Born in the EF

A guest asked for a oneshot of Emma being unable to cross the town line in the 3A finale because she was born in the EF. So she is sent back there with everyone else. However, she arrives back as a newborn, since that was the state she was in when she left. Snowing are both shocked and happy.

Emma felt like her heart was being ripped from her chest as she turned the key in the ignition. She had only just found her parents, now she had to leave them again. It felt so cruel to be given such little time with them. Emma didn't know if it was a blessing or a curse that she wouldn't remember ever being in Storybrooke. The pain would be immense if she did remember, but now, she would go back to the pain of feeling like an orphan. All whilst she had two parents, trapped in another realm, unable to reach her. Emma took a few steadying breaths. She still had Henry, she had to remember that. She had to be strong here. She had to get him away from the impending curse.

Emma pressed her foot against the accelerator. She fought the urge to look back, that would just hurt more. Emma tense up as they reached the border. This was it. She was going to forget her parents.

But as the car passed through the barrier with Henry…Emma stayed behind. She gasped as the car suddenly vanished.

"Henry!" She cried out, but it was useless, he wouldn't be able to see or hear her, even if he did, he wouldn't remember her. Suddenly, the group was flanking her.

"What's happened?" Emma asked. "How am I still here?"

"You were born in the Enchanted Forest." Regina said, looking into the spot where Henry had vanished. "Pan must have planned for that." Emma felt Regina's panic. Henry was alone in the world now. But they didn't have time to think about it. Green fog snuck around the group. Snow and Charming pulled Emma into a hug, shielding her as best they could. The fog felt choking, surrounding them completely. Both Snow and Charming felt themselves lose their grip on Emma, no matter how hard they tried to hold on. When the fog cleared, they were back in the Enchanted Forest. They were dressed exactly as they had been the day they left. Neither even had a chance to ask where Emma was, when they heard an infant crying a few feet away. Approaching the baby, there could be no denying it. It was Emma. They would recognise their newborn daughter anywhere. They had clearly all reverted back to how they had been the day they left the Enchanted Forest. For Emma, that transformation was a bit greater. Snow carefully scooped the little girl up.

"It's ok." She whispered as Emma stopped crying. "We're here." She promised here, holding Emma close to her chest. "We're right here." Charming pressed a kiss to the top of Emma's head before pulling both his girls into a close embrace. They didn't know what the future held here in the ruins of the kingdom they once ruled, but they would make it work. They had to.
