No good boyfriend- part 3
Ouat Prisky0731 asked for a oneshot of a third instalment carrying on from Ch990 "No good boyfriend- part 2" where Emma isn't herself after everything. She's really jumpy and distant until Snow talks to her. Charming sneaks off with the dwarves to find him.
Every time Charming looked at Emma, he got a little more angry. Not at her, of course, but at Alexander. Emma was a ghost of her former self, and it was all that little torag's fault. Charming had let him off scot-free for long enough. Now he was going to pay. Charming gathered the dwarves. He would not rest until he had found the punk that hurt his little girl.
Meanwhile, Snow was trying to help Emma as well. Emma had been pulling away from both her parents lately. Snow felt that had gone on long enough as well. It was time to bring Emma back to them. She went up to Emma's bed and knocked on the door. Her heart broke at the way Emma jumped at the sudden noise. Emma had never been jumpy before him. Snow kept her anger hidden beneath the surface. She had to be calm and collected, for Emma's sake.
"Hey honey." Snow said with a warm smile. "I just wanted to come up and check on you. It's been a while since we had a chat." Snow said. Emma did her best to smile back, but it wasn't very convincing. Her cheeks were hollow. She clearly hadn't been eating properly.
"Sorry, I'm just…busy with my studies." Emma lied. "Can this wait?" Snow frowned.
"Well I suppose it could." She said, coming into the room and sitting on the edge of bed "Or we could talk right now about how you've been avoiding everyone, including your tutors?" Snow told her. Emma sighed. She was bound to find out eventually.
"I'm just…not up to lessons right now." Emma said. "I just need a little time, you know?" Snow nodded. She did know.
"You can take as long off as you need." Snow told her. "Just…don't stop talking to us, please. Don't draw into yourself. We can help, Emma. But we need you to open up a little more." Emma nodded, trying to stop herself from crying.
"I can't believe I was stupid enough to go back to him." Emma said quietly. "I could have gotten really hurt. I'm such an idiot."
"Hey." Snow said, coming over and crouching down beside Emma. She took Emma's hands in hers. "Sure, maybe what you did wasn't the most sensible of ideas, but you are the farthest thing from an idiot, Emma Ruth. You're young, you're going to make mistakes. Especially when it comes to boys. You can't beat yourself up for that. All I need you to know, Emma, is that you are worth more than any boy who thinks he can lay his hands on you. Never get caught in that trap again. I don't care how old you get, if a boy ever lays his hands on you and still claims to love you, tell your dad or I. We'll soon set him straight." Snow promised her. "You're going to get passed this, Emma. It might be a long road, but your father and I will be by your side every single step. Take comfort in the fact the road to recovery will be much longer for Alexander in a couple of hours when your father and your uncles get their hands on him." Snow told her. Emma didn't know whether to be mortified or grateful.
"Thanks." Emma whispered. Snow smiled, taking Emma's face in her hands and kissing her forehead.
"You don't need to thank us, sweetheart. It's what we're here for." Snow told her. None of them could still believe what Alexander had done to Emma, but they refused to let it define her for the rest of her life.
