Chapter 74
Amanda did apologize to Kat and she was over the moon that she would be living next door to her best friend. They talked about going to Hudson together and living the married life together. Mike proposed to her the night before and she had come to give her and Liv the good news. "I'm sorry I was a jerk and ruined your surprise." Olivia hugged Kat, "Congratulations! We are so happy for you!" Kat put her arm around Amanda, "I love ya kid! Umm Liv did you take my advice and tear her ass up good though." They all laughed, "Man I need to find some new friends." They walked over to the house that Amanda and Olivia would share. Mike took notes of the things they wanted to move out from the apartment into the house. The furniture was pretty nice though. Olivia said she would have baby furniture ordered and delivered by the time they were ready.
Amanda came out of the shower and laid face first on the bed. She didn't feel good at all, her head was hurting, and her ear was aching. She had gotten a couple of ear infections during the winter, but this didn't feel like that. She messed up today and of course felt like a jerk. Olivia snuck in, climbed on the back of her thighs and started rubbing her back. "Hmmmm Liv that feels good." Olivia giggled, "Whack! Whack! Whack!" Amanda yelled and squirmed, "Owwww Liv stop that hurts!" Olivia laughed, "Yeah spankings hurt, so the person learns to do the right thing. You're good with math. How many more pops will it take Amanda to learn? "Whack" Amanda tried pushing up, but didn't have the strength. Olivia's hands rubbed her back and moved to the front of her breast. "Baby are you okay? You feel really hot."
She let Amanda turnover and Olivia saw her cheeks were red. "Liv you hit hard." Olivia looked in her eyes, "I'm gonna ask you something and you better not lie. Do you feel ok?" Olivia felt her forehead, "I told you earlier I didn't feel good. That's why I laid down when Kat came. I just have a headache." Olivia jumped up, "Oh my ear hurts a little but not like with an ear infection. She came back with the thermometer and Tylenol, "Liv what's wrong?" Olivia took her temperature, "Baby your eyes are bloodshot and 103.4. Take this, now!" Olivia handed her 2 pills and grabbed her phone, "Melinda come down please and bring your bag."
"Hey Liv, what's wrong." Olivia pointed to the couch, "103.4 fever, headache, earache, eyes are bloodshot. I gave her Tylenol, but I'm thinking of a hospital." Amanda's eyes shot up, "Hospital I don't feel that bad." Melinda knelt down, "Well your high fever says otherwise." They decided to go to the hospital because her fever was too high. "I don't have time for the hospital, my graduation and our wedding is in two weeks." Olivia and Melinda ignored her, "Yep that's why we're going now." They checked her in, put her in a gown, and started an IV. "Dr. Hendrix!" Amanda was terrified it would be some unknown doctor. "You're lucky I like you. Pulling me off my comfy couch on a weekend. Olivia called me and said you weren't happy about the hospital. Let's see what we have."
After an X-ray, blood sample, throat swab, and some other tests. Amanda was diagnosed with pneumonia. "Well you're staying the night." Dr. Hendrix announced. The nurse came in to check her vital signs. "Nurse take her temp again first." Melinda watched it go up. "Dr. Hendrix no way, she has an IV and all the meds still 103." Amanda felt funny and held her head and then everything went black. "Nurse, I need help. Melinda hit that button for me." Amanda was shaking, her eyes rolled in the back of her head, and Olivia was terrified. All the scary things she had seen, never once with someone she loved. Dr. Hendrix gave her an injection and she stopped shaking. She was so calm "Check her vitals for me. That's it Amanda, it's okay." Olivia came over and held her hand. "It was a seizure from the high fever."
Melinda went to grab some stuff for Olivia and called Kat to tell her what happened. "Liv is she okay." Olivia waved her in, "She is now. She's sleeping. Dr. Hendrix said she would be tired from the meds and the seizure. She sleeps like the dead anyway. Kat she's okay." Kat kissed her forehead, "She told me earlier she wasn't feeling good. I thought she was just being a brat. She was really sick. Can I stay with her Liv?" Olivia shook her head, "Of course you can stay, but Kat she was being brat, even if she was sick." Amanda woke up with two of her favorite people holding her hands. "You both slept here all night?" They both raised their heads, "Amanda you're okay. You scared us. You had a seizure yesterday. Liv saw the whole thing. I'm glad I wasn't here for that." Amanda smiled, "I'm good, but I have a killer headache. When can I leave?" Olivia shook her head, "When and only when Dr. Hendrix says so."
Amanda was released after two days and back home. She completed her final class while staying in the hospital and was ready for graduation day. Everyone was at the school, in their seats, and so proud of Amanda. She beat the odds and did it. She wasn't anything like her family that turned her back on her. She had a new family, a real support system, and she was going to make sure Noah and Jesse grew up better. "Graduate Amanda Rollins with an Associate's degree in Business." They clapped and cheered as she walked across the stage, shook hands, and received her diploma. Along with her diploma she received a medal for top honors, numerous scholarships were announced, and several honor club certificates. "I did guys!" When she entered the banquet hall, everyone clapped, cheered, snapped photos, and Liv was there to give her flowers. "I did it Liv, but I wouldn't have done without you. Thank you." She planted a huge kiss on her lips. "I love you Amanda Rollins." Olivia handed Amanda a box. "What's this?" Olivia shrugged just a graduation present. "Liv you did all of this." Olivia held her hands up, "Yeah but I told you only some things will change and I still want to spoil you. So open it." Amanda opened the box and saw an engagement ring with a huge rock. "I have mine, but you were missing yours. Now let's get married."
