Back at Sam's house, Penny had been busy taking care of Ellie while Sam was on his computer looking at the website for anything to help Ellie feel better. Just as Penny was checking her over, Sam heard someone knock on the back door from the Fire Station, he went to see who was there. It was Helen, she came by to see how Ellie was after she had taken care of Mandy. "Hello, Sam. I'm so sorry if I'm late." Helen said as she walked in.
Sam checked the time on his watch, then he closed the door and led Helen straight to where Ellie was. "Not a problem, Helen. I think you came just in time, Ellie's in the guest room with Penny." Sam replied
"Thanks, Sam. I'm sure that it won't be that bad."
"Me too, Helen. I'll show you where it is."
Sam and Helen soon walked into the kitchen to talk about Ellie. Penny was waiting for Sam to come back when she soon had seen the temperature on the thermometer, it was above normal reading 39 degrees Celsius. Penny soon reached in the bag for her stethoscope, she had known that Ellie had a fever. "Ellie, I can now see that you have a fever. So, I need to make sure there isn't anything else wrong with you. I just have to listen to your heart; it might be a little cold. Ok?" Penny said as she helped Ellie sit upright a little bit.
"Ok, Penny. I hope Sam is still around, I'm getting worried." replied Ellie.
Penny placed her hand on top of Ellie's to keep her calm. "Don't worry, Ellie. Sam's just gone to let Helen in, he won't be long."
Ellie soon began to feel like she was never left behind, she had been left behind before she joined the fire service. So, she looked at Penny and smiled. "Thanks, Penny."
"Anytime, Ellie."
Penny soon continued to take care of her newest firefighting partner. She knew it had been a few months since she joined as the new fire station was built.
Sam and Helen were still talking outside in the sitting room after Sam had cleaned it. He does not want to risk getting sick from Ellie while she is here. So, he managed to clean the sofa and pillows that were there. "So, Sam. How's Ellie doing right now?" Helen asked as she set her first aid kit down on the table.
Sam thought for a moment, then he realized that he had been taking care of her until Penny can help before Helen can arrive. "Well, I managed to bring her here as I was close to the Station. She was out on an emergency call as I was enjoying my day off." Sam replied.
"Well, it's a good job you noticed before calling me here. I was worried that she would be ill while at work."
"I think Elvis might've noticed before they left."
"Really? Well, I think I'll ask her once I get set up."
"Thanks, Helen. I'll let Penny know."
Sam went off to find Penny who was checking over Ellie. He was worried that Ellie had been ill for this long before she came to his house from the station. Penny was still in the guest room when she finished checking over Ellie, she soon found out that Ellie had been ill with an upset stomach. "There you go, Ellie. I'll be back as soon as I find Sam and Helen." She said as she passed the blanket to Ellie.
"Thanks, Penny." Replied Ellie tiredly
Penny soon started to store away her medical supplies in the first aid bag, but she paused for a moment and thought that Ellie could be ill with the flu. So, she had to find Sam and Helen, but she didn't want to leave Ellie alone. She decided to stay with her until Sam came back. As Penny was storing her medical supplies in the bag, Ellie began to move to her right side and called for Penny. "Penny, I think I need the bucket." Ellie called as she felt like she needed to throw up.
"Ok, I would look to your left. It's just on the floor by the bed." Penny replied.
Ellie reached for the bucket and managed to throw up in it just in time. Penny noticed that Ellie was very ill. So, she decided to help her keep calm, she did not want anything bad to happen to her. "Ellie, are you ok? I can see that you look upset." Penny said as she sat on the bed next to Ellie.
Ellie had soon felt bad as she didn't know what was going on. "Oh, Penny. I don't know what is happening to me. I felt fine yesterday, then last night I was asleep and then I came into the station with a cold, and now I'm here very ill. What is wrong with me?" she asked.
Penny saw that Ellie had tears in her eyes as she felt upset. She needed to find Sam but did not want to make it worse. So, she stayed with Ellie to keep her cool and calm. "Well, I think it could be a stomach ache, but I think we need to know what Helen tells us. I'll go and find her; I think Sam might be looking for us."
"Ok, Penny."
Just as Penny was about to walk out to find Helen, Sam came by. He needed to tell her that Helen was here and in the kitchen. "Ah, Penny. I'm surprised I forgot that you were here." he said as he walked in.
"Yes, Sam. I think Ellie has a stomach ache, but I need to see what Helen would say about this. I noticed that she was upset about what happened."
"Well, I just came to tell you that Helen has arrived. She's waiting for you to give her an update."
"Thanks, Sam. I'll be right behind you."
Penny grabbed her first aid bag and placed it over her shoulder with her stethoscope around her neck. She soon followed Sam to where Helen was, they were surprised that Ellie had been ill while at the fire station.
Meanwhile,
Elvis and Arnold were busy cleaning Jupiter when they heard the sound of the station alarm. They soon realized that Elvis had left the stew unattended again. "Oh no, my stew!" Elvis shouted as he ran to the kitchen.
Arnold followed him to the kitchen to grab a fire extinguisher and shut off the gas. "Gas is off, Elvis." he called
"Thanks, Arnold. I hope Station Officer Steele is not too upset that I set off the alarm."
Elvis was thinking about what Station Officer Steele was going to say. Just then, he walked in to smell the stew overcooked again. "GREAT TANGLED HOSES! What happened here, Cridlington?!" Station Officer Steele said, looking very cross at Elvis.
"Sorry, sir. I did it again, I was busy cleaning Jupiter when I heard the alarm. I didn't realize I had the stew on the cooker again."
"It'll be fine, Cridlington. It's a good job you remembered this time. Reminds me of the time you did the same thing when Norman Price threw a Paper Plane in the kitchen and set fire to the cooker."
"Really, sir."
"Yes, I think what I'll do now is that Arnold can help clear the mess and then you can start again, and this time, I will stay in the kitchen to keep an eye on the time if I were you."
"Right-o, sir."
Soon, Station Officer Steele left for his office while Arnold helped Elvis clear the mess in the kitchen. Elvis was still thinking about when Norman threw his paper plane in the kitchen before the new station was built on fire prevention day.
Back at Sam's house,
Penny and Sam came back from the guest room to find that Helen was still in the kitchen. She had found out that Ellie was very ill while at work. "Well, how is she right now, Penny?" Helen asked.
"She told me that she was fine yesterday, but she was soon starting to come down with a bad cold today at the fire station. Now she seems to feel upset that she forgot about it after she came into the station." Penny replied as she set the first aid bag down.
"Ok, I think I'll be the one who knows what made her ill. Can you come with me, Sam?" Helen asked as she went to see Ellie.
"Of course, Helen."
Sam and Helen went to find Ellie while Penny went to find something from Venus at the Fire Station. Ellie was still resting in the bed when Sam and Helen walked in. They walked over to the right of her and Helen set the first aid kit on the floor. Ellie soon began to open her eyes when she saw Sam right beside her with Helen. "Sam, what's going on?" she asked tiredly.
"Ellie, I brought Nurse Flood here so that she can find out what's making you ill. Don't worry, I'll be here if you need me." Sam said as he placed his hand on her shoulder.
"Thanks, Sam."
Helen soon found a thermometer that was in a plastic cup on the nightstand that Penny had left for her while Ellie was resting before she showed up. "Ok, Ellie. I know that Penny had taken a look at you, but I need to see if Penny was right. Can you do me a favor and try not to make it worse while I check you over?" Helen asked as she took Ellie's pulse.
"Sure, I just hope it's not too bad." Ellie replied.
"I hope so too, Ellie."
Soon, Helen began to check Ellie to see if Penny was right about what she told her. Sam decided to find a place to sit as long as he is where Ellie can be calling for him if needed.
Out in the kitchen,
Penny was on the phone with Bronwyn to see if she can make something for Ellie to have once she starts to feel better. "Hello, Bronwyn. It's Penny. I was wondering if you can whip something up for Ellie to enjoy once she starts to feel better." Penny said over the phone.
"Oh, of course, Penny. I can make her some soup that Sam had when he was ill a few years ago." Bronwyn replied.
"Great, I'll be here. Thanks, Bronwyn."
Penny and Bronwyn soon ended their call and Bronwyn started cooking the soup for Ellie. Penny was in the kitchen on the NHS website writing down the notes in her notepad while Sam was with Helen checking on Ellie. It had soon reached lunch across Pontypandy, Penny looked at the clock and decided to make some tea while Sam was busy with Helen taking care of Ellie in the guest room after she had been taken ill after an emergency.
