamed in terror. The eel landed in the water not far from them, creating a massive wave that picked up the canoe and carried it in its wake.
Olivia and Contessa's screams caught the attention of Geoff and Courtney, and they looked back just in time to see the wave coming for them. The screamed, and were also picked up by the wave.
The wave crashed on the beach of Boney Island, leaving the four teens and their canoes in a heap. Olivia quickly extracted herself from the pile and pulled Contessa free. Geof and Courtney freed themselves not long after and chased after them.
\
The shot cut back to Contessa running through the forest, statue in her hand and the rival alliance on her tail. She jumped over a thick tree root, then looked to her right as the shot pulled back, revealing Olivia running alongside them.
"Throw it to me!" she said, waving her arms to get her attention. "I'm open!" Contessa looked from her to the statue and back again with a hesitant look on her face, but nodded just the same and tossed it her way. Contessa jumped and caught it in both hands, then cried out "Yes! Got it!" in excitement.
She promptly tripped over another root, and fell to the ground. Unfortunately this was just enough of a delay that Geoff and Courtney were now almost right behind her.
Olivia yelped and ran, scrambling to get up and running forward with the statue stretched out in front of her. The camera zoomed out to show Geoff and Courtney right behind her and Contessa further in front, a worried look on her face. "Pass it back here!" she called out. "We have to keep it away from them as long as possible!"
Olivia complied, but when Contessa moved to throw it back she called out. "Keep it!"
"Wait," Contessa stopped for a moment, looking over her shoulder. "Why?"
Olivia smiled as she stopped running. "Trust me!"
"Liv? What are you about to-" she turned around to see Geoff and Courtney gaining on her, yelping in shock and running ahead.
Olivia smirked as Geoff and Courtney ran past her, then started running again to try and tackle them. While she was able to take down Courtney, Geoff had managed to spin out of the way and continue chasing after Contessa.
"What are you doing?!" Courtney yelled, as she tried in vain to free herself from the grapple.
"Go Tessa go!" Olivia called out, struggling to keep Courtney down.
The camera cut to Contessa running through the forest at full speed, Geoff hot on her heels and closing in. "There's the finish!" She said with wide-eyed panic. "Just a little bit more!"
"Hurry up!" Courtney called out as the shot cut to her and Olivia - now no longer on the ground but actively running after their partners - "Take her down! She's almost made it!"
The music cut became a much tenser tune as Contessa, panting and sweating, ran for the finish line with Geoff right on her tail. The hopeless romantic tripped over a tree root, forcing her to the ground with a shout. She hit the ground on her stomach, and scrambled across the finish line, tossing the statue into Chris's hands the moment she was able. She fell to the ground after moving another few inches.
"Contessa, for the win!" the host said excitedly, holding up the Chris head statue as a few pleasant notes. He rose from his chair and walked over to the girls, who had stopped in their tracks outside the finish banner. "Ladies and Geoff, two of you are about to end your million dollar journey!" he said as a short but triumphant tune played.
"Chris," Contessa said as he and Chef walked over to the group. "I'd like to make my choice."
Chris and Chef looked at them, shrugged, then the burst into raucous laughter. The host wiped a tear from his eye and said, "You don't get to choose yet," through his laughs.
"But you said-" Contessa started before Chris cut her off.
"I know what I said," he replied. "And I did it to be mean and misleading. You see," the music turned ominous. "You do get to choose who goes to the Final Two, after they," he pointed to the other three, "have a final vote among the three of them."
"WHAT?!" The three said at once.
"I knew he was planning something," Olivia huffed.
\
A trio of deep, ominous notes punctuated the flash ahead to a long-distance shot of nighttime Boney Island that opened the usual marshmallow ceremony.
"Time for the final elimination ceremony of the season!" Chris begun excitedly, the scene cutting not to the elimination chamber but to a small campfire just outside the Fun Zone, the Final Four already waiting with the host and host's assistant. "I've read the votes of our losers aaaaaand," he paused for effect, "Our first eliminated All-star of the evening iiisss..."
"Olivia!" he finished as Chef grabbed the scowling actress by the arm.
"This is ridiculous," Olivia complained, her catchphrase lacking its usual bite.
"Now! Contessa, since you won the challenge and secured yourself a place in the finale," Chris continued. "You now get to choose your opponent, in said finale. So who's it gonna be?"
"Uhh," Contessa scratched her head in thought, "I don't know. I was really expecting to be able to choose Liv."
"To bad she just got voted off," the host smirked. "I'll ask again. Are you taking Geoff," the camera cut to the party dude as he gave her a blank look, "or will you choose Courtney?" the camera panned to the left onto the prep as she crossed her arms.
"Well I guess...," Contessa said, turning towards the host as the soft trill of the elimination rose up. "I'll have to choose..." she looked form one to the other uncertainly, clearly unsure who to pick.
A single deep note played as the shot cut outward, and the others present looked at Contessa expectantly. The shot cut back in as she looked around at the two with a sigh and said "Geoff. I'm taking Geoff to the finale with me."
"What?!" Courtney shrieked, the sombre elimination music starting up as Chef walked over and grabbed The Control Freak by the arm. "Why him?!"
Contessa shrugged sheepishly. "I had to choose someone!" she defended. "And since my first choice was gone, I just went with the guy who seemed nicer."
Geoff barked out a laugh at the furious look on his rival's face.
\
The scene skipped ahead to show Olivia and Courtney being tossed into the Fun Zone, landing on their stomach and butt respectively. "Don't worry," he told the girls. "The ropes from last years finale should still be there. Just remember to not make too much noise if you don't wanna wake the mutants!"
"Wwwwell," Chris said, walking back over to the campfire where Contessa and Geoff were still standing, "it's not the finale I expected," he explained to the two actual finalists, both of whom were looking annoyed. "But I've learned to not get to worked up over these things. I'm sure you two can pull of an exciting finale. Was still hoping for Courtney and Olivia to make it though."
"Thanks for the vote of confidence," Geoff said dryly.
"And can you really afford another finale of unlikable people," Contessa scoffed before cringing. "Sorry Liv."
"Good point," Chris said, rubbing his chin in thought. "Well, whatever the case may be," he said, resuming his usual demeanor as he turned to face the camera, "I'll be sure to find a way to spice things up a little. So get ready for some death-defying mortal combat, next time on the epic final round of, Total! Drama! All-Stars! 2!"

(Bonus Clip)
"Eliminated right before the finale," Olivia griped to a Courtney as the two girls sat on the beach of Boney Island, "again! Ugh! I can't believe it! At least I was able to make sure Tessa made it. She deserves the money more than me anyway."
"At least your biggest rival isn't in the finale," Courtney shot at her.
"Geez," the actress scoffed. "Why do you two hate each other so much? I mean, there've been way worse people to deal with."
"That's the thing," Courtney sighed. "I have no idea why I can't stand him. We've even made up a few times but we always go right back to fighting like nothing happened." She sighed and ran her hands through her hair. "But how are you holding up? I saw your season and know about your home life. Are you gonna be okay when you go back?"
Olivia laughed. "I'm not going back to them," she said seriously. "You see, today was my eighteenth birthday. I'm legally old enough to take care of myself. And since Mommy and Daddy assumed I'd be under their thumb forever, all my money from my acting days is in my name. They only get a stipend as long as I let them."
"And you're about to stop letting them?" Courtney asked with a smirk and a raised eyebrow.
"Naturally," Olivia smirked.
Courtney laughed. "Well if you need a lawyer for whatever they do to get back at you, I know a good firm."
Olivia smiled. "Y'know Courtney, I think this might be the beginning of a beautiful friendship."
Author's Note Post Script: And we have our Final Two. This was honestly the plan from the beginning. I'm sorry to all the people that wanted Olivia or even Courtney to win, but this was my way of apologizing to Geoff and Contessa; who were the most screwed over eliminations from their respective seasons, albeit Geoff's was more meta.
Thus the reason I needed Topher gone last time. The entire set-up for the challenge was two alliances battling it out, and there was no combination of all-stars I could think of with Topher in the Final Four. And since I've made my dislike of Big Bad finalists well-known at this point, and once again did not want to write an ending where the bad guy won after last season, Topher had to go last time.
Regarding Olivia and Courtney. I've really liked writing these two in both their debut seasons and this one. I'll admit a little more of Canon Courtney snuck through this time than I originally intended, but I think it worked out in the end. After all, Courtney's a complicated person who's trying to keep her less pleasant side under wraps. It makes sense that there are some slips, especially when her only ally is the one guy she just can't stand. Olivia on the other hand, I think I like her redemption arc even better than Lily's. Usually when these arcs happen the person is revealed to be ultimately kind at heart. Olivia is not like those people. She's a bitch and always will be. Sure it'll tone down over time, but at the end of the day she grew up in an environment that does not allow for kindness, and that's not even going into her home life which as you'll notice is no longer an issue. Easily my favorite thing this chapter.
The chapter as a whole, is one middle of the pack opinion wise. One the one hand, I really like the big twist at the end. Even if you may have guessed it from the beginning, the characters didn't. Writing the reaction to them finding out how being a good person ultimately screwed them over is a highlight for me. Mainly becaus e it's just such classic Chris. However, I feel like I should've tried harder to keep Topher to this point. I mean, I know his defeat wouldn't have been as epic as what I did write, but this episode feels lacking without a clear antagonist. And I don't think Dimitri counts.
Anyway, there's only one more chapter this season and I can promise you, it is not like any other finale. The only recurring element is the return of the losers and helpers. But what does that mean? You'll have to wait to find out. But I'l interested in hearing your thoughts on the matter.
And as always I'm sure I'm forgetting to mention something.
I hope you all enjoyed the episode, or some part of it.
Please stay safe and healthy during these difficult times.
And I'd also like to remind you guys that a TVTropes page for this series does exist and needs you guys adding to it.
With that I'm signing off
