First Chapter
Awkward Introduction: Hey! so I started writing this story as a way to explore in a somewhat philosophical way the "poke-system", unconditional love, how to love and the struggles that come with it. There is NO ROMANCE in this story. It is meant to be read as pure love in a platonic way. But to each their own.
There are FanFictions out there that have greatly impacted me and my heart and I hope this one does the same for someone. Aaaand I think that's it.
Thank you so much for giving this story a chance. =)
Story Title: Unconditional: Will you teach me how to be vulnerable?
Characters: Mewtwo (if Masachika Ichimura spoke english), OC, Ash, pokemon. (Characters belong to Pokemon)
Friendship/coming-of-age.
PG.
Summary: A fifteen year-old is living in a cave cause she feels like she doesn't belong in the "poke-system". Attempting to learn what the world doesn't teach her, what happens when she meets a certain pokemon that will challenge everything she believes in?
Prologue:
(Flash-forward)
We share one last dance under the moonlight. I press my face against my best friend's chest after hilariously waltzing around and laughing (after I insisted) but...something made us slow down - prompting my tears to freely slide down my face - and I whisper:
"there's something I didn't tell you Mewtwo. And no. I won't joke around like I usually do.
This time...
I have to tell you.
No sarcasm included "
"hm? what is it?" he answered, looking intrigued.
I sight before speaking. Embarassed at the poetry I'm about to spill.
" I gave you my heart . It was for sale and I freely gave it to you. But...It doesn't matter if you wanna give me yours or not. It doesn't matter if you wish to someday leave it or hurt it,
or...hate it.
I already gave it, so, it will always be yours.
I...just so you know. It felt wrong to keep this from you."
"why me? isn't there someone better, of more worth than I?" he said narrowing his eyes and looking confused.
"You don't have to be perfect Mewtwo. You just have to take it.
...
Even if there was someone better...or worse, I don't care. I will still choose you. Nothing can take that loyalty away. Nothing." I answered, looking down.
He paused. Then took my chin, making me look into his eyes.
"I fear...this...intense devotion of yours might be your downfall some day"
"I already know. I really do but...it's part of the deal." I answer with a sad smile.
Then, he levitates us back to the ground.
Chapter 1:
(Present day)
It's raining as usual in the Galar region. From time to time I enjoy heading out to water the nearby flowers in the forest. And yes I am well aware it is kind of dumb to do that when it's already raining, but...it makes me feel like I am helping the rain in some strange way.
"Greetings little flower, you thirsty? hehe. My name is Elysa. Nice to meet you."
I greeted (feeling a little dumb) while pouring some water on your favorite flower of course. (what a coincidence)
I live in the north side of Galar, in a forest called Tempus forest. It's pretty isolated but if you've ever been there you might have seen a dark-haired girl err gnome, with messy hair and a blue cloak walking around, which was probably me.
The locals and me don't get many visitors, though it is pretty nice here. Wide meadows and tall green hills that get dressed in white gowns everytime winter comes.
Yep. It's beautiful. Sort of like a dreamscape.
As I return to my cave or "house-cave" as i call it, (since it has a wooden door and some furniture, you know the basics) I lay in the couch, ready to type some love-letters. These letters however are just made-up letters that I use as a tool to write stories from the point of view of a fictional character adressing another, so as to better understand relationships of any kind and...
learn how to love.
Even though there's no one here but me. Well...not anymore...but that's a story for another time. I guess "writing" is all that I do. Something is something I guess.
I suppose this time I could take the role of a high school fifteen year-old student writing to her ex-best friend.
That's kind of a theme in all of my letters. The person my character loves always ends up leaving in the end. Well...more like abandoning to pursue their own dreams. Except.. that character's dream was her best friend.
To be continued.
If you got this far, thank you tons.
