A/N: But another update so soon? It's because I'm so cool haha. Do enjoy though.

8.

"Pick up, pick up, pick up," Bonnie chanted obsessively into her phone. She'd pacing Klaus' study for half an hour trying to reach Caroline's cell. He'd given her some privacy because she needed to make an urgent call.

After what seemed like an eternity, Caroline finally picked up her phone.

"Bonnie?" She said sleepily. "It's like 1am. What's the matter?"

"Caroline! Do you have any idea where Elena is?" Bonnie asked, failing at keeping the alarm from her voice.

"In the room across from me with Damon last time I checked," the blonde replied, still tired and confused about the nature of the late-night call. "Do you want to talk to her? Because I -,"

"No!" She disagreed. "I just needed to know that she's ok." Relief flooded through her. Elena was ok. At least for now. The two girls were roommates in a shared apartment off-campus so that meant Caroline would definitely know where she was.

"Ok now I'm confused. What's the matter Bonnie? Do you want to make up with Elena? Is that it?"

Bonnie sighed unsure of what to even say. She sat at the edge of the large mahogany desk rubbing her forehead. "Just keep an eye on her for me please Care? Watch her back."

"Is there something wrong?" Caroline questioned, concern now colouring her tone.

This was so difficult to explain. She made a vow to herself that she wouldn't involve Caroline or any of her human friends in vampire business. Elena was entangled with Stefan and Damon already but that was the extent of it. They'd already survived tomb vampires and the crazy Augustine society. Bonnie didn't want to be the one to make it a trifecta.

But now there was a threat towards her and by extension Caroline too. Keeping people in the dark never really helped in the long run but the truth was a complicated beast to handle for those not so understanding of this world. For the first time she could understand why Grams kept it all away from her.

"I might be making a short trip to see you guys in a little while," She said instead biting her bottom lip.

"That's great!" The blonde said excitedly. "I can't wait to see you."

"Me too," Bonnie said quietly. "I'm really sorry for waking you up. I just wanted to make sure you guys were ok."

"I will be. If someone doesn't ruin my beauty sleep," Caroline grumbled playfully. "I'm sure Elena will be glad to see you even if she doesn't show it. She misses you but hides it well." Bonnie wished she could say that didn't affect her but it did. Despite all, Elena was still her dear friend from childhood. It was a shame that circumstance drove them apart.

Bonnie smiled despite herself, "I'm sorry for waking you up. Just keep staying safe together ok?"

"I hope you're staying safe too," Caroline said lowly. "None of that witchy stuff is overwhelming you or getting too dangerous or complicated right?" Oh, if only she knew.

"I'm handling it," She simply answered. "Sleep tight Care."

"Sleep tight Bon." The line went off. Bonnie sighed standing up to go to the green leather couch on the other side of the room where she sat, holding her head with both hands. Demi was currently sleeping in her room. Sadly, horse-riding had been put off for today. The girl was in such hysterics it took a moment for her to relay the contents of the vision she had. Something to do with a doppelgänger and her blood. Two girls, most likely witches, were looking for Elena. They planned to use her blood for some ritual. It was the image of Bonnie's friend bleeding and in tears that shook Demi up so much.

It was what she said last that changed everything, "The girls are from here so their magic isn't working well but they're still looking for her." That meant the culprits were witches from New Orleans. But what exactly would they want with Elena's blood?

Bonnie wasted no time checking to ensure Elena was ok.

Whatever was happening hadn't occurred yet but would soon enough. There was no time to waste.

The door creaked open causing her to look up. It was her mate. These days nothing made her feel better like hearing his voice or seeing his face. "Are you finished with your call? Is she alright?"

Bonnie smiled weakly, "I spoke with my friend Caroline. She's safe at least for now. Her boyfriend is with her and I think he can take them."

Klaus had no such faith in either of the Salvatores. He did yank Katherine quite easily from them although they had the excuse of being new-borns at the time. Still, he wouldn't put the life of anyone he mildly tolerated in their hands to protect. He sat beside Bonnie and she placed her head on his shoulder, wrapping both arms around his bicep. "Why would witches want her?"

"Doppelgänger blood is unfortunately a rare find. The doppelgängers themselves are nothing special but their blood has certain properties which can complete or even empower any spell or ritual," He explained.

"Oh," She scrunched up her nose, "So kind of like a supernatural version of Lowry's?"

Klaus chuckled at the comparison, "Fine, let's go with that. It spices up most spells and rituals. The rarity, being that they occur every hundred years, adds to the power. It makes them coveted."

Bonnie wasn't sure how she felt knowing that the supernatural world saw her best friend's blood as all-purpose seasoning. When Stefan first came into town, the impression they had of doppelgängers was that they were just people who happened to look alike. The boys were in love with Katherine, the previous one. According to Cordelia she cheated Klaus out of his transformation the first time and she punished her for it. How she wondered if it were just truly a matter of time before something came for Elena. Demi's vision confirmed that it had begun.

"This makes them pretty hunted right?" Bonnie asked, closing her eyes.

"Mostly. Not everyone knows about them but those who do and know the capabilities of their blood seek them out," He leaned back into the couch taking her with him. Bonnie placed her head on his chest inhaling his cologne and enjoying the warmth of his embrace, cuddling closer.

"That's what you used to become a hybrid right? And how you make hybrids now. You used Daisy Flemming's blood." She played the zipper of his jacket.

"Yes," Klaus answered without hesitation. "And for that I granted her protection and wealth until her death. It was a mutually beneficial agreement. Miss. Flemming was smart enough to take it."

"Were you planning on offering the same to Elena? I'm sure you knew all about her if you were keeping tabs on her descendants," Bonnie questioned quietly.

He regarded her carefully to see how she would react. "Eventually. When the need arose." Currently he had not met any wolves he found worthy enough to make hybrids. The last of Daisy's blood was used up in 1963 years after her death. The self-refilling enchantment cast on all the vials wore off and even if it didn't, blood was always better fresh. He might have waited for another decade more; allow her to have children and secure the next line.

"We used to be so close you know?" She said absently. "Then after the Salvatores came everything fell apart. Grams died and I guess I sort of blamed her for it. Cordelia came along and Elena saw it as a big betrayal."

"Then she has little to no common sense," Klaus declared.

Bonnie huffed, "It's because we always promised it would be the three of us together throughout college and for the rest of our lives. Me, Caroline and her. I didn't even hesitate when Cordelia came. Once I was sure she wasn't lying about her connection to my line, I jumped at the chance to take everything she was offering. I needed it you know? But that meant breaking our pact."

"I would say it sounds like she was jealous. You were given the opportunity to grow and flourish away from your small town and she was upset the same wasn't presented to her," Klaus deciphered.

Bonnie shrugged, "I honestly don't know." A small part of her wanted to agree with him. But ultimately, she still felt unaware of why Elena reacted so harshly. It still hurt deep within her. But no matter what happened she couldn't let anything happen to her.

Klaus had hidden the unhappiness he felt knowing that Bonnie was friends with a doppelgänger. Useful as their blood was, the actual women were nothing but danger and drama magnets. Wherever they went death followed like a non-wailing banshee leaving those in their path as collateral damage. Their romantic inclinations were always chaotic.

He was grateful to Cordelia for taking Bonnie away before any real damage was done.

Now whatever the witches in the city were planning involved her and would bring her back into Bonnie's life. Klaus was not looking forward to it at all.

"Does it bother you?" He found himself asking.

"What?" Bonnie was confused.

"Does it bother you that I will have to use the blood of your friend to make my hybrids?" Klaus was not sorry for, far from it in fact, but he didn't want his mate upset either. Whether he liked it or not, the doppelgänger Elena Gilbert was her friend. People like Bonnie held unto those bonds no matter how frayed they became. He admired that about her. The downside was that she might extend it to those unworthy of such.

Bonnie contemplated the question. She removed her head from his chest, folding her legs onto the cushions and looked him in the eye, "I won't lie, it does somewhat. I'm sure Demi's vision is definitely not helping either. But I also understand that it's something you need to do. You have a pragmatic reason to keep her safe." She hesitated glancing at the window. "I'm not stupid. I know there will come times you will do things that my moral code abhors. It's who you are and I doubt that I can change that. All I can say is that I'll try to understand the reasoning and I hope you'll be patient with me if I don't as easily as you'd like."

Klaus didn't earn his reputation by just killing a few people here and there. He did things – bad things. The Original hybrid was as notorious as death itself. To some, they meant the same thing.

For now, it felt easy to be understanding because she had not witnessed any of it. But she knew a time would come when his deeds would stare her right in the face. Right now, to Bonnie he was the sweetest man ever. His words, his lips, his touch all drove her wild. She was privileged to experience a side of him many would never.

Could she let them go for his sake? That was a question best left till when it came time to cross that bridge. Besides, if nature brought them together, it was because he was someone she could handle.

"I understand you perfectly darling," He placed a hand over hers. Truth be told, he did worry that something he did would eventually drive her away. His witch was accommodating for the moment but reality had a way of removing the wool from one's eyes. He had enemies that rivalled the sands on a beach. One would pop up and he'd have to deal with them in a manner which would surely scandalize his Bonnie. What would happen then?

For now, he wanted to be content with what they had hoping that she would truly come to understand why Klaus was the way he was. If, eventually in the future it became a problem, then he'd just have to convince her one way or another. He had no plans of letting her go.

Klaus took her chin under his forefinger, "I promise that because of you, I will ensure nothing happens to her."

Bonnie smiled genially, "Thank you." She knew he already had a vested interest in keeping Elena alive. Taking her desires into account was a sweet gesture. She leaned forward to peck his lips. Klaus deepened the kiss in turn, pulling her closer until she straddled his lap. Bonnie wrapped her arms around his neck moaning as he held her waist. Her nipples hardened under the borrowed shirt, poking his chest.

"We have intruders incoming," Klaus muttered to her lips.

She wanted to groan. Untangling herself from him was the last thing she wanted. The study door opened and Bonnie tried to get off his lap only to be held in place by the hybrid's iron grip. Marcel, Cordelia and Elijah entered. Bonnie's cheeks burned in embarrassment at them seeing her like this. Her mate on the other hand, had no shame and kept his expression neutral.

Cordelia raised an eyebrow then winked at Bonnie. She seemed to be coming around.

Marcel plopped himself in one of the chairs, "Is this how it's going to be all the time? The two of you being all lovey-dovey everywhere?" His tone was teasing.

"I'm not sure. Are you going to keep pining for Rebekah or will you eventually tell her you fancy her within the next two centuries?" Klaus said with a straight face.

Marcel sputtered, "H-how?! That is not even true – how dare you! I have no feelings for anyone!"

Bonnie giggled into Klaus' neck at the vampire kings' reaction. That was an interesting tidbit. He kissed behind her ear making her wiggle pleasurably over his crotch. The hold on her waist tightened.

"Niklaus, stop mauling my great grandniece. We have important things to discuss," Cordelia chastised dropping her Kate Spade purse on the desk. Elijah took his seat and she chose to stand.

"Yes, yes," Klaus grumbled reluctantly, pulling away from Bonnie's neck.

"I've received word from Josephine. The council meeting refuses to convene if Klaus insists on coming," Cordelia said.

"That's no surprise," Marcel shrugged. Witches considered their space sacred. Bringing any other being into the mix was a form of treason. Cordelia got away with her request because of her status as supreme.

"Then we can continue with my original idea to nicely ask the French Quarter elders if they were planning a human sacrifice six years ago. If they don't answer, then rip out their throats," Klaus said casually.

"Yes, brother, attack the witch coven. That will surely make them cooperate and won't further alienate the witches in the city," Elijah said disapprovingly. Klaus shot him a look but said nothing. Bonnie shifted on his lap.

"No one is attacking anyone," Cordelia's sharp look was a warning to all the vampires in the room. "We still don't have any proof they're the one behind it. At least no proof we can use publicly."

Marcel shuffled uncomfortably in his chair. The information about the ritual was given to him by an old hook-up from the FQ coven. He didn't want to put her in harm's way with the other witches once they discovered she was sleeping with a vampire. She ended it shortly after the incident and he never really asked why.

"How are you sure whatever they want to use her blood for is related to Demi?" Bonnie questioned.

"The coincidence is far too great. The only other important ritual was the Harvest and that already occurred. Anyone seeking doppelgänger blood would need it for a large ritual not just any spell," She explained folding her arms. "Then add two witches to the mix actively looking for one. All signs lead to that."

"So that means they know Demi is alive," Marcel said agitated. "How?" He'd been so careful keeping her existence a secret. Only a few of the vampires under him knew of her existence. She never left the compound apart from horse-riding in his stables outside town and to a discreet doctor when the occasion rose.

"A mole perhaps?" Elijah wondered.

"No. My guys are loyal," Marcel vehemently denied.

"How exactly were you so certain no one knew she was alive?" Klaus tapped the armrest.

"I killed all the witches during the ritual. None were left alive. According to the witch who told me the ritual was a secret itself from even the other coven members," Marcel assured. Sophie only knew because her sister heard about it. He hadn't seen the witch during the actual ritual though. Just the siphons.

"That you know of," Elijah added.

That was plausible. Marcel sighed rubbing his forehead, "Then who else was left out?"

"We have a theory that the elders were involved," Cordelia informed, referring to herself and Klaus. "I think they might have been biding their time, waiting for the perfect moment to strike." It was the only thing that made sense. Marcel tensed up at the implication that they were planning to take Demi away.

"Well they've waited in vain because we won't let anything happen to her," Bonnie said determinedly much to the surprise of everyone in the room. Klaus' wolf rumbled in delight at their mate's fierceness. Marcel felt reassured that his sire's mate seemed firmly on their side. He sent her a smile which she reciprocated.

"How exactly would they be able to find the doppelgänger?" Klaus darted his eyes around the room. It wasn't like a yearly memo was sent each time a new one was born.

Cordelia cleared her throat, "I might have an idea. A few hours ago, I felt stirrings. It seems one of my seals has been disrupted. I was actually on my way to inform you before you told me about the vision."

"How? Which one?" Klaus sat up holding Bonnie's thigh so she wouldn't fall off his lap.

Cordelia inhaled deeply, "The one holding Katerina."

Katie was nervous being in the same room with the vampire they dug up. Katherina or Katherine is what Sophie said her name was. Sophie went out of the room to make a phone call leaving Katie to guard her. Katherine didn't really do much anyway. Her eyes were transfixed on the motel TV following the moving pictures. The poor thing didn't even know what a television was.

She'd barely said a few words after they gave her some blood. She was still weak. The magic feeding and sustaining her was a powerful one. Katie wondered who sealed her in the first place. They must have been really powerful.

"Do you want another blood bag?" Katie raised one up.

Katherine nodded, accepting it, "Thank you." Her fangs dropped and she bit into it making Katie wince at the sight.

"What have you released me for?" Katherine wiped the blood off her mouth.

"You'll find out soon enough," Katie replied with a small smile. She didn't exactly know either.

Outside the room, Sophie clenched her jaw in annoyance at Bastianna's beratement.

"What do you mean you have to bring her back to the city?" The elder hissed over the speaker.

"I'm too tapped out to do even a simple locator spell," Sophie answered. "The potion wore off quicker than anticipated. I barely even lasted breaking the seal even with the dark object."

Bastianna huffed in annoyance, "According to my calculations it was enough."

"Well it wasn't," Sophie snapped.

"Watch your tone with me girl. I am your superior," Bastianna warned. Sophie forced herself to bite her tongue instead of letting the woman know how she really felt. At the end of the day it was a necessary evil to endure.

The power from the ritual would aid them in ending all the vampires in the city. It was all Sophie wanted. She'd endure anything to make that happen.

"Yes Ma'am," She answered. "I still need to bring her back."

The elder felt conflicted. She needed the vampire's blood to find the current doppelgänger but bring her to the city would be too large of a risk to take. The hybrid and supreme might find out and that was the last thing she needed.

On the other hand, the ritual needed to be done as soon as possible. She couldn't wait any longer. She had already waited for six long years.

"Fine. Wait a day or two then bring her. Only to the city limits where you can take her blood then release her," Bastianna instructed.

"Yes elder."

"And for goodness sake do not let yourself get caught."

"I'm not an idiot," Sophie said coolly.

"That remains to be seen. This is all your fault isn't it?" The line cut. Sophie squeezed her phone so tight it was a miracle the screen didn't crack. She counted from 1-10 with her eyes closed hoping to quell her anger. A breath escaped her. Just a bit more. She could tolerate this for just a bit more.

Feeling calm, she entered back into the room where Katherine and Katie were. Sophie smiled widely, "Chin up Katherine. In a few days you'll be taking a ride in something known as a car. Doesn't that sound like fun?" Katherine's blank look was all the response she needed.

The room was silent. Marcel's eyes widened and Elijah remained deathly still. Cordelia kept her expression stoic. Klaus though, he looked immensely furious. His nostrils flared and he took his hand off Bonnie's thighs to keep from accidentally hurting her by clutching too tightly and breaking a bone. Katerina. The very bane of his existence.

Bonnie took in all their reactions.

They sealed her away? Why? She knew Klaus really disliked her but what exactly did he do to her?

"And how would they have managed that? Last I remember, the witches of New Orleans have no power outside the confines of the city their ancestors reside," His tone was deathly quiet. It sent chills through Bonnie. She'd never heard him speak this way. Her hand on his chest slowly inched away but he grabbed it, keeping it in place.

Katerina was like a cockroach that never stayed down. Sure, it would have been more prudent to kill her but he wanted her to suffer first before the final blow. Now the result of his vindictiveness meant his enemies had ammunition against them.

"A dark object and a potion to amplify their powers," Cordelia listed placing a hand on the desk and putting her weight on it. "The dark object absorbs the magic not really breaking it but transferring it. The witches still have their powers outside of the city but it is very weak. A potion which can amplify it for a short amount of time is most likely what they used. They wear off quickly though."

"Why would they need to dig her up?" Bonnie asked.

Cordelia pursed her lips, "Her blood can be used to find her doppelgänger since they are of the same lineage." That was why they'd gone through the trouble of unsealing her. It would have taken a lot of energy. Even in her early days Cordelia was not to be trifled with.

"How long do they last?" Marcel asked.

"Typically, a few hours," She replied.

Elijah furrowed his brows, "Then there is a chance they've already exhausted themselves before they can find Miss. Gilbert. That seems like a silver lining."

"They'll need to come back to the city to recuperate their magic," Marcel snapped his fingers.

"In that case we have an advantage," Cordelia pointed out. "We need to go to get to her before they can."

"So, we must go to Mystic Falls then," Klaus spoke up in frustration. His timeline had been sped up thanks to that blasted coven.

"The girl isn't just going to trust some vampires who say they're trying to protect her," Marcel seemed hesitant.

"It seems that's where I'll come in," Bonnie said softly. She wondered exactly how she would spin this to Elena and Caroline. Would she just waltz and say, "Hello Elena, we haven't spoken in a while but I'm going to protect you from some witches bent on human sacrifice,"?

"Is this something you can handle? I know the two of you didn't leave on the best terms," Cordelia asked Bonnie.

She nodded, glancing at Klaus, "If this is something I have to do then I will do it." It was all to keep Demi safe and make sure no one hurt Elena. Going back to Mystic Falls was the last thing she wanted but she would have to do it.

"If only you are certain," Klaus cupped her cheek and looked into her green eyes to ensure she meant it. Bonnie did.

The meeting continued and ended with a plan of action formed. Bonnie, Klaus and Cordelia would go to Mystic Falls to meet Elena. Elijah would use his network to find any whisperings from witches about when the potential ritual would take place. Marcel wanted to be close to Demi in case any move was made to kidnap her. Rebekah would be with him.

"I'll wait for you in your room," Bonnie stood up from the couch giving Klaus one last kiss. Elijah and Marcel left already. Cordelia was left. She wanted to speak with Klaus briefly in private.

"See you later Delia," She bid her mentor goodnight.

"You'll come home at some point?" Cordelia raised an eyebrow playfully.

Bonnie just blushed at the implication, "Ah, at some point."

"Not if I have anything to say about it," Klaus winked from the couch. Both women rolled their eyes then Bonnie left.

Cordelia lit a sage candle telekinetically. "I'm sure you're wondering the same thing as me."

The hybrid sat up now rigid and tensed without Bonnie's warm body next to his, "Who exactly informed them where Katerina was buried?"

The Supreme went to the table where a bottle of fine scotch sat and poured herself a glass, "That information was limited to you and I. Unless either of our memories were extracted without our notice, I'm willing to bet the ancestors were the informants."

"Fucking shit," He swore clasping his hands together. If the witches had their ancestors actively working on their side then that made things more difficult. "We cannot let them get their hands on Demi."

"We could take her out of the city," Cordelia suggested.

"Marcel would not be so amicable to that idea," Especially since his son couldn't exactly leave the city. He knew how close the two were and was loath to separate them. However, it was necessary in this case. When all was well, she could return.

"It's not like we have a choice. If worse comes to it, Demi must leave New Orleans," Cordelia sipped her scotch. "Hopefully once we hide the doppelgänger then it will buy us enough time to stop the ritual. If we're lucky then it won't be another massacre and the covens won't be thrown into war."

"Least of my concern," The hybrid said candidly. He didn't really care what the witches were up to as long as they weren't trying to go against Marcel.

"Servant of nature remember?" She said dryly. "I see you and Bonnie have become quite comfortable."

"More than that I would say," He didn't bother concealing his pleasure. Finding his mate so far proved to be a serendipitous task. In the short while he'd known her, Klaus was utterly enthralled with Bonnie. She seemed the same also.

"Do I need to give a shovel talk? Inform you of what I'll do if you end up hurting her in any manner?" Cordelia asked, pouring another glass.

"I've seen what you do to your enemies. I promise to be a good boy," Klaus mockingly saluted making her scoff. He stood up, "I'd love to stay and keep chatting but there's currently a beautiful woman in my bed waiting for me."

Cordelia made a face of disgust, "That's my grandniece please."

Once Klaus got back to his room, Bonnie was curled up under the blankets with both eyes closed. She was wearing another of his shirts and nothing else. Eventually she would have to go home for a change of clothes but he much preferred her in his. Her uneven breathing informed him that she was still awake but would fall asleep quite soon. He smiled indulgently, taking off his shirt lying behind her and wrapping an arm around her stomach. She shifted in his embrace and turned to face him. "Hi."

"Hello," Klaus responded.

She placed her head on his bare chest, "I wanted to ask you something."

"Ask away," There was no hesitation from him.

Bonnie caressed his abdomen, "What exactly did you do to Katherine?"

There it was. He had an inkling she would ask. It was ironic that hours ago they spoke about the deeds he'd done and her reaction to them. So soon it was being put to the test.

"Katerina was placed in a coffin and buried in Mystic Falls. Right under the statue of one of the Lockwood founders. The magic used was meant to keep her alive for a hundred years while simultaneously feeding from her. Then in another hundred years, kill her," He said keeping his eyes trained on the ceiling not wanting to see her reaction.

"The George Lockwood statue?" Bonnie sat up. "There's been a vampire under there the whole time?" She'd passed there so many times. On graduation day, she and her friends had taken pictures there. To think there had been a vampire the entire time.

"The vampire came before your townspeople decided to build one over it," Klaus admitted leaning against the headboard.

"Why?" She stared incredulously at her mate. "Why did you go through all that trouble for her?"

Klaus felt torn. He didn't want to explain this so soon to her but she needed to understand his reasons. "When Katerina deprived me of breaking my curse, it put myself and my siblings in danger. We were being chased by a hunter." He swallowed down the bile which rose every time he recounted about Mikeal. "That was the main reason I needed to become a hybrid. To create an army and protect us."

Bonnie had no idea there was a vampire hunter who seemed capable of hunting down the Originals. A very dangerous one if he was the reason her mate was scrambling to break his curse for so long.

"After I found her in Mystic Falls and she presented Daisy to me, I had no idea she was setting up a trap. She summoned the hunter to attack us. He didn't get me but he managed to kill my youngest brother, Kol." She gasped. That must have been so painful for him to lose his brother. Bonnie placed a hand on his shoulder and squeezed in comfort.

Klaus closed his eyes feeling peaceful at the scent of lavender from her hair. "Because of her, Kol died. I broke my curse, killed the hunter and Cordelia ended up bringing him back to life."

"How did she manage that?" From what she knew, there was no way to kill an original. There was also no way to revive one either.

"A lot of guesswork," He chuckled to himself remembering. Cordelia was younger and so unsure of herself then. The attempt was done in blind faith but much to their mutual surprise she succeeded. After Kol came back, all the white oak stakes were destroyed. Katherine, for her part in it all, was sealed away beneath the earth. He wanted her awake to hear as the world passed her by and moved on. For her precious brothers to fall in love again and forget her. To know no one would ever come for her. Klaus wanted her to suffer.

"You buried her because of your brother," Bonnie muttered. "I understand why you did it. It was painful and vindictive but I do."

"I would do it again," Klaus said to her hair.

She didn't doubt it. "When my Grams died and the tomb vampires were released, there was a device we found that would destroy all the supernaturals within the vicinity. I tampered with it hoping it would kill the Salvatores."

Klaus said nothing, allowing her to talk.

"In the end I saved them." She whispered. "Sometimes when I remember my grandmother, I wish I let them die. But I couldn't. I couldn't do that to Elena. So I really understand when that all-consuming need to get revenge overwhelms you."

"You are nothing like me Bonnie. Don't compare your deeds to mine," Klaus had the blood of too many on his hands. She was far too good to even be in his league. Too good for him to deserve her. The hybrid knew that he didn't deserve her. But he had her all the same.

"I'm saying that I understand you all the same," Bonnie explained holding him tighter. "So, anything else you end up doing in the future, I think I can understand that too." Bold words to state the but the conviction behind them felt true. "I trust you."

Those words released something within him. He suddenly flipped them so that he hovered over her. "Say it again."

"I trust you," Bonnie said steadier. Her green eyes shone earnestly. Perhaps it was pure naivety but it gave him hope.

Klaus kissed her slowly, drinking in every moan and noise released from her lips. Her soft body writhed beneath him, short nails digging into his clothed back. He grinded into her smelling the traces of her arousal grow until her panties were wet. What a treat it would be to be buried inside that brilliant wet heat. The small mewl she let out from his lips on her neck nearly made his claws pop out.

He kissed the down the length of her until he reached her thigh. His tongue flicked over the bounding femoral pulse. Klaus' fangs itched for release. The pleasure she felt made it smell more potent, sweeter. He looked at her. The denim blues were replaced by brilliant gold. They never failed to heat up everything in Bonnie.

Without words she knew what he was asking. What he needed. She declared that she trusted him. Now he was asking her to prove it.

"Yes," was all she breathed.

So he bit her.

So we're headed to Mystic Falls next. I wonder how to gang will react to Bonnie's new paramour...Good to see Klonnie progressing. All the action is coming soon.

Don't forget to review. They feed my aching soul.
