She jumped off the cliff for the boy. Going after her would be the worst thing to do in this situation, and it pained me to think so. If I were to leave my battle, it would leave Rin and myself vulnerable. Instead of making themselves useful, the half-breed and his pack simply stared at where she had jumped, wide mouthed. Did it not occur to them to go after her? Seeing that I am the only one that can help her, I must finish this quickly.
"I've never seen someone so foolish." Shishinki commented in the midst of our battle. "To sacrifice herself in vain, trying to save a child."
He is saying that she is dead. She cannot be dead. She would not have jumped if she could not survive. She is smart enough to know what she can and cannot do.
"I didn't think you would let your marked go so easily, Sesshomaru. I guess you were tired of the woman."
I had had enough of his words. It is because of him that I was unable to stop her. He would pay with his life. I saw the path behind him and cut at it. A completed Medio Zengetuha formed behind Shishinki and swallowed him into the underworld. After watching the scene, I prepared to descend the mountain to look for the one whom belongs to me, yet another nuisance blocked my way.
"How could you let her jump?!" The hanyou yelled.
"I did not see you in battle." I said as calmly as I could.
"The battle wasn't that important! Now Kazumi might be-"
"Hold your tongue, Hanyou!" I instructed.
A hanyou, lecturing me? I would not have it. The Tenseiga showed me the path to the underworld once more, and so I used it, sending the hanyou to hell. I tried to leave after doing so, but the Tenseiga pulsed. It wanted to follow InuYasha, and so I let it. I let the sword glide into the Medio, not willing to waste any more time.
"Jaken, do not let any harm come to Rin." I commanded. "Otherwise, you will meet the same fate as Shishinki."
The imp nodded vigorously before I left. She would have drifted down river by now, so I started my search down the river. I did not come across any sign of her. When I finally did come across a sign, it was not what I wanted. The top layer of her kimono was caught on a rock. I picked the layer from the river, and held it. I couldn't even pick up her scent from the cloth. The best I could do with it was hold onto it, cherishing that fact that she had worn it. This woman has changed me, and has become one of my two weaknesses, yet I cannot let her go. The thought of it angers me. I would never let her go, not even to her resting place. I would personally go to the Kamis and retrieve the tenshi they dared to take away from me.
