Regina was completely lost in her thoughts. Both Snow White and Emma were staring at her waiting for Regina to say at least something, but the brunette was in no place to speak. Her lungs were shrinking. It couldn't be him... not again!
It wasn't until recently that she finally felt like she was able to escape that hell of a past she had. Her demons were returning again... hunting her down and hunting her dreams and thoughts. She wouldn't dare close her eyes again at night. The brutal image of him would show up and that would make the pain she had been repressing for so long arise again.
She swallowed hard and tightened her grip on the couch. She had no idea how to respond... she was probably speechless. Snow White was about to speak when Regina stood up and exited the room. She looked white as a sheet... completely pale. The feeling of fear and terror was painted all over her face.
The dark circles underneath her eyes were even darker this time. That man made her look weak. Regina exited the room and Emma and Snow White looked at each other in shock. Emma couldn't help but tear up. That man was the end of her lover...
The very thought of him made the former sheriff boil in anger and need for revenge. She wanted to protect the former queen but she felt weak and powerless when it came to Robin's nonpareil intelligence and master mind plans. That man had ruined an entire hotel for what? A woman! But why?
Emma couldn't stop thinking about the reason why. Why would he make both Regina and Emma go undercover for a mission in Paris when he could just get revenge back in New York? He clearly wanted something more... there was something bigger behind all the possible reasons why Emma could come up with.
She had to get inside his head and read him. She had to come up with a rational explanation. There was no chance he was working alone... there was clearly another person helping him. Robin was evil, but he wasn't that smart. He might was a thief once, but not a murderer.
Snow placed her hand on her daughter's shaking palms and rubbed Emma's soft skin with her thumb softly.
"Have you told dad?"
She finally said and broke the silence that had been conquering the entire room till now. Thank the god Henry was asleep in the guest room... things were getting messed up and Emma wouldn't be able to handle Henry's curiosity at the moment.
"Tell him what?"
She asked with sadness written all over her face.
"About Regina."
"What do you mean?"
She asked again.
Snow winked and grinned slightly.
"It's obvious Emma."
Emma huffed gloomily and looked away.
"I'm a whore... and a terrible wife."
She admitted and tapped her fingers on the coffee table annoyed with herself. She fell in love with the wrong person... she dishonored her wedding wreath and vows for undying love.
"Oh Emma... your relationship with Killian had an expiration date since the very first day you met him. That man is so not for you. Plus... you have been always been in love with the mayor... I've seen the way you look at her. Maybe you two started hating each other when you first came in storybrooke and changed everything, but that hatred for each turned into a ardent love!"
Emma was speechless. She kept looking at her mother with wide eyes an a surprised look all over her face. She was actually astonished... It's so true when they say that a mother's instinct can never be wrong! Mums always know! They see everything and they have the magical ability to sense everything.
She bit her lips ashamed and then covered her face with both her palms.
"I'm about to ruin my family. Henry is gonna hate me forever... I have no idea how I'm gonna look at Killian and tell him! I'm a terrible person... he's gonna be so heartbroken."
She teared up and a couple of crystal clear tears escaped and run down her cheeks. Snow smiled warmly and pulled her daughter closer for a hug. She couldn't be prouder for Emma... such a self conscious and powerful young woman!
"Honey... The heart wants what it wants! If you love that woman go claim her. I know that a brand new chapter in your life seems completely frightening and dreadful but I promise that it all worths it in the end. In the end of the day... there's no more fulfilling feeling than sleeping with the person that manages to put a smile on your face even when you're feeling at your lowest."
Emma grinned through her tears and hugged her mother overwhelmed. That's what she needed. A reassurance that she wasn't walking into that path all alone... she needed support and someone to guide her and tell her that she's doing the right thing! Regina was the right thing for her! Regina was the magical person that she wanted to lay down next to her at the end of the day and cuddle all night long.
She needed the brunette... she needed her like a helpless person needs a vision of hope to carry on in life. She needed her like the human kind needs oxygen to live. She needed her like the flowers need the sun in order to photosynthesize.
"Maybe you're right... but now it's not the right time to discuss this with Killian. I'm so embarrassed to answer his video calls and look at him. I feel like my guilts are written all over my forehead."
Snow massaged her shoulders gently and smiled. At that moment David walked inside the suite holding a notebook on his right hand.
"What's up family?"
He smiled broadly with that blinding bright smile of his. Snow signaled him to approach and as soon as the prince approached them both women pulled him for a tight embrace.
"My two favorite people in the world."
He kissed their foreheads and smiled.
"So what's up dad? What did you find?"
Emma got it together and sat upright on the couch staring at the notebook her father was still holding.
"I gathered a couple of information from the kitchen crew. A guy named Eddie Samuel Gomez, the head chief of the restaurant told me about an incident he spotted... He saw Vanessa and Michael fighting in the bathroom a couple of hours before Michael was found dead from us. That makes me think that Vanessa might is involved in the entire case... after all she's not that mentally stable and mature to rule a hotel... she probably collaborated with Robin."
Emma narrowed her eyebrows and rubbed her chin skeptically. That couldn't be right. It wasn't Vanessa. As much as she wanted to believe that Vanessa was the second person behind all this she couldn't. Most of the evidence pointed at the owner of the hotel... but it couldn't be so easy and predictable.
"I don't think so dad."
"What's her alibi Emma?"
David asked all serious and crossed his hands under his chest looking at emma with -told you so- look on his face.
"I don't know. We can look at the security cameras. In case Michael doesn't leave the bathroom alone we'll eat sure that it was her. In case he left all alone though, that gives Vanessa an alibi. We can ask the members of the hotel crew about Vanessa's last actions last night."
David nodded his hand.
"I'm on it."
He grabbed his notebook again and left the room radiating confidence and security.
In the meantime Regina had been laying on her bed for a couple of hours now... she had placed her legs up on the wall and stared at the ceiling while her thoughts were completely blank. She pulled up her shirt and run her fingers on her still flat stomach. There was slight swell in the middle of her belly and she knew exactly what had been hiding underneath her skin for a couple of weeks now...
She was scared. She couldn't do this alone. She raised Henry all alone and she still recalls all the crazy nights she spent with him crying and throwing tantrums. She wasn't ready to become a single mum for once again.
She kept looking at the white ceiling when her phone started ringing underneath her pillow. The blaring sound startled her and made her curse annoyed. She grabbed the buzzing cellphone and pressed the answer button.
"Who is this?"
"Hello this is doctor Steven Castle! Is that Emma Swan?"
"No this is her partner Agent Mills. How did you find my number?"
She frowned and sat back on her butt.
"I called Killian Jones since I couldn't find Miss Emma's number and apparently he gave him yours."
Regina rolled her eyes. What a weasel fitch... she thought.
"Did you tell him why you were calling?"
"No. I just asked for Emma's number."
The coroner admitted.
"Okay good. What is it?"
"The results of the DNA test are ready. The DNA we found on the rum bottle perfectly matches with Killian's DNA."
Regina smiled evilly. That was exactly what she wanted to hear... Thank the god she was the first that found out... this time she had to find a way how to tell Emma. She couldn't keep keeping this as a secret... there were many things at stake! Their own lives.
Killian Jones collaborating with Robin Hood... that explained why they ended up in Paris... away... far away from Killian so he could do his dirty plans.
But still... it didn't make sense. Why Paris? Why now? Bust most of all why creating an entire case in order to hurt two people?
That was crazy!
"I see... okay... thank you for your services for once again! Have a good day!"
She hung up the phone relieved and took a deep breath. She grabbed her pillow and walked inside the living room hesitantly. Snow and Emma were still there sitting on the couch, watching tv.
"Hey darling... are you feeling any better?"
Snow asked her as soon as she noticed the brunette walking inside the room. She smiled warmly to make Regina feel better and told Regina to have a seat. Regina approached the two women and sat across them on the couch. She cleared her throat and shook her head.
"I'm so sorry Regina."
Emma said and held her hand.
"It's okay. I got this."
She said trying to make herself believe at her own words as well.
"I just want you to know that we are supporting you through this and you're not alone."
Snow exclaimed and smiled cheerily.
"I appreciate it. Swan we need to talk."
She said all serious.
"I'm gonna check up on Henry! He's asleep for four hours and I'm getting worried."
Snow said as an excuse and left the living room. Emma looked inside Regina's eyes looking for an answer that everything was really okay but Regina didn't look like she was gonna announce something beautiful.
"What is it?"
Emma asked again hesitant this time.
"Emma..."
She was about to speak when snow interrupted her with a loud scream. Both women run inside the main bedroom startled to look at Snow's terrified look.
"Please tell me that He's in the bathroom!"
"What is it?"
Regina asked and then looked at the empty bed and her jaw dropped. Where the hell was Henry?
She run inside the bathroom to realize that no one was inside. She looked inside every god damn room to realize that Henry was missing!
"Maybe he run away... he used to do that quite a lot when he was younger..."
Emma pointed out trying to remain calm and positive.
"No! No he wouldn't! He knew how upsetting that would be for us! He wouldn't... especially with two criminals out there! He wouldn't!"
She whispered trying to calm herself down but there was no way she could relax... her child was missing...
Who knows if he had actually run away! What if Robin went after him? Pretty possible huh?
