David drove over the Main Street to pick up Henry who was currently helping the caterer choose a couple of dishes to make from Regina's list. Regina was extremely specific when it came to food, since most the foods lately made her feel sick.
And not to mention her persistence on eating healthily. She wanted this wedding to be beyond perfect, god knows how would she react if she found out that Emma actually run away. The minute Henry received David's text about what happened his heart skipped a beat. Both Emma and Regina seemed excited about this wedding the past few weeks while organising the ceremony so he wasn't able to understand why would emma hesitate now.
He heard David honking the horn as soon as he parked the car gracefully outside of the restaurant, and Henry run towards the car holding his backpack.
David opened the door for him and moved his hands in shock telling him to hurry up. The younger boy jumped inside the car as David started the engine and drove away heading towards the town Center.
Henry panted looking outside of the window when he was finally able to catch his breath.
"What the hell happened? Why did she leave?"
He demanded to know.
"She had a conversation with Snow, and she told
Her how weird and empty she feels. It's not about Regina, she's just finding it hard to accept who she really is."
David admitted in disappointment and pulled away at the right side of the Main Street looking at Henry.
"Did she say anything to you?"
"No! She has been acting normal all week! She was very excited to organise her wedding with Regina and to be honest she seemed more than ready to make this big step."
"Then why is she hesitating now? I mean.. don't get me wrong, but reconsidering her life choices five hours before the wedding can't be that coincidental."
Henry frowned rubbing his chin. For once in their lives something very beautiful and magical was about to happen, and here they were facing one more problem for once again. It was like they were cursed. They just couldn't have a calm and peaceful moment for once.
"What do you mean?"
"It just seems suspicious to me... maybe she changed her mind."
David hesitated to say but at the same time a part of him was praying that he was wrong.
"I doubt that grandpa. She adores my mum! She would never throw her current life in the garbage... I know how much Regina means to her!"
He smiled warmly and cracked his knuckles nervously.
Minute after minute he was getting more and more nervous and anxious about this entire situation. What if Emma had run away for good? What if she wasn't planning to come back? What if she had decided to leave them all behind and start a new life? What if something happened to her? His brain couldn't stop making up weird and terrifying scenarios about how much worse that day could get. He bit his lips trying not to panic since it looked like he was the only one rational enough here to think clearly.
"Does she know?"
He asked David.
"Who?"
"Regina. Does she know about mum?"
"No no! Snow, Ruby and Zelena are keeping her occupied. We can't tell her yet..."
He punched the wheel and sighted breathing out heavily.
"Yet... There's a chance that we might have to tell her at some point."
Henry lowered his sight staring at his shoes, and played with his fingers uncomfortably.
"Emma wouldn't just run away forever. I mean, I'm pretty sure she's just freaking out and that she just felt the need to be alone for a while."
David tried to convince himself as well. He didn't want to believe that his daughter would let her past ruin her future. He felt bad... he felt extremely bad for being one of the reasons why that woman had to deal with her abandoning issues right now. He was one of the main reasons why she felt so insecure most of the time.
She had used to be raising herself alone... and suddenly Both David and Snow were there to guide her and that could be confusing for a person like Emma.
"We are going to find her! She can't have gone that far! Do you know where she usually goes when she wants to be alone?"
He asked nervously and examined Henry's face which immediately contorted in confusion and a huge question mark.
Henry narrowed his eyes thinking.
"What about the playground?"
"What playground?"
"Not the usual one. There's an old and abandoned play ground in the forest that she used to take me there to play... it was our castle back then when I was little, and as I grew up we kept visiting that place when we wanted to talk or when I was sad. It always made me feel better."
He smiled at the thought of those years... things back then might were more complicated, but it get good to be little.
It felt good to be care free, and just play with his toys or read his favourite comics to feel better. His mothers would take care of every single obstacle for him, and he would just sit back and feel protected. It was nice and relaxing to be young...
"You actually think she would go there?"
"Definitely. She always loved that place. We both always felt like it had something magical there..."
He smiled warmly and David immediately started the engine again smiling confidently after patting Henry on his shoulder.
"We got this kid."
He winked and started driving.
"Do you need the gps?"
"Nah, you're gonna guide me."
"Can I drive?"
Henry smiled sneakily and David turned around looking at him clearly puzzled.
"What are you up to kiddo?"
"Mums would never let me drive but I know you would. After all you let me drive a truck when I was 13... at least now I'm an adult."
He winked sneakily.
"You're 17."
David added trying to look serious and smart.
"Please..."
"Fine! But we have no time for a car crush! We need to get there now!"
"Okay! Hey I'm not a beginner!"
They switched positions quickly and before David got the time to advice Henry how to start the car and drive away, the younger boy pulled the accelerator quickly and drove away fast as a lightning.
"HENRY! Slow down!"
He yelped caught by surprise.
"You said you wanted to get there on time."
He pressed his food his leg against the accelerator harder to increase the speed, and five minutes later they finally reached the place Henry was talking about. He pulled the handbrake avidly and smiled bright.
"Holly Molly..."
David breathed out in shock.
"You could have gotten us killed!"
"But I didn't!"
"You're so just like your mother! Get out."
He scolded him and walked towards the abandoned playground that was located next to the beach.
"She's over there... on the swing."
David pointed towards the blond woman as he whispered at henry. The younger boy shook his head and walked towards his mother slowly in order not to scare her off. Emma wiped her nose with a tissue and at the sound of footsteps she raised her sight and looked at henry and David in surprise.
"Henry? Dad? What are you doing here?"
Henry just gave her a smile and sat down next to her on the other swing silent. He thought that it would be better for David to start this conversation. The former prince put his hands inside his pockets awkwardly and approached his daughter.
"The question is what are you doing here?"
He tried to sound soft and less alarmed.
"I... I guess I needed some time alone."
She spluttered and swallowed hard avoiding any eye contact with both of them. She bowed down her head in defeat.
"Cold feet? Or just demons from the past getting to you?"
He asked and cleared his throat. He kneeled down placing his hands on her knees rubbing them soothingly with his thumbs.
"I just... I don't feel like I deserve Regina. She's way too good for me... and I'm just.. lost. I'm just afraid that I won't be able to give her the life she always wanted."
She pouted.
David smiled softly and put his fingers below her chin raising her head in order to look at him.
"Do you think that Regina knows what she's doing? Do you think that all of us are fully aware of who we are and which is our purpose in this life? Well let me inform you that sometimes accepting who you really are is a rough path to take Emma.. there are some days that I feel like a disappointment as well. I have disappointed you multiple times and snow as well... but I know that you guys are making me stronger! When I'm not feeling my best Snow is there to cheer me up and I don't have to say a word. She just knows... she feels it. There are some days that I feel lost as well... I kinda reconsider many mistakes that I've made in the past and regret my acts, but you know what? In the end of the day, I wouldn't change a single thing. Because I wouldn't have this beautiful family right now. Everything happens for a reason... and I know that if I don't have you guys by my side I don't want this life! Believe it or not, I'm proud of you. I'm proud of your courage, strength and golden heart. And I will always be proud of you no matter what you do! Cause I'm your father... and you will be always my little girl no matter what."
He gave her a broad smile and moved his hands towards Emma's.
Emma just smiled through her tears and sniffed.
"You really mean that?"
"Yes! Of course I do! Feeling like a failure is human. But what really matters is the people we have around us. Does Regina make you happy?"
He asked and intertwined his fingers with her own.
"Yes! She's the best thing that ever happened to me. The greatest gift of all."
She grinned.
"Then why running away from something so beautiful? Before you say that you can't give her what she wants, let me stop you there first! Have you seen the way she looks at you? Have you seen the way she grins when someone mentions your name? Have you seen that passionate look in her eyes? Well, to be honest it's the very first time I see her that happy! And all of that because of you."
Henry winked at his mother smiling softly.
"Grandpa is right. I can see that as well... and you guys are perfect for each other. Because the end game... is swan queen."
Henry chuckled and stood up from The swing approaching his mother as well.
"Swan queen? Did you come up with that?"
She laughed through her tears and wiped her nose again.
"Well, let's just say that as an author of this book I have to be creative sometimes."
He chuckled.
David squeezed Emma's hands confidently and looked inside her eyes.
"Are you ready to get married to the woman of your dreams?"
"Yes! I'm more than ready!"
She smiled broadly fixing her wedding dress as she stood up and grabbed Henry and David pulling them closer for a tight hug.
"I love you both so much."
"We love you too mum! Now let's go before your future wife finds out and has a heart attack."
Emma nodded her head and followed them in the car.
~~~Mayoral house~~~
Snow's phone started ringing as she was in the kitchen whispering to Ruby nervously. By now she was pretty sure that Emma had disappeared. She couldn't even stand the very thought of that case scenario... how was she supposed to tell Regina? She couldn't even imagine Regina's reaction. She would be devastated.
"I'm telling you, she's gonna kill us all! She already lost two people that she loved! Losing emma is going to be the topping of the cake! Just imagine the madness that's gonna follow."
She soughed and rubbed her hands together panicking.
"Your phone is ringing! Just take a deep breath alright, we'll deal with this just as like we dealt with everything else in the past."
She gave her a confronting smile. Snow just poured and grabbed her cellphone.
"Hey! Any news?"
Her voice trembled.
"We got her. And yes she's fine we talked about her insecurities.!"
Henry chirped from the other line of the phone.
"Oh! Thank! God!"
Snow sighted in relief and smiled broadly.
"Relax. We are heading over the church, are you guys ready?"
"Regina is almost ready. We'll be there in thirty minutes! And... how's Emma?"
"More than ready to do this!"
Henry replied in confidence.
"Great I'll see you there!"
Snow smiled and hung up the phone.
"So is everything okay??"
Ruby rushed by her side and held snow's hands in excitement.
"Yes! Fortunately everything turned out fine!"
"Oh that's great!"
She smiled relieved patting Snow's shoulder when the kitchen door opened up widely.
"What's going on?"
Regina walked inside wearing a white long mermaid strapless wedding dress that hugged her body curves and breasts perfectly. Her hair were formed into a low bun, and her makeup simple and natural. She looked breathtaking. Looking like a princess.
The veil on her head landed on the ground as she walked lightly towards the two women with a frozen smile on her face. Both snow and ruby covered their faces in shock and snow couldn't help it but break down in overwhelming tears.
"You look... stunning! Just like you came out of a fairytale."
"Maybe I did."
Regina winked and approached snow extending her hands for a hug. Snow narrowed her eyes in surprise but didn't miss the chance to pull Regina closer for a tight embrace. She rarely had such sweet moments with her step mother and she didn't wanna lose her chance.
"Thank you Snow. For everything."
She whispered inside Snow's ear since her ego was way too big to allow to admit that out loud in front of everyone. The princess smiled overwhelmed and placed a loving peck on Regina's cheek before she slipped her hand over the brunette's extending stomach. She felt a light kick against her palm and chuckled.
"Are you ready for this?"
Snow asked smiling broadly and filled up with excitement.
Regina nodded her head in confidence.
"Wait!"
"What? What is it?"
"I need a favour..."
She looked down feeling embarrassed. Her cheeks turned into a reddish colour as Snow held Regina's chin softly encouraging her to speak.
"I was wondering... if you... if you could walk me down the aisle! Without making it that big of a deal."
She sighted and crossed her hands under her chest trying to retain her strong attitude and persona.
"Oh my goodness Regina! That is a big of a deal and yes!?! It would be my honour to walk you down the aisle!"
She chirped and held Regina's hand encouragingly.
"Ladies you can celebrate about this later on but we need to go. We can't be any more late."
They all rushed inside the car and ten minutes after they had reached the church.
Emma was waiting Regina inside the church surrounded by family members, former storybrooke members and friends, plus coworkers and their lovely new boss. Barbara rushed towards the limo to open the door carefully trying not to step on her bridesmaid dress. She opened the door and extended her hand for Regina to hold and get out of the car.
"Holly shit woman! You're breathtaking!"
She said amazed as the brunette woman got out of the car smiling broadly and looking around the big church across them. There was a red rug covering the stairs that continued covering the floor inside as well. Roses and jasmines were covering the floor as well decorated specifically around the candles at the corners of each stair.
"You did a good job here."
She winked at Barbara and hugged her.
"Anything for ya girl. Now you ready to commit to the same pussy forever?"
She laughed and held Regina's hands helping her walk upstairs.
"I feel that I am."
"Poor you! I could never."
She joked again and when they finally reached the top of the staircase she handed Regina the bouquet of roses she was holding.
"I'm kidding... to be honest you're the lucky one! I love you, you know that."
"I love you too."
She kissed Barbara's cheek and snow run by her side to hold her hand. They both took a heavy breath as the music started playing...
It was time. They slowly walked inside the church. Emma froze in place looking at Regina amazed. God... she was the luckiest girl in the world she thought. How could she be so lucky anyway? She fixed her veil as well as David stood by her side smiling wide at snow and Regina.
Who could have imagined? The woman that hunted them down for so many years, now getting married to his daughter and changing her life entirely. Henry tried to hide his broad smile, remaining serious as her held the box of the rings tight in his hands. He was beyond happy to watch his mums finally getting their happy ending.
Snow finally reached the top of the church and led Regina to stand across emma. Both women looked at each other and grinned. The priest grabbed his book and cleared his throat.
"Thank you all for coming today. Today is a special day for these women over here. So we are here to celebrate their love and unite them into one in the name of the god! Please sit down."
He smiled big.
Snow sat down next to David leaning her head on his shoulder overwhelmed. They hold hands.
"Whoever is against this wedding may speak now or hush forever."
The priest continued and no response followed. His shook his head as he looked at both women and continued the ceremony.
"Regina Mills and Emma Swan have you come here to enter into marriage without coercion, freely and wholeheartedly?"
"Yes!"
Both women replied in unison as they held hands looking inside each other's eyes.
"Are you prepared, as you follow the path of marriage to love and honour each other for as long as you both shall live?"
He asked again and both women replied in unison again. He was about to speak when a phone started ringing in the room. People turned around staring at Nathan, the leader of the FBI group Regina worked for that grabbed his cellphone and embarrassment and declined the call, looking at everyone else with a very uncomfortable smile on his face.
"I'm sorry..."
He whispered.
"Are you prepare to accept children lovingly from
God and bring them up according to the law of Christ and his church?"
"Yes we are."
The both said again and smiled even broader. Emma stared at Regina's stomach overwhelmed and grinned.
"Since it is your intention to enter into the covenant of Holy Matrimony, join your right hands, and declare your consent before God and his Church."
The priest continued and then the same ringtone echoed in the church again. Nathan declined the call again turning red in embarrassment.
Emma cleared her throat ignoring Nathan and looked inside Regina's eyes lovingly.
"I, Emma swan, take you Regina mills to be my wife. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life."
Regina bit her lips and was about to speak when Nathan's phone started ringing again like crazy.
"JESUS JUST ANSWER THE CALL!"
She snapped looking at him obviously annoyed. The grey haired man grabbed his cellphone alarmed and run outside of the church to answer.
"You scared the shit out of him!"
Emma laughed.
"Still got it."
The brunette winked and held Emma's hands again.
"I Regina mills, take you emma swan to be my wife. I promise to be faithful to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love you and to honor you all the days of my life."
The priest grinned.
"Very well, Emma do you take Regina to be your wife? Do you promise to be faithful to her in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love her and to honor her all the days of your life?"
"Yes I do."
Emma replied sincerely and bowed down her head.
"Regina , do you take Emma to be your wife? Do you promise to be faithful to him in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love him and to honor him all the days of your life?"
"I do."
Regina bit her lips in excitement squeezing Emma's hands.
"I, Emma Swan take you, Regina Mills, for my lawful wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward,
for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part."
She admitted and blushed looking at Regina radiating with happiness. She was beyond thankful for this moment. She had everything she wanted.
"I, Regina Mills take you, Emma Swan for my lawful wife, to have and to hold, from this day
forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part."
The former queen chirped and rubbed Emma's hands with her thumb tearing up overjoyed.
The priest nodded and continued reading his book.
"The rings please."
The priest said and Henry rushed towards them and handed Emma and Regina one ring each.
"Emma Swan do you take Regina Mills for your lawful wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"
"Of course I do!"
" Regina Mills do you take Emma Swan for your lawful wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?"
"100% yes!"
"I know pronounce you wife and wife."
He smiled as the two women exchanged their vows and rings.
"If you don't kiss her I will swan!"
Barbara screamed from the other corner of the room and laughed loudly. Emma grinned broadly as she pulled Regina closer carefully placing a passionate kiss on her juicy lips. The audience started clapping their hands and cheering.
"Congratulations you two love birds."
Henry smiled broadly as he pulled them closer for a tight hug and kissed them both.
Snow run towards them hugging and smooching them both.
"I'm so proud of youuuuu! Can't believe I'm gonna become a grandma! Again!!!"
Regina furrowed making a funny grimace.
"Holly shit I hadn't thought about that part!"
"Oh yeah believe it or not you're stuck with us for a lifetime madam mayor."
"We're just like foot fungus! We never leave you!"
David broke down in loud laughter hugging them
Both when Nathan run inside the room holding a notebook and a pencil.
"Girls! I'm so so sorry... to interrupt you but we have a situation!"
