Equal punishments

CharmingsDaughter asked for a oneshot of Emma trying to cover for Rosie and they both get caught by Snowing. They both get punished even though Emma doesn't live with them anymore.

"It was an accident." Rosie whimpered as Emma tried to fit the pieces of the broken vase back together.

"Yes, Rosie, accidents do happen, but they tend to happen less when you're not practicing your dance moves in the living room." Emma told her. She suspected that's why her sister told her and not either of their parents.

"Can you fix it with your magic?" Rosie asked hopefully. Emma shook her head.

"Not without leaving marks like glue would. Sorry kid." Emma hated the way that made Rosie's face fall. "However, I do know what store they got this from. I'm pretty sure they'll have more in stock. I'll replace the vase and nobody will ever know…"

"Know what?" Came a voice from the doorway. Emma hastily made the broken pieces disappear.

"Nothing." Both sisters said together. Snow and Charming both looked at them suspiciously.

"This certainly doesn't seem like nothing." Charming pointed out. He looked around the room, trying to spot what was not right. His eyes fell upon an empty coffee table. He narrowed in on it. That shouldn't be empty. There should be something on it…

"Ah!" He said after working it out. "The vase is missing." Seeing the way both their daughters' suddenly looked terrified, he knew he was right.

"Emma, Rosie, what happened to the vase?" Snow asked them.

"Um…" Emma began. She was the oldest, she should take the hit. "It's my fault. I was goofing around and I knocked it over. I'm already making plans to replace it." She promised. Something about it didn't ring true. If Emma was the one who broke the vase, why did Rosie look so guilty.

"Rosie." Charming said sternly, looking at his youngest daughter. "Is this true." Rosie stayed quiet, biting her lip and looking at the floor. "Rosie." Charming repeated in a more dangerous tone. Rosie shook her head. Snow and Charming thought not.

"Tell us the truth please." Snow asked.

"I broke the vase." Rosie said quietly. "I know I shouldn't have been, but I was dancing in here. I accidentally knocked the vase over and asked Emma to help me fix it. I'm sorry." Rosie truly looked upset by the whole ordeal.

"Accidents happen, Rosie. Yes, you shouldn't have been dancing in the living room, but we're glad you just weren't hurt when the vase broke. What we're upset about is that the pair of you lied to us. So, here's what's going to happen. Rosie, you broke the vase, the replacement will come out of your allowance. You will also not be going out to play after school tomorrow or the next day. Emma…"

"Hold on a second." Emma said. "I was just trying to help out my little sister, and I don't actually live here." She reminded them.

"You think that will stop us?" Snow asked dangerously. "Emma, you will come round here for the next three days straight from work and help us with chores. Don't show up, if you dare. See how well that turns out for you." Snow challenged her. Emma gulped. Apparently not living at home didn't get her out of getting into trouble.
