Chapter 80
Wednesday was an important day and Amanda knew it. She didn't make Olivia mad that often. Olivia was actually usually very patient with her bad behavior and mood swings. She didn't get up and Olivia was left to deal with both kids that morning. She was fine with that, but had to give Noah an excuse that she was really tired. It was 12:00 and the appointment was at 2:00. Once she laid both of them down for a quick nap, she woke up grumpy pants ready for a fight.
She wanted to smack her ass good, but decided to give her a kiss instead. "Hey I let you sleep as long as I could." She brushed her blonde hair away from her face. "So you are so mad at me that you are gonna miss the appointment." Olivia was being patient, rubbing circles on her back, peppering her face with kisses, and caressing her face. "I'm not mad at you and I know today is important. I'm getting up. I'm sorry I left you this morning." Amanda sat up and Olivia was kneeling down in front of her. "Can I do anything? Make you blueberry pancakes?" Amanda smiled, "Ohhhhh there's my baby, just needed some attention." Amanda got up and ready, while Olivia made her breakfast.
Amanda ate, while Olivia cleaned the kitchen and straightened up around the house. Once Amanda was done she helped, by getting Jesse up first and then Noah. "Okay Noah, we have a meeting in 30 minutes. I want you to listen, answer their questions, and be a good boy." Amanda was really good with both of them. Olivia wondered why she worried so much. Noah started drawing at the table. Amanda placed Jesse in her playpen, "Amanda you're so good with them, they're lucky to have you." She gave her a hug and whispered to her, "Now, I want you to listen, answer their questions, and be a good girl." Amanda threw her head back laughing, "Hey let's get through today, Lucy's interview and Noah's school in the morning, Kat is taking them at 12:00, then we will talk about Friday. We're okay, you're okay, and I love you Amanda Rollins."
The meeting with Mr. Huang and Trevor Langan went great. Mr. Huang was happy with their adjustment and praised Amanda and Olivia for keeping them together with family. He would need to make a few more drop ins, but everything was good. Trevor stayed longer to go over adoption paperwork, name change forms and fees, all the lawyer stuff that went straight over Amanda's head. Amanda didn't admit to Olivia, but she was worried when Olivia told her that he was the lawyer. She knew the slept together and even though Olivia had been completely honest with her, when he walked in he was hot. "Liv I see why you did him over David, damn and you picked me." Olivia hung her head, "I told you to behave and yes I picked you, because you're hotter."
The next day they met Lucy first, before heading to the school. She was young and a perfect fit. Noah and Jesse loved her immediately. "So we definitely need you for Jesse, but we are thinking about putting Noah in preschool, but not until August. Do you watch any other kids?" Lucy talked while she played with Noah, "Actually I don't. I usually try to stick with one family. It depends on how much you need me. When I work with Mr. and Mrs. Amaro, they needed me a lot due to work hours." Olivia agreed, "Yeah we will probably need you a lot once August starts. I'm a Sergeant and Amanda will be going to school and her internship. Even if we decide to put Noah in school, we need you to drop off and pick up most likely. Would you be able to start next week? I would like to be here with you before I transition back to work. Amanda will be around some during the summer but not all day." Lucy smiled, "That will work for me. I'm excited."
They dropped Jesse and the kids overnight bags off with Kat. The school visit was wonderful. Noah's eyes were wide with excitement. He definitely enjoyed being around other kids his age. He loved Jesse, but it was good to see him in that environment. The school laid out a learning plan to prepare him for school. They signed him up to begin in August. "Amanda I really liked the school and it seems like a good move, because he's going kindergarten in another year."
They dropped Noah after that and went home for dinner together. "Baby do you want to talk about therapy. Are you still upset with me?" Amanda shrugged, "Liv things are different now and I just want a different start. I guess we can go and let's see what happens. But right now we're kid free and I did misbehave last night. I think my ass needs some attention."
Friday morning came and Olivia didn't know what she was waking up to, when the bed was empty and cold beside her. "She took a shower, got dressed, and slowly walked through the house. Amanda was making breakfast, "Morning Liv, I cooked." They sat and ate breakfast, "Amanda do we need to talk before we go?" Amanda cleaned up, "Actually I'd rather not if I have to talk when I get there anyway."
Dr. Hanover greeted Amanda and Olivia with a hug. "Congratulations you two! I know I already told you but it's good to see you. Amanda you ready it's been a while." Amanda held Olivia's hand, "Dr. Hanover I want Liv with me this time to start." Dr. Hanover looked at Olivia, "Okay we can do that. Come on." They all sat down, "So I know a lot has changed, you graduated, you're married with kids, and starting college in two months. Big life changes Amanda. How are we handling it?" Amanda thought and looked at Liv, "Not great, but not terrible. I have my moments, but everyone does. I wanted Liv in here with me, because I don't want monthly therapy sessions anymore. I want to decide when and if I need to come, but I want Liv to be able to pull the therapy card if she can't handle me. I trust Liv and we're married now. I know she isn't a therapist, but I want to talk to just my wife, not you.
They were both speechless, "Liv probably wants me to tell you that my dad is in prison for the rest of his life and it's bothering me. Honestly it's not. It was a shock to hear, but I'm glad that's where he is because now my brother and sister are safe. They are our babies and we will make sure they don't grow up like me. I think I deserve a break. I shouldn't have to be tied to therapy every month. I want a chance to talk to Liv first and I swear if you pull the card, I come. Dr. Hanover smiled, "You've really grown right before my eyes. I'm good with that, but I want you talking. No more holding it in, because you kinda do that, but I'm willing to try if Liv is. They both turned to Olivia for an answer, "Okay Amanda. You promise to talk to me?" Amanda shook her head, "I do Liv. I promise. I might need a reminder. I just ask that you give me a chance. I mean we both know I can be a brat, but brats don't always need therapy.
