Utterly at peace
Amy asked for a oneshot of *season 6 finale spoilers!* Charming telling Snow he wants to retire from the station so he can be a stay at home dad and run a farm. He feels it's the best situation for them and he doesn't want to miss a second of Neal's life.
I won't be writing a sequel to this one. May Muses is, of course, still running and the May Muses rules are still running, I'm just finding it too difficult to write about the end of the finale, let alone adding sequels into it.
"Are you sure this is what you want?" Snow asked one final time. Of course she didn't mind at all. In fact, she loved the idea. Since her and Charming had got the bigger house and found Wilby, she loved the thought of Charming getting to spend more time with their son. She loved that Neal would be getting so much more fresh air. But she also knew all that Charming would be giving up. Charming took Snow into his arms and kissed her.
"Very." He answered her. "Farming is in my blood, more than ruling and policing ever was. Getting to share that with my son will be an honour. You love teaching, Snow. I would never ask you to give that up. This way though, Neal gets to be at home with a parent all day instead of at daycare. I don't want to miss another second of him growing up. We missed so much with Emma, I don't want to miss anything with him." Charming told her. Snow understood how he felt. She felt the same way. "I know it means not spending as much time with Emma, but we're not abandoning her. She knows she's welcome here whenever she wants. In fact, I'd be more than happy if she gave up being at the station as well and came and worked on the farm with us. But I know she and Killian are happy at the station together. Just like I'm happy here." Snow smiled, kissing him once more.
"As long as you're happy Charming, that's all I ever want for you. My shepherd." Charming smiled. He was a shepherd, the luckiest one in all the realms.
