Authors note: chapter six for y'all. Hope you enjoy it!
Now at about the same time the Frunze and Diamond were engaging Ohio, Nitze had been sent on a mission by Frunze to acquire more candidates for hybridization. though he didn't exactly specify how she needed to get them. So she decided the best plan was just to kidnap some people from the mainland rather than luring some ships out to fight.
Now the way she had gotten onto the mainland wasn't by her helicopters or RHIB, instead she chose to walk on the seafloor to the coastline. Now Nitze was walking along the coastline towards a fishing town that she saw when she was scouting for places to go.
Now as she was on the outskirts of the town she started to look around for possible candidates to kidnap. But soon she decided it'd be good to just walk through the streets rather than looking weird from watching from the Shadows. Though now as she walked down the streets she got a few curious looks, from how she looked. It isn't every day that you see a person with purple colored eyes.
Though now she soon walked into that of a neighborhood. She walked on the streets like she was just taking a casual stroll, it was surprisingly quiet as she walked. She made a few mini scout helicopters to look in the windows of houses and mark out ones of interest. Until she had a few marked out, mainly for their lack of security.
Now she continued to do so for quite a while marking out different houses that she'd come to later. She prepared several helicopters on her ship to do the transportation, all she needed to do is get them there. But something went a little wrong after she returned to the main fishing town with where the shops were.
She was walking down the street happily humming a tune as she went towards the marina. Then she heard some shouting from behind her. At first she couldn't make out what they said but soon he could hear a man yelling at the top of his lungs.
"Lookout little girl! Get out of the way!"
When she turned around she saw a car that was swerving around uncontrollably. A normal human would barely have enough time to get out of the way, but Nitze wasn't human, though she didn't jump out of the way. Instead she instinctively activated her Klein field, so the car barreled towards her and slammed into her Klein field resulting in the car getting squished from the impact, and the person inside didn't look alive anymore.
A human would normally be very scared at this point, but not Nitze. She was still her normal cheerful self, and she could barely contain herself from flaunting the strength of a Phantom Fleet. She almost yelled out not to mess with her, but she held herself back to try and not blow her cover, but from what she just did it was kinda impossible to stay undercover.
When the car hit her Klein field it lit it up completely, hexagonal panels all surrounding her body. And well there were tons of people watching her when this happened, so understandably her cover was blown. There was a moment of silence before someone yelled out in panic.
"Sh- she's a Fog!"
A collective panic ensued as many people tried to flee from the area seeing as to what Nitze was. Though some people didn't flee from the area and instead rushed towards her to try and pin her to the ground, they were stopped by her Klein field which protected her from their assault.
She was surrounded on all sides by about a dozen or so people, mainly civilians who hated the Fog and wanted revenge for their actions, and some were just police who were trying to capture her. But now they were all pushed away from her, as she expanded her Klein field to push them all back, it also pushed the car away from where she was. Some people were knocked to the ground from what she did, but others weren't, and tried many different manners of getting through her Klein field.
She giggled a bit and said in a playful voice said "well then seems that I can't do what I wanted to, so I'll just have to do what I can right now"
Then one of the men who was punching at her Klein field was surprised when one of his punches actually got through.
"Hey, I got through! Your little shield isn't so unbrea- Ah!"
But Nitze let him go through as she grabbed his arm and pulled him towards herself. She quickly wrapped him with what looked like a silver band, that was actually made out of nanomaterials, so that his arms were forced to his torso.
"There's one candidate, annnnd here's another" Nitze said playfully as she started to do it over and over again till about six people were trapped like that.
Now many people started to run away from Nitze, as she started to catch them with ease. Nitze rested the six men captured against the car that was tossed some ways away from her when it originally hit her. She walked cheerfully down the street to catch a few more people before she would go back to the fleet.
It was actually quite scary, not just because she was a mental model, but also because of how she was acting. As she casually strolled down the street she hummed a little tune to herself.
Now as she walked in the middle of the street, the town looked completely abandoned as many people were trying to hide from her.
"Come out, come out wherever you are!" Nitze yelled in a playful voice like she was playing a normal game of hide and seek.
But no one went out to her, and she started searching the town for more people. At first she didn't bother going in buildings, as she wanted to see if there was anyone outside that she could capture. But after several minutes she found no one outside and was now walking back to where she had left the six men tied up.
Now she could see the car where the men were, but before she made it there the back of her Klein field lit up, and now she had smoke all around her. She turned around and saw a tank, apparently the news of a mental model on land had reached the army, and they sent what they could to subdue her.
Nitze smiled happily at the sight of the tank, and could actually see a few soldiers swarming beside it. Then she could hear a man speaking on a bull horn.
"Fog mental model, surrender now and you shall not be harmed" came the man.
But now Nitze spoke up in a voice that wouldn't be possible for a human to do. "I'm a Phantom, not a Fog. Oh! and I think you got it all wrong mister. I'm the one who's supposed to give the orders right now. So how about you lower your weapons and peacefully become my prisoners?"
Nitze could immediately see their response as the tank shot another shell at her, which just hit her Klein field again, causing minimal damage. Nitze just happily smiles a bit and runs towards the tank at superhuman speed. Bullets kept impacting her Klein field but do little damage to it.
In an instant she was at the tank and grabbed it. What happens next no one expected, as Nitze ripped the tank open, and reached in pulling first the driver, then the captain out of it. She used the nanomaterial bands from before, to tie them up.
Both of the men were protected from the gun fire by Nitze's Klein field that was taking the brunt of the gun fire. But now something happened that the soldiers thought was a saving grace. An attack helicopter arrived there and hovered just above the street, its Gatling gun in the standard position.
The soldiers stop firing and the man from before spoke again, this time without the bull horn, though he still yelled over the sound of the helicopter.
"This is your last chance, Fog. Surrender, we have you out gunned!"
Now Nitze giggles a bit as she easily picks up the two men who were in the tank, though they were squirming to get out of her grip, and walks a bit towards the helicopter. "Oh, you're getting everything so wrong, you know?" She says in a playful voice "that helicopter is mine. See?"
After she says that they look to the helicopter again and saw it changing. Like with Frunze's ship, the helicopter went from looking like a normal human helicopter to one that has marks all along it.
"Now then, I'll be nice and give you a few choices since I believe I have enough guys for now. One, you can all surrender and come to my ship for a little something special. Two, you can lower your weapons and let me leave peacefully with the men I have here, and behind that car over there. Or three… I tell my helicopter to kill all of you"
The soldiers were all stunned by what had happened with the helicopter and couldn't believe that it was actually Nitze'.
"So?" Nitze asks
"What do you plan on doing with them?" One soldier asks.
"That is for me to know, and you to find out" Nitze responds.
The soldier looked at her for a moment, then at the helicopter before he spoke.
"Everyone stand down! Let this Fog go… for now. We'll let you go peacefully"
"Great!" Nitze chirps, as the faint sound of another helicopter could be heard near the marina. "Ah! There's my transport! Time to go. I'm sure we'll meet again, mister soldier!" Nitze says as she happily walked towards the marina.
The soldiers couldn't really do anything, as if they tried the helicopter would just kill them instantly. So they just watched from a distance as Nitze loaded the captured men onto her helicopter. After a few minutes Nitze was done with putting the men aboard and sent her helicopter away. But she didn't go on that helicopter, instead she jumped at least fifty feet into the air to her attack helicopter, and seemed to defy gravity by standing on it upside down.
"Bye, bye soldiers!" Nitze cheerfully yelled down to them before her helicopter turned away, and flew away.

Now after some time Nitze had scouted out another area to get candidates for hybridization, but this time she didn't want a confrontation like before. So she made sure to stay hidden.
Now she was farther north and slightly more inland than before, in what looked to be a park like Yellowstone, though it wasn't Yellowstone.
She was watching people from the brush and hid herself whenever it looked like someone had spotted her. To the people on the paths, they just took her as a kid messing around. Though now soon she came upon something very interesting.
There was a group of three boys, who looked to be somewhere in their teens, who purposely went off the trail. She followed them from a distance that they couldn't spot her. She wanted to wait till they were far enough away from the main trail to show herself to take them to her ship. But then she could hear screaming, and the roar of a bear.
The boys ran for safety as they got a little too close to a grizzly bear, and now the bear was running after them. But they were running further from the main path. Nitze followed behind, before she decided it was far enough to take the three boys. All she needed to do was take out the bear, which was actually incredibly easy, as she just summoned a blade out of nanomaterials and stabbed the bear to death.
The three boys were panting in a little open part of the forest at the edge of a low sloping hill. They were out of breath and scared, as every little sound made them flinch.
"Is it gone?" Said one, who was the shortest of the three.
"I don't know… hey wait where's the trail?" The one with dark blond hair said sounding panicked as they had lost the main path completely.
Then the three of them heard rustling from a bush and jumped back.
"Come on guys, let's take it on like men" one with brown hair said.
The other two nodded and all three of them prepared to fight to the death, though they'd probably actually run if it was the bear, but it wasn't the bear. Instead Nitze soon stepped out of the bush, no longer having the blade that she used on the bear.
Almost immediately the boys were enamored by her, because she was quite pretty, and we all know what boys of their age think of pretty girls.
"Ah there, I found you three" Nitze said as she brushed a few leaves off of her dress. "Don't worry that bear won't hurt you now"
The three just stared at her mouths wide open mainly because she was a pretty girl, and it seemed that she was the one to save them.
"Uh… who are you?" The one with Brown hair said.
"Oh! I'm Nitze, of the Arleigh Burke class destroyer" Nitze proclaimed proudly, though quickly realized her slip up.
The three paused and looked at each other for a moment.
"Hey Jacob, didn't your father say that The Fog were warships?" The brown haired one asked.
"Yeah he did. Why do you ask?" Jacob said, who seemed to be the blond hair.
There was a moment of silence before they connected the dots.
"Y- you're o- of th- th- the Fog aren't you?!" The brown haired one said as he jumped back a bit.
When he jumped back he stepped onto a part of loose soil that soon gave way. He fell a bit, before he could feel someone holding onto his hand, keeping him from tumbling down the hill. It was Nitze who responded before anyone else.
"I'm not a Fog, I'm a Phantom" Nitze whined a bit, as she was the only thing keeping the boy from tumbling down the hill. Though now she pulled him back up onto more solid ground. "Though you don't have to worry. I'm not gonna hurt you guys. My boss just needs your help with something"
The others were just silent as they watched Nitze save their friend from tumbling down. It was a few silent seconds till Jacob asked.
"Wh- What do you need us for?"
"Oh you'll find out, soon" Nitze said as she willed hexagonal panels to appear. They went off in the direction of a bigger opening where her helicopter was already waiting.
"Um, I don't like how she's acting guys. We should just go back to the path. I'm sure everyone is worried about us" the shortest one said, as he backed away from the hexagonal path.
"Yeah, Sorry Nitze, but I think our families will get worried if we are gone to long, sooooo" The brown haired one said as he tried walking back to, but suddenly stopped as he felt Nitze' grip tighten, and it felt like he was pulling on an immovable object.
"Oh! Ummmm" Nitze started, as hexagonal panels appeared all around them so that they were trapped in with her. "I didn't say you had a choice you know? So then! Let's go!"
Now she pulled on the boy and started to walk on the panels' path to where her helicopter was, dragging the boy she was holding with her. She also made the hexagonal cage move along with her so that the others were pushed along with her.
The others tried to resist the hexagonal panels pushing them, but failed as they were extremely strong. The brown haired one also tried to remove Nitze' hand from his, though this failed as Nitze had superhuman strength.
"Co- come on, Ni- Nitze. We can talk about this, I'm sure" the brown haired one said in a frightened voice. "We all ne- need to go now. I'm sur- sure your boss can understand"
"Nope, no can do" Nitze responded. "My boss wants candidates for a little project and you three will do perfectly. Though I think we should get there a bit faster sooo" now she let go of the brown haired one's hand, which resulted in him falling to the ground as he didn't expect her to do that, but now she formed hexagonal panels all around the three of them so that they were in cages.
The three tried to find a way to escape, but it was hopeless, to try and resist Nitze at the moment.
"Hold on tight guys" Nitze said in a playful voice before she ran off down the path, again at superhuman speeds.
The three were surprised by the speed as they were pushed against the walls from the acceleration. There was now a mixture of screaming and whining from the three was it was truly terrifying for them to be taken away.

Now Nitze was back on her ship with the eleven candidates she had gotten from the mainland. All of them there now gathered in her helicopter storage area. They had mixed emotions on what was happening, some were angry, some were fearful, others were just confused.
Though now Nitze entered into the storage area and seemed to be quite proud of herself, and giggled to herself.
"Frunze is gonna be so happy about how many I got. I think this will be enough for now"
Though now she was approached by an older looking man who didn't seem too happy. He yelled at her.
"Hey you, bitch! What is this abou- Ah!" He tried punching her but was met with her Klein field, which didn't break his hand, but it did hurt like hell though. He fell to the ground clenching his hand.
"I wouldn't suggest doing that you know?" Nitze chirped "we'll be back at the fleet soon so get ready!"
Now a soldier, who was from the tank just sat on the floor and looked at her for a moment. "Ready for what?" He asked.
"Hybridization of course" Nitze responded in her normal cheerful voice.
"And what is hybridization?" He asked again.
Now the others were all looking at Nitze, except the man who had tried punching her. Some looked at her in fear, others in anger, and some in disgust.
"Well you'll be implanted with a Union core that'll allow you to control nanomaterials to a degree, and you'll be given a ship that you can control"
"Then what?" Another person asked, this time one of the civilians she had captured.
"Then you'll go on missions we tell you too, probably patrol missions to start off, but we might turn to kill missions later on depending on what happens"
Now the soldier from before stood up and approached Nitze, but stayed calm as he just stared at her.
"And what happens if we refuse to do what you tell us to? I mean from what you said we'll have ships that we could use to fight back"
"Oh! But that's the thing! You won't be able to fight back" Nitze said as she walked into view of the others. "See once the Union core is inside you we can send a simple kill code that will shut the core off. Nanomaterials will have already been put in your blood streams, so once the core is off that nanomaterial will turn into sand. Causing blood clots and internal bleeding. So to answer your question more directly, if you try to fight back you'll die a slow and painful death"
The scary thing for most of them was just the cheerful voice that Nitze spoke in.
"I see. So you'll be forcing us to fight for you, and you'll kill us if we disobey"
"Correct" Nitze responded "though you'll actually be granted a great deal of autonomy if you follow our orders"
The man nodded his head in understanding and went back to where he was sitting.
"So if we act like good little puppies, we'll be 'free'?" one man said in a mocking tone.
"Well if you don't then we'll just kill you. But you'll get used to it, I mean the ones in the Fog have"
"The one's in the Fog? Aren't you Fog?" The soldier from before asked.
"I'm not Fog, I'm a Phantom" Nitze whined. It seemed that being called a Fog was one of the ways to actually upset her.
"What's the difference then?"
"The Fog are vessels dating back to around World War Two and before, Phantoms are Vessels dating to after that time like I'm an Arleigh Burke class destroyer. My boss, Frunze, is a Kirov class Battlecruiser"
"Well you're really all the same to us, since you appear to do the same thing" the soldier now sighed a bit. "Is there anything for us to do till we get there?"
"Not really anything besides talking. Though I need to go and report to Frunze now to tell him how I did" she answered as she started off towards an exit door. Just before she left she said "oh, and don't try to escape. This whole ship is me. I can feel you on it, and I can feel if you get off of it. So anyways bye! See you again soon!"

Now after some time Nitze made it back to the fleet with the eleven candidates. By now the Fleet had mostly come back from their patrols, and were getting what little rest they could. The sun was starting to set, so the markings of the ships could be seen in the growing twilight.
Now Nitze' ship started to pull up next to Sanctuary's, to drop off the males for hybridization. Nitze had already made some Phantom Union cores, so all that was needed was to do was implant them.
ohhhhh, Sanctuary~ Nitze called over comms in a voice like she was singing I have some people that need cores implanted in them~
Nitze was on her stern flight deck along with everyone she captured from the mainland. While everyone hated following her orders, they all knew that if they didn't that she wouldn't hesitate to kill them.
I can see that clearly, Nitze. Bring them aboard, I'll prepare their surgeries. The only other thing I need from you is the Phantom cores Sanctuary responded back.
ok! Nitze responded in her normally cheerful voice "ok, come on up the stairs to Sanctuary's ship!" Nitze cheered as she willed panels to form into a staircase up to part of Sanctuary's ship.
The group begrudgingly did as she said and went up the staircase, followed by Nitze in the rear to make sure none of them tried to jump into the water. Once they got on the deck, they could see panels in the form of arrows pointing in the direction of where most of them would be waiting. They followed it and found themselves in a waiting room, with multiple chairs, and a checker table in one spot to at least entertain them a bit.
"Ok! I'll be going now! Be good to Sanctuary. I'll be back when she's done with all of you to get your ships picked out" Oh! Sanctuary, I'll be leaving the Phantom cores at the stern of your ship, just so you know now Nitze left the group in the hands of Sanctuary, and delivered the phantom cores at the stern of her ship. Then she jumped back to her own ship.
After pulling away from Sanctuary, she parked her ship next to Frunze'. Then she stepped onto Frunze's ship, finding him at the stern of his ship near his twin 130 millimeter turret.
"Hey! Frunze, I'm back!" Nitze cheered happily as she went towards him. "What are you doing?" She asked curiously, as Frunze had several data rings around him, and a panel with a list of different warships on it.
"Welcome back, Nitze, I'm just selecting warships for the candidates you brought back. I'm mainly focusing on making an actual fleet that can operate on its own when it needs to, so I have a Mercy class for one of the humans. I've also noticed how long it takes for the fleet to get nanomaterials, so I have two supply-class selected as well. The rest is a mixture of frigates, destroyers, and cruisers"
"Cool" Nitze responded as she curiously poked one of Frunze's chibis "so how well did the patrol with Diamond go?"
"Most of it was uneventful, until I decided to turn my ships markings off to trick the humans. Three destroyers were sent out, and we destroyed two of them, then Ohio showed up and destroyed Diamond's ship"
"Ohhhh, so that message that told us she was captured was true? How'd they get inside of her ship to control it?"
"Nimitz said there's a possibility that she turned traitor like that Fog submarine in japan. And from what happened it seems it is true. I've already uploaded most of the information of the battle to the Phantom network. Nimitz is having Enty working on getting the Phantom network and the Fog network together, so both Fleets can share information easier. Though I've already told Alabama about it so that she can upload it to the Fog network"
Nitze summoned a data ring and looked at the information of what happened in the battle.
Then she giggled a bit "if only you had me or Sampson, I bet we could have taught them why you don't leave the Phantom Fleet, or the Fleet of Fog"
"One thing so you know it, Nitze, never underestimate humans, especially when they have our technology"
"Yeah, I heard you saying that before, but the humans I got from the mainland didn't try anything beside kind of predictable attacks or defense"
"Well that was on their own technology, they're less dangerous without our technology. But if you ever come in contact with Ohio or I-401 be careful how you act"
Nitze stopped poking the chibi and gave a little salute "roger that, Frunze"
