Emma in the middle- part 7

CSlove asked for a oneshot of a sequel following on from Ch2479 "Emma in the middle- part 6" where during their time together, Snow realises how much she's missed in Emma's life.

Well done for remembering the chapter name and number since it's a sequel request. Other people haven't. If you don't, the request gets deleted. Just a head's up.

"It's such a beautiful day." Snow sighed, looking up at the sky. The sun was shimmering down through a faint spattering of sparse cloud cover. A cool breeze whistled through the trees every few minutes, preventing the mother and daughter from overheating. Emma smiled in agreement, laying back against the cool grass and watching the clouds float lazily along the sky. Snow looked down at her, smiling. She had never seen Emma quite as relaxed with her before. She had always been so tense. Snow could have kicked herself for the reasons she used to excuse Emma's tension by. She was an angst-filled teenager, she was just having a bad day, her lessons were getting harder, she'd obviously fallen out with one of her siblings or friends…Snow couldn't believe she'd never pointed the finger of blame at the real culprit for Emma's tension around her: herself.

"Why don't I make you a daisy chain?" Snow offered her. "I can make you a bracelet, or a little one to put on your head if you want? It would look so pretty with your curls." Snow smiled at the image.

"Er, no thanks, mom." Emma said politely. Snow's face fell. Didn't she want her to?

"You can cover it with your sleeve if you're embarrassed." Snow offered.

"Oh no, I'm not embarrassed." Emma said quickly. "I would love for you to make me one…but daisies make me come out in a rash." Emma reminded her. Snow was about to say that she used to love having daisy chains made for her, but then she remembered, that was Marali. Snow felt dreadful. How could she not remember the plant her daughter was allergic to? That could be serious one day! Snow forced herself to keep smiling.

"Of course, silly me." She said. "How about a nice woven grass bracelet instead?" Emma smiled.

"Perfect." She said. Snow set to work creating the grass jewellery. She felt her heart hurting inside. How much else did she not know about Emma? Particularly serious things like that? How could she have let it get this bad?
