"Snow! Snow! Where are you!?"Rose calls for her sister, trying to find her. Searching everywhere she could for in the thick forest. Worried sick.
She just fled. Rose didn't, yet at the same time understood why. Empathizing with the young gem. She felt guilty and unwanted. Mixing in with her own fear and shock. Rose had to find her. She wouldn't stop till she did.
Steven searched and searched, day after day for his aunt. Coming up empty handed with every turn. Nothing popping up about her, no one had seen her. Asking Peedee who regrettably told him, he had not seen her. Becoming himself panicked and rather furious Steven had lost her. He did though help him search, both coming up empty handed. Steven didn't understand why both parties acted that way. Especially the Gems. Whom he thought would have been happy to see Snow again. From what he gathered from Snow when she brought up memories and moments with them, sounded like there was a true bond and joy among them. To get the exact opposite. There seems to be some sort of discomfort and rift. With a bit of hostility and maybe...maybe resentment. He wasn't sure. Whatever it was caused Snow to flee the way she did, hurt and angry. Though more hurt.
He tried to get her to come back, but she was gone. Where could she have gone? He was beginning to worry. Starting to become scared and nervous with each day that passed. Yes, days. She'd been missing for quite a few days. While he tirelessly searched for her, the Gems didn't seem to lend a hand and would not tell him anything. When he asked them to tell him. All they did was avoid it, which greatly started to frustrate him.
It was clear there was a past, but, that wasn't important to him right now. This was the sixth time he'd stop to look into Funland's Arcade. As Snow seem to really like being in here. Checking the claw machine, coming up empty handed. Defeated by the lost, he hangs up one of the flyer's he had. With the only picture he had of her and picture, he drew it himself. The flyer had his name and number should anyone see it. Not the best type of drawing he could do, evident by the confused look on Lars's face.
"What is this?"He turns it, trying to figure it out. Turning it left then right. Before giving up."...Seriously? What is this?"
"It's Snow."Steven tells him."See?"Lars looks but sees nothing really.
"...Seriously? I don't see it."Tossing it aside, dismissively. Snorting.
Steven picks it up."Hey. Don't do that to my Aunt."
"Honestly, I'm still trying to figure out how the two of you are even related. I mean..."He sizes up Steven. Then looks at the picture. Throwing his hands up."I just don't see it. She's...and your...and she's...There is no family resemblance."
"Well, it doesn't matter. She's my auntie."
"Do you even have proof? Anyone can say that."
Steven thinks about it for a second, he hadn't thought about that."You know...she smiles just like me. Like my mom...so I guess that counts."
His answer caught Lars by surprise. He had nothing to say."Steven? What are you doing?"Sadie asked coming from the back, with a new batch of donuts. Switching out one of the trays.
"He's putting up lost flyers for his missing Aunt,"Lars tells her with quotation marks. Taking one down to show her."See? Doesn't even look close."
Sadie takes a look, Lars was right. It didn't look like anything really close Snow. Well, maybe the hair and possibly the outfit. Other than that, nothing else really. It was just really bad.
"She's missing?"Looking to Steven."When? I thought she was going to stay with you?"
Finishing taping before answering."Since last week. She just left. I don't know...I don't know where she went. I'm really worried about her."He said distraught."I don't know if she's still here in Beach City or not. She's all alone out there."
Sadie gives him a sympathetic look."That's terrible. Why did she leave? She seem so happy. Last time I saw the two of you together."
"We were. The Gems didn't tell me why. I just want to really, really find her. So, if you see her or find her. Can you please, let me know."He pleads, leaving a flyer on the counter.
"Y-Yeah."She agrees, watching the broken hearted boy leave.
This was not how you expected the reunion to be, then again, it made sense. The tension was there as thick as day. If they could, they would have said something if they weren't in complete shock. You felt the glare from Garnet the most out of everyone. Or was from Ruby taking over. Either way, you knew you weren't welcomed so, you just left. Leaving behind Steven. Which you deeply regretted. Hearing him calling out to you, pleading for you to stay, but you selfishly refused. Now, you just wondered how he was doing.
You left him behind, just like you did with Rose. A mistake.
Wishing you could go back, but, the thoughts of facing the others prevented you. Sulking and brooding, you begin to slightly frost the area you reside in. "Brrrr...It's cold. Ummm, everything okay?"
You lift your head from the comfort of the soft mountain of plushies, just as Sadie came downstairs carrying a box of donuts. She must have ended her daily work. Her job. As she told you. She gives you a friendly smile, handing you the box.
"Thank you."Taking it from her, open it finding an assortment of different kinds, your eyes land upon a particular one. A jelly filled one. You shut the top, putting it aside."I am not in the mood for them. Currently. Though still th..thank you."
Putting her jacket away, Sadie looks at you sadly. Sensing something was troubling her, look back. Not wanting to be rude, reading her emotions, wait for her to tell you. She tries to avert her eyes, twiddling her thumbs. To just give in."Steven, he came by the Donut shop today. H-He was putting up..."She takes out a flyer for you to see."Flyers, searching for you. He's really worried about you and misses you."
Taking the paper of the rather crude drawing of you, look at it and see the love he put into it. You could feel it. Closing your eyes, absorb all the emotions. Sadie watches the flyer glow for a second. It was beautiful, only lasting a few seconds. Opening your eyes, tears start of pain started to fall. A few dropping down. Wiping them away.
"H-H...My nephew truly misses me."You solemnly cry. Through the smile you forced."I have...I have hurt him. That was the last thing in which I wanted to do."
Sadie seem to understand and takes a seat next to you."Well, why don't you go and see him."
It was a thought, but, you just couldn't."It is a thought, but...after...It is best that I do not. I mean...the Gems."Looking to the side.
"But, you clearly miss Steven and he's been looking for you. For days now. I could arrange something i-"
"NO! I mean..that is alright. Thank you."Picking up the box, to put down."Thank you again, for allow me a place to dwell. Sadie."
"You're welcome. Honestly, I was quite surprised when you..umm..suddenly appeared. I was actually more surprised you managed to find me. Then again, with your powers...I guess I shouldn't. Sorry, if it's not the best place in the world."
"Oh, I like it very much."You compliment. Picking up one the plushies and hug it."These are quite adorable. Little animals stuffed. It is like resting upon a cloud. Always soft. You must really like them."
"Yeah, guess you could say that."
Setting the plushie back down, your eyes wander to the flyer and linger with guilt and contemplation. Squeeze it.
"Snow. There you are."Rose had finally found you. Her gentle voice silenced your tears. Her smile comforted you as her arms wrapped around you. Her voice soothed you. "I've been looking all over for you. When you wander off like that, it worries me. Are you okay?"
Through the tears, you managed to nod, even if you weren't full feeling well.
Her arms tighten more around as if trying to squeeze all your tears out and make them stop. "It's alright, Snow."She coos you. Gently stroking your hair. With a light chuckle. "You can't just leave like that. Alright? Okay?"
Steven hadn't received one single phone call from anyone, all those flyers he put out he was sure someone would have called. Sulking by his phone, the time was going on 8:50 pm now. He didn't want to give up, he couldn't. Was it his fault? If it was he would fix it and make it better. All he wanted was for his aunt to come back. There was just so much he wanted to know and needed to know. Not to mention he was just super kicked when she came. Pressing his screen there was no calls. Sighing heavily he flops back and forth on his bed. Picks up one of his flyers he still had and stares it.
"Snow? Where did you go?"
