Chapter 14- the message
"So this is her?" asked Peter. They were sitting in his sitting room, watching the television as there was a conference about how Katniss came back. "And so how did you get the mutants to give you back?" asked one voice to Katniss. "I'm afraid that it wasn't the mutants. Someone used that as a cover story." Lied Katniss. "So she is on our side?" asked Peter. "Yes, well kind of, she stopped the war, which was good, yes, but she still went back to the humans." Said Erik. "She felt like she had no choice." Said the Professor. "And why didn't you stop her?" asked Peter. "Because that wouldn't be fair on her, and she could probably break free anyway and then she would be mad at me and then she would definitely want to go, because she would probably also feel like she had no choice anymore."
Erik and Peter stared at the Professor. "Wow, if anyone had that many feelings going on inside them, they would explode." Said Erik. "Well, just because you have the emotions of a teaspoon, doesn't mean nobody else does too." Said the Professor. "Anyway we better get going back to the mansion. Will you be coming with us, Peter?"
The cameras were still flashing at Katniss. "What are you plans now?" "Are you going to stay with your father or go off doing something else?" "Where were you when your brother ran away?" Katniss finally spoke up. "That is all highly confidential." She said. "Thank you for your time." She said and then walked away to beside her father. "I am going to the Whitehouse." She said and walked off.
When she got into her bedroom, she shut the door. There was almost a immediate knock on the door. "It is your dad, may I come in?" Katniss sighed and replied, "Yes." The door opened and her father walked in. "So you are saying that the mutants did not kidnap you?" Katniss nodded. "And so they did not give you in?" he asked. "Umm, technically." She wondered were her father was going with this. "And so, they didn't uphold their end of the bargain? Did they?" Katniss stared. "But they- they couldn't!" she said. "Are you defending them?" he asked. "Someone has too." She snarled back. "I am starting to think there was no kidnap." He said. "And why is that?" asked Katniss. "Listen. I hope that you are not a mutant." He said. "And why is that? Cause they are different?" she asked. "There will be a war. And I will start with Charles Xavier's mansion. We will see how he copes with war now."
He left the room and Katniss heard the door lock. She ran over to the window and did something she had seen a boy do by the lake when she was at the mansion. Part of her came out of her and turned into her identical twin. "Tell everyone in the mansion, they are in danger, they need to get out of there and that my father knows." And the smoke version of her took off through the window and through the night.
