Wet- part 2
Sarahlee asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch530 "Wet" where they're back in Storybrooke and Snow catches Emma changing her bedding once in the morning. She'd wet the bed. Emma defends herself, saying that this isn't something that ever happened before. Neither is what happened during the ogre fight. She's super embarrassed. Mama Snow fluff.
Snow was a light sleeper. Ever since her sleeping curse. It was the only way to prevent her from visiting the burning room. It was being such a light sleeper that caused her to wake up in the early hours one morning. Was that the tumble dryer she was hearing? She turned to Charming, his arms still wrapped snugly around her. There was no chance he was going to wake up. He might be an early riser, but when he was out, he was out. So Snow slipped out of his comforting hold and walked through to the kitchen, just as the machine stop. There she saw Emma in her dressing gown.
"Emma?" She whispered. Emma jumped. She stuffed whatever she had been drying back in the machine. "What are you doing?"
"Nothing. Go back to bed." She whispered frantically. Snow didn't. Instead, she moved forward to see what Emma was drying. Emma tried to stop her, but Snow pulled out the bedsheet. She felt awful for Emma. She had clearly wet the bed. "It's not what it looks like." Emma tried to defend herself. "I flipped over in my sleep and spilt my water. That's all." Snow just smiled at her.
"It's nothing to be ashamed of." She told Emma. "So you had an accident? You were asleep, it's not like you could control it." Snow might not have seen it in the dark, but Emma's face was bright red. So her mom hadn't bought her story.
"It's never happened before." Emma said, mortified. "Like what happened when we fought the ogre." Snow stiffened. Emma hadn't brought the incident up since it happened. "I just keep having these nightmares about Cora…must have got to me." Snow placed her hand over Emma's.
"There's spare bedding in the linen closet." Snow said gently. "Don't be wasting your sleep by washing and drying this during the night if it ever happens again. Leave it till the morning. I'm first up, I'll make sure nobody else sees." Snow promised her, although she would of course have a discreet discussion with Charming. They didn't keep secrets. "I'll help you sort out a new bed for tonight. Emma, please don't feel like you need to be ashamed by any of this. You got attacked by an ogre for the first time. Heck, I nearly had an accident as well seeing you there like that."
"Nearly." Emma repeated quietly, looking away. Snow tilted Emma's head, making her look at her.
"I've dealt with a lot more ogres than you." Snow reminded her. "Just after the first time I dealt with one, I puked all over myself." Snow said. "It isn't any different, not to me. If anyone else thinks it's funny let me know and I'll see they're laughing on the other side of their face." Snow told her. "Come on, you're exhausted. How long have you been having nightmares?"
"Since we got back." Emma admitted. Snow frowned.
"Emma, don't you suffer from nightmares for that long and not tell me or your father ever again." Snow told her. "We know a thing or two about them." Snow said. She took Emma's hand and led her up the stairs. She grabbed the necessary bedding from the closet and went into Emma's room. She got Emma's bed sorted and held back the covers for her.
"I'll sit till you're asleep." Snow promised her. "No nightmares. I'm here." Emma smiled up at her mom. She was already drifting off. So this was what it was like to have parents.
