You spotted them, Jenny and the others. "Hello! Hello, everyone!" You raise a hand waving, while the other pulled Lars behind.
Jenny turned to her eyes lit up. "Hey, Snow! You made it!" She squealed hurrying over to you, grasping you into a tight hug. "I'm so glad you came. I was worried you might have gotten lost."
You laughed letting her go, "Yes, well my apologies. I did almost misguide myself, luckily Lars here helped me." You turn to redden face teen.
Jenny and the others look, noticing his presence and how you were holding him by the hand. Something you paid no mind to, Lars did.
"Ah! Let go! Let go! Let go!" He failed his arms, releasing himself, redder than tomato.
You blink a few times and chuckle it off turning to Jenny and the others. "Please, I hope there are no worries in Lars accompanying us. I hope we can find wonderful accommodations for him. He is mos-"
Lars covered your mouth quickly, growing redder by the second, "Shhhhh! Geez! You're nearly worse than Steven!" He hissed quietly in your ear.
It tickled. You giggled.
He went redder than a cherry and quickly released you. "You're so embracing." He grumbled doing his best to hide the increasing red.
It only made your giggles increase. Jenny fawned jumping you.
"Girl! Your giggles are so cute!"
"Laughter, an expression of the soul's own light," Dewy said with a mild smirk, "nice."
"I most heartily agree with you," you let a few more giggles slip. "So what shall we do? I am quite eager to know."
Slipping out Jenny's hold latch onto the Sour Cream's arm. He didn't mind and gave you a glow stick. It was blue.
"Made this new song, we could listen to that," he suggested, taking out the CD.
Your eyes light up and clap. "Wonderful! Another form of expression! I know it shall be glorious as before." You throw up an enthused hand.
"I favor it."
Sour Cream went a little pink, scratched the back of his head, and chuckled. Instantly Lars agreed.
"I agree too!" He blurted.
Causing all heads and eyes to look his way. His mouth clamped shut and his heart raced. He couldn't believe what just did...why didn't he keep his mouth shut. Assuming thoughts buzzed through his mind he couldn't hear a single that was said nor comprehend the actions of everyone. His mind went blank.
He died.
"Oh, it seems Lars is broken," you said waving a hand before him. Trying to get a response of some kind.
For some reason, he suddenly froze and became unresponsive. You weren't sure why. It was odd, what would you tell Sadie? Waving your hand again still get no response. Jenny came over and slung an arm around your shoulder.
"Hey! You in there?" She tried calling. Nothing.
You look to her, "What shall we do?"
She shrugged. "Not sure. But we might have to leave him here if we want to catch the tides."
"And jam to my new tunes," Sour Cream included.
"We cannot just leave him," you protest, going over to him.
He was still breathing. Which was a good sign, so you did something else. Resting a hand on his chest, close your eyes for a moment, emit a light blue glow and find it. So that's what it was, opening your eyes pull your hand back and out a coin size glowing orb. Jenny and the others' eyes widen at the feat. You held the small orb, as it hovered, in your palm delicate softly smile at it. With a finger gently stroke it.
"What's that?" Jenny points, coming over with the others.
Dewy almost lifted his shades to get a better look. Sour Cream was transfixed, suddenly felt a burst of inspiration.
You proudly told them, "An emotion. What kind, forgive me but I would like to keep that private."
"So you just took that out of him?" Jenny's mouth gapped open, the corners turned up smiling. "That's so cool! So what happens to him? What are you gonna do with it? Can I touch it?"
She reaches a finger out, you move away. "Sorry. No." You continue stroking the orb a tender look creased your face. Your cheeks lit up with a tint of light blue. A small giggle slipped out. "Lars will be alright," your voice soothing as a winter breeze. "I just wanted to see."
They didn't understand. Giving the orb one more look put it back in Lars. Within seconds he came back.
"Wh-What?" He blinked a few times, looking around. "What just…happened?" He looked himself over, quickly remembered seeing you and the others.
You give a friendly wave. He frowned. "You're still here.." he grumbled.
"Yes!"
Jenny jumped in. "Snow did something so cool! And I mean cool, she-"
You quickly hush her and push her away, "Please do not relay that to him. Alright?" You whisper away from the others.
She was puzzled. But the nervous look you had, she couldn't help but laugh herself and nodded.
"Gotcha. Lips sealed."
You sigh relieved. "Thank you."
The guys come over, Lars actually calm, his eyes row from you to Jenny. "What did you do?" His frown deepened.
You latch onto Sour Cream and squeeze his arm. "The tides! Then music! The tides!" You thrust a fist in the air. Chanting walking off.
Jenny joins your energy, Dewy smirks and follows. He stops and turns back to Lars. Thumbs to the beach, "You coming?"
Lars normally would have frozen and try to play it cool, nodded, and followed. The tides were low and you found so many starfish you didn't know what to do. It brought back such fond memories of the times you and Rose use to do this. The creatures were so strange, the stars of the ocean were what you called them. The best part, after taking off your shows, frolicking and splashing the water. Like a child in a rain puddle. Jenny joined you, the guys stayed back and watched the tide come in.
"I got you," Jenny laugh splashing water on you.
You kick some back at her, a water fight ensued. Your uniform had become wet and you didn't care. Rose used to do this with you, oh, how you missed that.
"A shell!" You exclaiming, picking it up. It was a small smooth thing. Chipped a bit. "Wow!" Your eyes beamed.
Jenny took a look, "Huh, so it is. You should keep it. It's your color."
She was right, the shell had a tint of light blue in its cream color. "I believe I shall." You tuck it into your pocket and join the others, hearing Sour Cream playing his tunes.
Again, instantly you latch onto his arm. He didn't mind. It was always exciting to hear his newest tunes, you and Rose use to dance to it. As good as dancing either of you could do. Most of the time you just clapped and watched her and the others do it. Amethyst would often bring that stuff to…
Amethyst…the others, your eyes for a moment dropped. Your hold on Sour Cream loosened. He didn't notice but someone did.
The others, your thoughts turned bitter and sour, for a moment heat rose in your eyes. It nearly wrinkled on your face. Luckily it was stopped when Jenny announced the tide was coming in. Instantly you revert back to your cheerful self. The tide indeed came in and it was a sight to behold. Your mouth hung open with a smile. All the starfish were submerged and the water that went up to your ankles now reached your knees.
Sadie wasn't going to be too pleased knowing you ruined your uniform. Oh well, it was worth it.
"That was fun," You smile, as you and the others walk back to the pier. You were slightly skipping and twirling in the sand, as some of it stuck to your now wet feet. Giving you a grainy feeling as you walked up the stairs.
"Yeah, it was nice, mellow," Dewy agreed. With a soft chuckle, "gotta say, Snow. Dig your boundless optimism."
You on your heel to him, "Thank you. I enjoy your sunglasses."
The others laugh, you join them, look at Lars who wasn't sharing in it. "Lars," you get into his face.
He flushed and froze. "W-What?"
"Did you enjoy yourself?" You simply ask, kindly.
He shoved his hands in his pockets and turned away, scratching his cheek a little, "Yeah…I guess." He fumbled.
You leaned in closer and threw your arms around him. "Wonderful!"
His whole body stiffens for a second, the others laughed, and he quickly shoved you away. Or tried to too, your grip was rather strong, he almost forgot what you were.
"G-Get off!"
Letting him go, lock your eyes with his for a moment; it was only a few seconds but for one it felt….like….
Feeling a cold hand on his head, Lars snapped back, "Are you alright? You're red." You point out, removing your hand.
Lars went from his natural color to a multitude of red shades, smacked your hand away. "Geez! Don—Don't touch me, okay? I told you that."
You wince, stunned, sink away and drop your eyes to the side. "I-I'm…" your lips and chin trembled.
Realizing what he just did and the disapproving look by the others, he tried to patch it, "Snow loo-"
It was too late, with a gesture of your hand the winds came and carried you away. Leaving behind yet again, another stone like before. Lars picked it up and just like before it was cold.
