In danger all the time
Jade Star asked for a oneshot of *6x20 spoilers!* Snow still fears losing her family over the celebratory dinner at Granny's. She points out they all nearly died very recently. Snow doesn't want to lose any of them ever again. Emma jokes that they were only mostly dead. Snow gets flustered. Emma and Charming calm her.
Snow couldn't help but acknowledge the feeling of unrest sitting in her stomach. It was nothing to do with the top-notch food always served by Granny. No, Snow knew what this feeling was about. It was something far more unpleasant. Emma began to notice her mother's discomfort.
"Mom, what's up?" She asked, placing her hand on top of hers. Snow gave a faint ghost of a smile.
"Nothing, I'm fine. More than fine." Snow lied. Emma frowned at her mother.
"Superpower." Was all Emma said. Snow sighed. That darn superpower.
"Ok, so maybe I'm not fine." Snow admitted. This sentence seemed to catch the attention of everyone else at the table. There was silence as they waited for Snow to go on. "Well, can you blame me? I am so beyond relieved that everything has turned out as it should. But that didn't mean there weren't bumps along the road? How many people in our family died in some way or another since yesterday?" Snow pointed out. All the emotions were finally catching up with her. Emma was never very good with emotional people. She didn't quite know what to say.
"Well, nobody technically died. There were just a few near misses saved by true love's kiss." Emma pointed out. Snow flung a napkin at her so quickly that Emma didn't have a chance to see it coming.
"Near misses aren't exactly great either!" Snow pointed out. "The point is, I nearly lost just about all my family and I can't take that. We've been separated so many times. I can't bear the thought of anyone leaving." Snow said before bursting into tears. Charming instantly passed Neal over to Granny and wrapped his arms around his distraught wife. Emma felt bad for making light of the situation.
"Hey, nobody's hurt." Charming promised her. "We're all ok."
"Yeah, I'm sorry mom." Emma said, taking her mom's hand. "Nobody's leaving." Snow sniffed, leaning against Charming.
"See that you don't." She mumbled. Charming smiled kissing her forehead.
"We promise." He said. He looked at Emma expectantly. "Don't we?"
"Yeah, we do." Emma promised her mom. And they all stayed true to their word as best they could.
