The sun rays entered the room and blinded Emma's eyes. She twisted on the soft mattress of the hotel bed and yawned. To be honest she really hated waking up early in the mornings, but today she was feeling different.
She was in the mood to wake up early and enjoy the new experiences. She was finally in a good mood after a while... she never expected to actually feel good around Regina. She expected the entire mission to be filled up with negative feelings and lots of arguing, but no.
Regina was might be having bitchy and sassily as always but she amused Emma quite a lot. The blonde woman got out of the bed, put on her slippers and walked towards the bathroom to brush her teeth still kinda sleepily. She reached the bathroom door and after pushing the door a couple of time she realized it was locked.
Then it hit her. Regina was asleep in the bathroom... after what happened last night. She rolled her eyes and knocked on the bathroom door a couple of times mumbling Regina's name.
It was quiet. She couldn't listen any sound coming from the bathroom. She knocked on the wooden door again getting annoyed.
"Regina come on! Open the door! I need to pee for god's sake!"
She whined and knocked again. A few seconds later the door opened up broadly and there was Regina. Holding a white pillow inside her arms. She didn't even spoke at emma. She just exited the bathroom heading to the living room.
Emma rolled her eyes. She couldn't just let the brunette act like this for a stupid situation. She cleared her throat preparing herself for a speech.
"Gina come on. Don't tell me that you're gonna be acting like this all day long!"
Regina turned around examining the blonde'a face. She had put on her poker face again making it hard for emma to read her feelings. She scratched her chin skeptically and smirked.
"Acting like what miss swan?"
She asked raising her eyebrow.
Classic madam mayor...
"You're clearly avoiding me!"
"Oh I'm sorry you caught me masturbating last night miss swan! I'm extremely sorry to feel embarrassed! Won't happen A-G-A-I-N!"
She said ironically and rolled her eyes getting really irritated and uncomfortable now.
Emma was feeling bad about the former queen. Last night was an accident! In case she knew that Regina was in that vulnerable situation she wouldn't have walked into the room...
Emma just pressed her lips together and walked towards Regina with an apologetic look on her face.
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry I walked in on you. I couldn't have known though... you're a woman! A grown up woman! I know you got needs and I respect that..."
Regina placed her fingers on Emma's wet lips and stopped her from talking.
"I wanna listen no more miss swan! Don't give me the mum speech. I don't need it."
Emma remained still looking at her in wide eyes. She couldn't believe it... even if she was trying desperately to apologize and fix things between her and Regina, Regina would still push her away! She didn't seem like she was in a mood to make friendships or get along with people at all.
"Got to admit that it was kinda hot!"
She spitted out playfully to tease the mayor without even using her fucking brain for once again. She should have known better after so many years of knowing Regina Mills! She hated when Emma would use her terrible sense of humor to break the ice.
Regina looked at her annoyed.
"Killian must be proud."
She rolled her eyes and threw the white pillow right on Emma's face. She put on her black high heels and walked out of the room slamming the door behind her.
Emma kept sitting on the bed all alone looking at the door that creaked loudly as Regina slammed it behind her. She took a deep breath and put on her sneakers. She grabbed her cellphone and called Killian. She felt like she really needed to see a friendly face right now.
"Good morning love! How was last night?"
Killian's voice answered from the other line of the cellphone. Emma remained silent.. should she tell him? No... that was all about women stuff. Killian would have probably felt turned on because of the incident. She decided to keep her mouth shut and avoid any kind of conflicts between herself and her husband.
"Ugh... you know... casual stuff! We met a couple of two girls, I asked them a couple of questions in case they knew about the kidnappings but they had no idea and they freaked out as well. Then we got back into our room and slept. That's all!"
She forced a smile on her face even though she knew that Killian couldn't see her! She just tried to seem and sound convincing! She wasn't that good at lying anyway...
"Sounds fun. Is Regina behaving okay? When I said that I would make sure to get her out of the case in case she behaved inappropriately I meant it love. I don't want you to feel weird around her."
His voice tone was warm and low as usual. He really cared about her... he felt extremely bad for forcing emma to work with the former mayor already so he was trying his best to make it up to her. Emma smirked and cleared her throat.
"No no! She's behaving alright! There's no problem with her at all... we are having fun and we are slowly getting along. Thank you though... anyway! How's Henry baby?"
She changed the subject quickly cause she was pretty sure that Killian would start bombing her with questions about her relationship with Regina. It must be the first time in forever that emma would actually admit that she was having fun with the former queen.
"He's at school! I'm pretty sure that he's gonna start opening up to me very soon. We are going to the cinema tonight to watch the premiere of the Pirates of the Caribbean! How cool?"
He sounded excited! Emma couldn't help but grin at his childish voice and enthusiasm.
"Have fun boys! I'm gonna call you later love cause I gotta go downstairs and find Regina."
She smiled and hung up the phone. She took a deep breath as she brushed her hair and exited the room quickly heading downstairs to the dinner. There she was... sipping a sip of coffee while reading a romantic novel with her legs crossed on the chair across her seat.
She smirked and approached the brunette.
"Is the seat over there taken ma'am?"
She teased and gave the brunette a charming smile.
Regina didn't even bother to look at her. She kept reading her book.
"What are you reading?"
Emma asked again and decided to just pull the chair across Regina and sit down. She didn't need Regina's permission anyway... she was just trying to be nice.
"It's called Pride and Prejudice!"
She mumbled a little annoyed as she closed the book and placed it on the surface of the table.
"Oh I had no idea you were into romantic novels madam mayor."
She winked playfully and drunk a sip of the steaming cappuccino.
Regina just nodded still finding it hard to open up and share her feelings. She was never into romantic novels or movies but this time she needed something light to read considering her everyday routine was causing her enough anxiety already.
"So what is it about?"
"Did you just ask me the plot of a romantic book miss swan? I'm surprised you even care!"
"Well I do care I guess! I'm not made of stone madam mayor!"
Regina grinned looking away at the sound of her same old nickname. She had no idea how much she had missed it until she heard it... so many memories started spinning around her head again...
"Pride and Prejudice is a romantic novel of manners written by Jane Austen back in the 1813! The entire novel is actually describing the character development of Elizabeth Bennet, who is the dynamic protagonist of the book and she learns about the repercussions of hasty judgments and comes to appreciate the difference between superficial goodness and actual goodness. Its humour lies in its honest depiction of manners, education, marriage, and money during the Regency era in Great Britain."
She finally stopped talking and Emma kept looking at her not moving a muscle. She could have sworn that miss swan was asleep with her eyes open until she finally swallowed hard holding back her laughter.
"Pretty boring! Do you ever do anything fun queenie?"
Regina narrowed her eyes sarcastically.
"To begin with you better stop calling me with nicknames Miss swan...secondly I'm here to work! I'm not here to wonder around the hotel having fun, while so many people are in danger!"
She rolled her eyes annoyed and Emma finally hushed. She had nothing to say that could compete Regina's answer.
They remained silent for a couple of minutes that seemed like an eternity for miss swan. Ten minutes later she decided to open her mouth and speak again.
"Still... we are here to work but we can still have fun! Tonight we are going over the hotel's bar!"
"Oh really? Since when are you the captain of the team? Since when do you get to take all the decisions for us?"
She raised her eyebrow looking at emma while examining the excited look on her face.
"Regina it's time you finally let go of your bitchy mask and start having fun!"
"Cut the crap swan."
"I could pay you! 20!"
"I'm not that stupid!"
"50"
"I don't need your money emma!"
She held her head annoyed and finished the coffee she was drinking.
"Just give me a chance to show you how regular people are having fun! It's not like the balls you guys had in the palace. It's extremely different!"
"In case I say yes will you please shut your mouth for the rest of the day?"
She huffed and asked the blonde woman irritated.
"Yes yes yes! Promise!"
Emma cheered and smiled at Regina.
"Fine we are going."
Regina mumbled and looked around the hotel room when she noticed something weird. Every single couple that was sitting in the dinner turned around looking towards the front door of the hotel.
Paparazzis were gathered all around the hotel taking pictures and screaming for Vanessa's attention. Believe it or not Vanessa might was a junkie but she was well known for her money and great ability to invest her money at rich people and their firms.
To be honest she looked pretty hot as well. She was tall, and her body looked like she had just come out of a vogue magazine. Her blonde curls were all over her shoulders, bouncing on them as she was walking. She gave the paparazzis a charming smile as she walked inside the hotel grinning at the small puppy she was holding her arms.
She approached the receptionist chatting while chewing her gum annoyingly. She might looked like a model inside that pair of pair red jeans and cropped shirt but anyone could notice her pale skin and the huge bags underneath her eyes.
Emma's jaw dropped as the woman entered the hotel and Regina started laughing.
"What's so funny?"
Emma asked not daring to blink.
"She's not that hot!"
Regina commented and crossed her hands under her chest.
"Oh really? What's your type miss Mills?"
Regina looked at emma sideways and she could feel her heart skipping a beat.
"I like people who can play dirty.I truly appreciate it when the other person has the ability to find my buttons!"
She mumbled and winked at emma. Emma was focusing on Regina's words and every single sound around them was now blurry. She had fully focused on Regina grinning without herself realizing it.
Silence... thank the god silence didn't last long this time.
"You must be Trina and Chloe!"
Both women turned around to see Vanessa looking at them both excited. What a bimbo Regina thought...
To be continued soon guys! I'm on vacations so that's why it's taking me so long to write each part
