The former sheriff shrugged her shoulders as she started walking inside the dark aisle, as she tried to focus her sight at the front. On her right and left there were doors with prisoners locked up behind them, calling out names, and making naughty comments about her.
She rolled her eyes and held her head high trying to show these people that she wasn't a weak little girl. She was here for good and she wouldn't leave if he didn't tell her what she wanted to hear. She finally reached the number of the cell that the police officer had told her, to see that this area was the darkest area in the entire building. There was not a single window in there, and the amount of darkness covering the area was almost suffocating.
She couldn't see anything, but she narrowed her eyes and turned on a lighter she found in her pocket. There was him... he was sitting on the cold ground hugging his knees completely shirtless. He was wearing his black shorts, but his feet remained bare and the rest of his body exposed as well.
Emma approached the bars tapping her fingernails on them to make a sound, when he finally raised his face looking at her filled up with hatred and anger inside of his ocean eyes. He didn't move a muscle tho... he didn't seem like he was in place to anyway. Many parts of his back and arms were covered up with marks...
Probably the prisoner life wasn't that easy... it wasn't all fun and games. He had to deal with hundreds of psychos and criminals daily, when many of them were way worse than him.
"I expected you."
He whispered through his dry lips as Emma kneeled down on the floor next to him pressing her finger against the lighter's button in order to keep watching the man across moving and speaking.
"You did?"
She asked and frowned while her voice remained soft. She was pretty sure that the first time to see him after what happened would make her explode in anger and hatred and just punch his face or slit his throat for what he did, but no. She couldn't feel more sorry about him.
I mean... she knew that he was a criminal! He committed multiple crimes and he endangered so many lives but deep inside of him he was way too blinded to face the reality and understand the consequences of his actions.
He had went through a lot as well... losing your brother and the love of your life is not an easy thing to deal with!
"A little birdie told me."
He continued concentrating his blue orbs on the ground avoiding to look at emma.
"Would that little birdie be Gold?"
Killian laughed ironically when he chocked on his own saliva and started coughing.
"I don't know Swan.
"I'm surprised you made it pirate."
"Let's say that I have friends in high places... what do you want from here? Did you come here to laugh at me? Did you come here to watch me suffer while you're going to bribe the guards to hurt me even more? Do it! I don't care! I have no purpose anymore... and I absolutely hate to see that you're okay."
His ego was way too big, but at the same time you could see the terror in his voice trying to escape. He was scared... and he was embarrassed to let people see him so useless and helpless.
"I'm flattered. Anyway, I just wanted to ask you a question."
"And what makes you think that I'm gonna answer?"
He crossed his hands underneath his chest hiding two of the biggest scar marks on his body and looked away.
"I'm still the sheriff. I'm still working as an agent, and in case you behave in here for the next year I can get you out of here quicker than you think. All you need is to be honest and behave."
"I hurt you. I almost got Henry and Regina killed and you think that I'm gonna fall for your lies? You would never get me out of here anyway! You hate me too much... can't blame you."
The former saviour pressed her lips together in sympathy. She smiled slightly as she held the bars and pulled herself closer to him.
"I thought you were better than this. Anyway, I tried to make a deal here but since you like prison so much enjoy your stay!"
"Wait!"
He cold voice echoed in the room as he sat up on his ass approaching the bars with an evil grin spreading on his face.
"What do you want to know? Is it about the crocodile?"
He smirked and raised an eyebrow. Emma sighted and sat across him nodding her head. At this point her finger was in so much pain, that the fire was almost burning her skin. She tried to use another finger and light the lighter again to see killians face.
"How is he involved in this? What did he do?"
She demanded to know her voice almost trembling.
"The question love is... what did Regina do? Gold did nothing... if someone's hiding something that would be the queen."
"How do you know?"
"Let's say that a little birdie again told me."
He smiled evilly and played with his fingers.
"Are you planning to tell me what Regina did?"
She frowned looking at him in confusion.
Silence covered the room as Killian looked at emma with a wide smile on his face, when a growl that became a loud cheering laugh followed.
"Fuck you Swan! Do you think that I created all this chaos to help you know?"
"You're mental..."
"And you're in so much trouble!"
He winked and blew the fire off the lighter.
"It's time you leave."
He growled and dragged himself at the inner corner of the small cage hugging his knees again. Emma sighted as she stood up and grabbed her purse. She should have known... she should have known that Killian wouldn't be that much of a help.
The next day came with Alan waking up from the sun rays entering his room and landing straight on his eyes. He grimaced in annoyance as he turned around raising his hand to touch the sleeping beauty next to him to only realise that the bed was empty.
He flickered his eyes open looking around the room, to find out that all of Regina's clothes and Regina herself were missing. She had left... he looked at the wall clock to see that it was only 6:00AM!
-Regina's side-
The old time classic annoying sound of Barbara's horn echoed outside of her house as she opened the front door and walked outside smiling broadly at her friend. She was holding a cup of warm coffee on her left hand completely radiating as she sat down gracefully at the front seat in the dark Peugeot.
"Thanks for picking me up for work."
"What happened to your car?"
Barbara frowned as she put on her seat belt and started the car.
"I run out of gas and I didn't have the time to go over the gas station for a refill."
"Aha... so how was last night?"
Barbara asked with a cold look on her face as she kept her eyes on the road.
"Nothing."
Regina mumbled and drunk a sip of her warm coffee allowing the liquid to warm her tongue and lungs as it slipped down her throat.
"Bitch Alan called me!"
The other woman admitted and rolled her eyes.
"You two fucked."
Barbara continued and rolled her eyes.
"Well is that a bad thing?"
"Yes it is!"
"Why is that a bad thing? People are screwing with each other and have one night stands all the time."
She fought back.
"Well you left him! You left him hanging!"
"I had to get ready for work Barbara!"
"You could have left him a note!"
She argued and rolled her eyes.
"He's my friend Regina you know that! He kept texting me all morning about how you fucked hon last night and left him hanging today! He's a good guy and he doesn't deserve this."
"First of all he's the one that fucked me! He's the one with a penis!"
She rolled her eyes trying to repress the truth and looked outside of the car window letting the cold air hitting her face and calm her down.
"You know what I mean... why did you leave Regina? I know you! This is not you!"
"I... I just think that dating is not for me right now. I mean look at me... I look like a whale, I have a trail very soon in which I'm gonna certainly lose all rights to see my son, and then... well.. I'm pretty fucked up right now. He's a good guy indeed... he's so sweet and erotic but..."
She stopped and shut her eyes to hold back her tears. No it's not the time to break down and start sobbing while recalling all the memories she had with that woman... and Henry. She breathed in and out getting her shit together and looked back at Barbara.
"You kept thinking about her..."
Barbara mumbled and held Regina's hand tight.
"Sweetie, maybe you should give yourself some time. Your roller coaster hormones are definitely not helpful at all when it comes at getting over Emma Swan."
Regina just nodded her head.
"When is the court?"
"Tomorrow morning."
She mumbled as well playing with her fingers.
"Do you have a good lawyer?"
"I do. But he won't be able to help."
"What? Why?"
"Emma is gonna bring up things from my past Barbara! She's not gonna tell 100% of the truth since... describing at the judge fairytale incidents won't make us look normal at all... but I commuted many crimes. And I tortured Henry as well. She's gonna win the trail and there's no chance my lawyer can help me."
Barbara squeezed Regina's hand and gave her a sympathetic smile.
"I'm sorry... but I'm gonna testify!"
She smiled proudly to cheer up her friend but Regina just looked outside of the window and couldn't help it anymore. She let out a sob and and hid her face between her palms.
"Hey hey no. Look at me! It's going to be okay! I bet many people that love you and support you are gonna show up and have your back dear! There's no need to already feel like you failed!"
She shook Regina's shoulders and pulled her closer as she tried her best to drive steadily and support Regina as well.
Regina nodded her head as she wiped away her tears.
"What friends?"
Barbara smirked.
"Well I don't care I'm your friend! All the rest of the FBI are here for you."
"Great now I'm gonna lose my job as well.. FBI agent committing crimes... perfect headline for the news."
"Just shut up and be positive for once. I believe that miracles can happen."
She gave Regina a charming smiled as she run her fingers over Regina's swollen stomach.
"How's that little one?"
"Active. Very active."
"The father was a hunter aka thief and the mother is a queen. Of course it's active and energised. Now tell me... did you reach your climax? Was he good? Cause if he doesn't treat the princess right he doesn't deserve the queen!"
She made a duckface with her lips at the end bf of the phrase and then started bubbling and laughing at the same time!
"Holly shit you're crazy! Stop it!"
"I get it queenie! You're old school!"
Regina gave Barbara a death stare.
"He did his job alright."
She winked mysteriously as they kept driving to work...
To be continued! Thank you for your patience guys!
