A/N: Sorry for taking so long, but I was in writer's block. But I'm starting to come out of it. Thank you for being patient and for supporting this fanfic! 3's for everybody! Hope you enjoy!
After bathing and I helped Sota out with his whole school situation, then went back to the shrine. Who knew kids his age were so obsessed with things like getting poisoned and all that junk? Kagome had already left for feudal Japan. How did he manage to do that? I was certain that she would have to wait a couple of hours so Eri, Yuka, and Ayumi wouldn't be suspicious. That didn't matter in the end though, I guess. I went out to the well and yawned. It was only around 10 o'clock. This is early for me.
"Bye Ms. Higurashi, bye Grandpa Higurashi." I said as I jumped down the well.
I could hear their "Goodbye" and "Be safe!" as I fell down the well.
I took a deep breath as I exited the well. No more ice cream for a while. I threw my legs over the edge of the well and stretched. I hopped onto the grass and looked around. Where would I go from here? I decided to go back to the village and see if Kagome was still around, though she probably wasn't. I couldn't help but wonder where Sesshomaru had gone. I expected him to scold me when I got back, but he didn't even appear. Maybe this was his form of punishment. It didn't really bother me though, so was it punishment? Then again, things are getting pretty dangerous around here, so he probably went somewhere without me since I was gone.
I found Kaede as soon as I went into the village.
"Ye did not leave with the others?" she asked me.
"I'm afraid not. They must have just left too."
"Indeed they have. As it would seem, they left in search of the last jewel shard."
"The last one… let me help you with that."
I took the basket of herbs that she was carrying.
"Thank ye. I am not as able as I was before." She commented.
"That happens as time passes, but you can rely on me to do some heavy lifting."
"I will hold ye to your word."
I carried the herbs back to her hut and then went hunting for her. I hated the thought, but got it over with as quickly as I could. I managed to catch a rabbit and some fish. I brought it back to Kaede by high noon.
"I'm going to go out and get some more firewood. If I don't come back, Sesshomaru probably came to get me."
"I understand. If I do not see ye again, travel safely."
"Thanks."
I left the hut and started off toward the outskirts of the village. On my way, I had borrowed an ax. I've never swung an ax in my life. It seemed like a fun, labor filled thing to do. I have horrible hand-eye coordination. I just hope I don't hurt myself. Once I found a nice little spot, I rolled up my sleeves and put my hair in a ponytail. I put both hands on the ax, and wound up to hack at the tree's side. I swung at the tree, but stopped inches away from its bark. The wind had stopped blowing.
"I didn't think you would come out so easily."
"So the bitch returns." I replied. "I'm not sure if I should still feel sorry for you."
"I don't need your pity."
"You don't deserve my pity."
"It must be a hassle for Sesshomaru to take care of you." Kagura commented.
She was surprised when she had to move her stupid feather to avoid catching an ax in her skull. And I thought I didn't have any hand-eye coordination!
"It most certainly is!"
"You bitch!"
"Oh, did I hurt your feelings?"
"I don't understand what he sees in you."
"What you don't have, obviously."
"Do you have a smart remark for everything I say?"
"No. Why would I waste my time thinking about something for you?"
She pulled her fan out, and threw a gust of wind. I back flipped into a tree easily.
"Was that aimed for me?"
"Just a warm up!"
She wasn't kidding. From that moment, it was rapid fire. I was able to avoid getting hit, and that seemed to anger her. It was fun watching her tire herself out. When Kagura decided to take a break and breathe, I jumped up to her level and knocked her off of that stupid feather.
"No flying away today!" I told her as I pinned her arms down. "What game should we play now? I'm tired of this one."
"Get off of me you disgusting wretch!"
"Aww! You're huwtwing my fweewings!" I kidded.
"Then allow me to take away your sense of feeling."
Before I could even face where the voice had come from, I was kicked off of Kagura. I rolled on the ground, stirring the dirt before getting back on my feet. When I looked up, I was met by another Dance of Blades. I jumped out of its way, just in time to catch a knee from Hakudoshi. I couldn't stop myself from crumpling onto the ground. After struggling for a minute, I managed to get on one knee, but was smacked back into a tree by Hakudoshi's naginata handle. When my back hit the tree, I felt all sense of feeling leave my nerves. I couldn't get air back into my lungs, but I could see little Shippos running around in circles for a few seconds.
"I expected more." He admitted as he walked away.
I tried to sit up, but failed. I would need a lot more time before I would be able to move again. I saw the ground get farther from me. Before long, I realized that I was on Kagura's plume. I should have known that their objection was to kidnap me. If they wanted me dead, Hakudoshi would have just stabbed me. They probably wanted to make sure Sesshomaru did something they wanted. Knowing where the anime is right now, they were most likely trying to lure him to the gate that led to the underworld.
To see if my body was feeling a little better, I tried moving. I could tell that I wasn't and that I shouldn't move anymore because of the pain I felt in my lower abs and back. Damn! He'd thrown me at a tree almost as hard as Sesshomaru did! I wanted to hold my body as tightly as I could, but moving any limb, voluntarily or involuntarily, caused enough pain to make my eyes teary.
When we were near the cave that held the gate Hakudoshi got out of the feather. He instructed Kagura to lure Sesshomaru to the gate before going in. She seemed to hate taking orders from the kid, but he had a hold on her heart as well. She eventually left with me. I spoke to her after we flew around a mile of distance from the kid.
"You know he's just using you to test the gate, right?"
"What do you know about him?" she asked with venom soaking each word.
"A lot." I coughed, effectively making me wince.
"You just want a way out of this."
"While that's true, I'm telling you because I don't want to get turned into stone."
"Your words won't deceive me."
"Don't be upset when you realize that I wasn't lying."
"I don't need you worthless words."
I couldn't say anymore. The pain from the bumpy ride was too big for my tired frame.
When we got to the cave, Kagura flew in with a small demon army and without a second thought. Less than ten minutes later, we had Sesshomaru present. He looked positively pissed if I do say so myself. He's probably thinking, 'This idiot went and got herself kidnapped, but that idiot went and hurt her. I'm funna put a cap in her head.' Only in more… sophisticated wording. I don't have time to think of daintiness, not while this witch is around.
"If it isn't Lord Sesshomaru." She said, stressing the lord part.
"Release her." Sesshomaru commanded, not caring about the demons that surrounded Kagura.
"Now, now! We've only just begun. Why not wait for a while?!"
She pointed her fan and Sesshomaru, and the demons behind her rushed to fight Sesshomaru. He got rid of the demons post-haste. When the gate to the netherworld opened, Kagura dropped me from her feather and rushed to enter. Sesshomaru caught me as I watched Kagura and the rest of her demons run off to become stone. When Kagura realized what was happening, she turned around and fled. I had warned the idiot.
I was feeling better, and was able to move. He set me down and examined what I was wearing. I was wearing a pair of Kagome's gray jeans and a light pink off the shoulder shirt. I'd also gotten a pair of heart earrings, a golden locket, silver bracelets, and some gray boots. By now, my jeans were ripped, and my shirt and boots were dirty. At least the jewelry stayed in tack I guess.
