Sleeping babes

Swan345 asked for a oneshot of Emma babysitting Neal and when Snowing come back home, they find them on the couch with Neal sleeping on top of a sleeping Emma.

"Do you think I should call again? I'm gonna call again…" Snow started rooting around her handbag for her phone.

"Snow, relax." Charming said gently, as he took her bag off her and placed it under the table again. "You called Emma half an hour ago. She and Neal are both fine." Charming promised her. It had been the first time the parents had left their two-month-old son at home without them. The only person they trusted to look after him for the first time was Emma. Snow sighed. She knew he was right. She was doing her best to enjoy the night with Charming, and she truly was, but it was a hard adjustment to make. For Charming as well. He was worried about the kids too. They didn't exactly have any shortage of enemies in Storybrooke. Even with Emma's magic, they knew bad people were out there. That's why they went for the two-course option instead of three. They both enjoyed a lovely main and dessert (each having rather a sweet tooth) and took the bill. They enjoyed getting to spend time alone together. As Neal grew, they'd get to have even more spells without their infant son. But for now, whilst he was so tiny, they would enjoy being with him as well. They returned to their home to relieve Emma of her babysitting duties, only to find that she'd turned babysitting into having a sleepover.

"Look." Charming whispered as he caught sight of both their children. Clearly, Emma had gotten Neal to sleep by rocking him a bit on the couch. Then, rather than move him, she sat with him there. Where she too had fallen asleep. The sight melted both their hearts. Their beautiful babies. Each parent carefully took a few pictures to have as their new screensaver. Snow leaned back against Charming, who wrapped his arms snugly around Snow's waist.

"We make pretty babies." She commented quietly. Charming chuckled lightly. He quite agreed.

Snow then carefully took Neal out of Emma's arms to expertly put him in his crib without him waking. Meanwhile, Charming took care of their baby girl. She might have moved out, but she still had a bedroom in their home. He carefully took her up there and got her into her bed. Snow was standing at the door when he was done. He came up and kissed her gently.

"Thank you." He whispered.

"For what?" She asked. He smiled.

"For giving me my family. For being the most amazing wife a man could ever hope for." Snow smiled. She felt like she was the lucky one. She guessed that was the way their relationship always worked, and why it worked so well. Each was the one thinking they were lucky. Well, she guessed they were both right.
