Shy guy
Noel asked for a oneshot of Rosie (aged 18) going on a date with a quiet, shy, scared kind of guy. Her family later finds out Rosie did something to save him from George. They aren't too sure about him until he does something very romantic for her.
"I don't like him." Charming said huffily. Emma and Snow gave near identical eyerolls.
"What exactly is your problem with Noah?" Emma sighed. "He's nice, he's sweet."
"Too sweet." Charming pointed out. "Every time he comes to the door to get Rosie he's shaking like a leaf. I don't want Rosie being with someone who can't so much as defend themselves."
"Who says Noah can't defend himself?" Emma asked. "Just because he's a little shy doesn't make him a wimp. Besides, Rosie can whoop enough ass for both of them. Anyway, can you blame the kid for being a little on the nervous side? From what you've both told me, he has every right to be a little nervous sometimes." The family had recently discovered that Rosie's new boyfriend was actually the son of one of King George's knights. George didn't like how sensitive the boy was, so tried to have the sensitivity beaten out of him in endless boxing matches. Rosie found out and came along to one disguised. She used her magic to pound all the knights there. George fled just before he got a taste of what she could do. Rosie then got Noah set up with free bed and breakfast from Granny's as well as a job there. The two had been inseparable ever since.
Emma looked over at her mom.
"You seem to be awful quiet." She said. She expected her mom to stick up for Noah. To Emma's surprise, Snow grimaced.
"I'm not so sure either." She admitted. "It's not because he's shy." Snow added as Emma sighed. "I just…don't know." Emma couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"Come on mom. I thought you would give the kid a chance." Emma said, disappointed in her. She expected her dad not to be a fan. He was never going to be a fan of anyone Rosie brought home. Emma just hoped, at some point soon, the kid would pull out all the stops and show her parents he was worthy of her baby sister.
That is exactly what Noah did a couple of weeks later. Rosie came home and gushed all about it. He had been saving up basically all his wages from Granny's to buy enough rose petals to create a path from their house to the park. There he'd set up little table and had prepared a candlelit dinner for just the two of them to thank Rosie for all her help and to prove how much he loved her. After Rosie finished explaining the whole thing to them, Emma gave both her parents a pointed look. She knew Noah would come good.
