"What did I expect you to do?!"
She widened open her eyes as anger made her blood boil inside her veins... Her heart raced as she noticed the guilty look on the blond'a face. Her knuckles were turning white from the amount of person she was creating by tightening the grip on her purse's handles.
She took a deep breath almost pleading herself not to explode in anger.
"Well... I'll tell you what I did not expect at all! You moving on that quickly when a couple of months ago you were promising the world to me!"
She finally admitted out loud and sighted.
"You broke my heart. You betrayed me... you betrayed both me and our son Regina! You risked our lives because you hesitated to tell me the truth! Do you understand that Henry could get killed? How am I supposed to love a person who almost got me and my little boy killed? How am I supposed to love a monster?"
Ouch... that was harsh... To be honest it wasn't the usual clam side of Emma's speaking. She couldn't concentrate on being relaxed when her heart was that broken. The mayor had changed her as well... in a good way. Regina made Emma fall in love again and cherish Regina's pros and cons. She didn't actually care about Regina's past anymore since that was a chapter in their lives that was long ago over.
She was heartbroken though. She used to be an orphan. She grew up without any family and friends. She was a lonely little girl that fumbled for a family to love her and when she finally did she lost them all over again. Her life was never easy and sometimes especially during night time she would stay up late holding a glass of wine thinking of what she did wrong to deserve that faith.
Regina changed the way she used to see things. Till she reunited with the former queen at that case in Paris she used to think that being with Killian was her happy ending. Even if she was blinded by her virtual happiness that Killian was the best thing she ever had in her life deep inside her she knew that there was a piece of the puzzle missing. Regina taught her how to love purely and how to fight for someone that she really cared about. She had never seen herself craving a person that much. That's probably why she got so furious when Regina betrayed her.
She was done with people turning their backs on her and making mistakes. She didn't feel like she had the strength to keep forgiving anymore. She just needed a dose of relaxation and happiness but when she finally got that everything got torn apart again.
"Look, I came all the way here to apologise for one last time. Since you're busy... I don't really think I got a reason to be here. I wish you a good life Miss Swan. You deserve this... see you at court."
"That's right.. Walk away again Regina cause that's what you are! A coward! Let me tell you something... if you actually loved Henry that much I doubt that you would ever let me take him here with me! You wouldn't even bother waiting until that trail! But you're selfish and egocentric that you're too proud to drop your strong mask for once in your god damn life and let people in! Maybe for once in your life you should stop blaming others for your mistakes. Take a look in the mirror after all. Look at you. Do you think that being proud and strong is more important than your family? If that's so... then good luck with the rest of your life. I'm sorry for you."
Emma crossed her hands under her chest and lowered her sight on the ground. She realised that her words were stabbing Regina like a knife but it was way too late to control what was coming out of her mouth. The brunette woman gulped in shame and nodded her head.
"Maybe you're right. But it doesn't matter anymore does it? You won Emma! You finally won... good job."
She replied with an ironic tone in her husky voice and turned around. At the same time Barbara was approaching the house with a fierce look in her eyes. Envy was written all over her face as soon as she noticed Regina's face. She didn't even have to tell her what happened. Barbara already knew. She had predicted that fight hours earlier. She run towards Emma's yard and grabbed Regina's hand pulling her towards the parked Mercedes.
"FUCK YOU SWAN! SEE YOU AT COURT YOU TWAT!"
Barbara screamed at the top of her lungs raising her middle finger up in the air. Regina widened her eyes open looking at her friend with surprise all over her face. Emma didn't seem to be bothered. She just gave them an ironic smile and slammed the front door of her house shut.
"HEY! YOU DON'T GET TO WALK AWAY FROM
THIS FIGHT UNTIL I SAY SO! WE ARE SOOO NOT OVER! YOU DON'T GET TO MESS WITH BRUNETTES AND GET AWAY!"
Barbara was about to run towards Emma's door but thankfully Regina managed to grab her from the elbow and push her inside the car. She jumped inside as well and started the engine quickly before Barbara cleared her throat and spitted annoyed on Emma's grass.
"BOLLOCKS! That bitch doesn't have the right to speak to you like that! Why didn't you throw a fireball at her? SO FRUSTRATING!"
She groaned loudly as she put on her seatbelt and twisted on the seat to find a comfortable place for her sore muscles.
"Relax..."
Regina mumbled keeping her eyes on the road.
"No seriously! I won't say I told you so cause I'm way too angry right now. We're going to kick her ass in court I promise! You need to start dating again girl! I got that friend named Alan! He's a lawyer and pretty wealthy and charming as well. I could easily arrange you two going out for dinner to get to know each other. You would have been the perfect match."
Regina rolled her eyes as she started the engine and held the wheel tight inside her shaky palms.
"I don't need a date for now. I think I'll be spending some time with my self for the time being."
She forced a smirk and and kept her eyes on the road. She wasn't capable to multitask at the moment by driving and forcing herself to stay awake while talking to Barbara after her huge fight with Miss swan. She just wanted to put on some sad music and sit there all by herself.
Barbara couldn't stop bubbling though.
"Why not?!? You look like you could use some sex! Come on girl. You gotta treat your queen right."
She winked naughtily and Regina finally looked at her in shock. Barbara's spontaneous way of thinking and acting always surprised her. She was never used to have such relationship with someone... I guess that's the way besties act right? She thought to herself and grimaced in annoyance.
Letting people close made her feel even more insecure but she needed Barbara. No matter how annoying she could she finally had to admit to herself that she needed at least on person around to keep her sane.
"None of your business okay? Trust me I'm fine. I should focus on being a mother and designing the nursery room. I shouldn't be trying to earn Emma's trust back. It's a big waste of time... plus it's pretty painful..."
She looked away and her muscles tightened.
Barbara glanced over her with a sneaky look on her face and just shook her head.
"Okay, whatever you say queenie."
She laughed and crossed her fingers behind her back. Regina needed to move on, and what's the best way to make a woman like Regina forget Emma? She had to make her fall for Alan!
A couple of hours passed and they finally reached New York again. Darkness had spread all over the city as night time had finally arrived. Nighttime was Regina's favourite time of the day to be honest. It was the only time of the day when she had the chance to sit around her lovely and carefully designed living room and enjoy -Deadly Women- on tv.
She walked inside her house and threw her purse over the kitchen counter. She took a deep breath as she looked around the spacious living room and took off her heels while she let out a silent moan. Her feet finally felt relieved. She took off her clothes and laid them carefully on the chair in order not to get creased. She put on her red robe instead and laid on the black velvet couch turning on the tv. A glass of red wine would perfectly match the entire situation now or should I say an entire bottle of wine in order she would forget her pain... but that little creature inside of her wouldn't allow that.
She served herself a glass of hot cocoa and enjoyed the rest of the night lost in her thoughts while watching her favourite TV show. At the same time over the Swan residence, Emma's friend finally left the house and Emma was finally left alone with Henry.
They all got the chance to eat dinner together so Henry could get to know of Amy. The mood in the house was quite relaxing, since they spent an entire evening laughing at Amy's good sense of humour and stories. Henry seemed to like her although it was pretty clear that Regina was irreplaceable. No matter how many wonderful women Emma would meet no one would be as good as Regina. And no one would be as unique towards Henry as Regina was.
The little boy pretended to be excited every god dam time Emma brought a new girl in the house but deep inside him her just wished that the front door would suddenly open up and his mum would run inside asking for his hug. He missed her... he loved his new life with Emma, and he finally felt safe and regular but Regina's unique way of treating him made him feel empty. He would never admit that out loud tho. He wouldn't even let his inter thoughts process that fact. He preferred to keep lying to himself and changing the subject than admitting the ugly truth.
Henry had just fallen asleep when Emma finally reached the kitchen to wash the pile of dirty dishes in the sink. She spread soap all over the sponge when she heard three knocks on the door. She furrowed and looked over the wall clock to find out that it was after midnight. Who the hell had decided to pay her visit such time? Maybe it was Amy forgetting her car keys again...
She approached the front door holding the kitchen knife tight inside her fists when she opened the door to see a pretty familiar face looking at her all seriously.
"Gold?"
"Missed me Deary?"
Gold admitted and smirked greedily.
Emma looked around the house and then back at him in confusion.
"Can I help you? Had no idea you were in town."
"I just found out about you moving here as well. My neighbour Anna let me know about that new girl in town and I immediately recognised your description."
He smiled weirdly and examined Emma from head to toes. These two never used to talk much. He was a lonely and weird man... and she... well she belonged with the charmings. And Gold was never the most reliable person in storybrooke. She preferred to keep her distances.
"Aren't you gonna invite an old friend inside?"
He asked in smoky voice and lit a cigarette while he was still standing there.
"Ugh... it's after midnight."
"I just came over to give you a piece of advice and a tiny information."
Emma narrowed her eyes trying her best to read his mind. Didn't look like he intended to do anything bad. He just seemed weird... as always.
"Anyway... come in. Can I get you anything?"
"A glass of rum would be nice."
The former sheriff rolled her eyes and walked in the kitchen to grab the bottle of rum. Within a couple of seconds she was back in the living room serving the older man a glass of rum and then sat across him with her legs crossed.
"So? What's that important that couldn't wait for tomorrow morning?"
"I heard about your little trip in Paris..."
He started and lowered his voice..
-Sorry for the delay guys but I'm struggling here with homework. Next part will be out soon.
