It was a nice and breezy evening in Pontypandy, Sam was just coming back to the Fire Station with Ellie and Penny after their time at the Café. Sam was driving Venus while Ellie was driving Jupiter with Penny. Elvis was coming down from the fire station kitchen, he smiled as they came out of the vehicles and approached. "Hello, Sam." he said.

"Hello, Elvis." greeted Sam.

Ellie looked at Elvis like he had done something wrong while they were gone. "What have you and Arnold been up to now, Elvis?"

"I don't know."

Penny giggled as Elvis had no idea what he did. Sam later looked at Phoenix which was nice and clean. He looked back at Elvis. "You washed Phoenix while we were gone. Didn't you, Elvis?"

"I did, Sam."

Elvis was thinking about what he did while they were gone. He realized that Station Officer Steele was still in the Station. Arnold later joined the crew to see what was going on. "Did I miss anything?"

"No, Arnold. You didn't miss anything."

"Ok. Well, I just want to tell you all that I will be on holiday tomorrow."

Everyone was surprised with what Arnold told them. They wanted to know where he was going. Sam looked at his team, then back at Arnold. "Where are you going for holiday, Arnold?"

"I will be in Cardiff for a day. Station Officer Steele has told me that I need a long break after you were gone for 3 days."

"That's great, Arnold. Maybe you can see the Cardiff Fire Academy from your Hotel."

"Thanks, Penny. I guess I better go home and start packing."

"By Arnold. Have a good holiday."

"Thank you, Ellie."

Elvis frowned. He felt like he was going to be missing out, but then he realized he had a job to do. "Arnold, You do deserve some time off like Station Officer Steele told you. I have to keep the streets of Pontypandy safe from danger."

"Thanks, Elvis. You're right, I do need a bit of time off after a lot of work."

Arnold soon walked out of the Station heading home to start packing for Cardiff. Elvis watched him leave before returning to the kitchen. "Bye, Arnold. I'll see you later."

Arnold soon made his way back to his home just out by the Cut Price Supermarket. He unlocked the door and found his paper for the Hotel, then walked upstairs to start packing his suitcase. He didn't realize that Cardiff was the big city in Wales. Why do I get the feeling that something is not right? He thought to himself. It was dark out when he finished packing, he went to the bathroom to start getting ready for bed. After he had finished locking up the house, he went upstairs to sleep until the morning.

The next morning, Arnold heard his alarm clock go off which was to the sound of Jupiter's siren he recorded while testing it. He then managed to get out of bed and remake it, then showered, brushed his teeth, and gathered his belongings. It took about 30 minutes for him to get ready as he was on holiday in Cardiff. As he walked out of his house and locked the door, Ellie came by. "Hello, Arnold." she said cheerfully.

Arnold gasped. "Hello, Ellie."

"Big day for you, isn't it?"

"Indeed, I have everything I need as well as my phone in case I need to call you."

"Ok, I can tell you're nervous."

"Really?"

"Yes. You've never been to the big city, haven't you?"

"No, Ellie. I have not."

"Well, it looks like you'll have a great time, Arnold."

"Indeed, it does."

Ellie and Arnold were still talking to each other until they heard Trevor's bus pull up beside them. Trevor was taking Arnold to Cardiff as he did not have a car to drive. Trevor decided to ask Arnold if he could help him. "Do you mind if I help put your suitcase on the bus?"

"No, I don't mind. Go on ahead, Trevor."

"Ok, this bus is going to Cardiff too, you know."

Arnold passed Trevor his suitcase so that he could load it on the bus. He then turned to Ellie. "I have to go, I'll see you tomorrow."

"Awh, I'll miss you too, Arnold."

Ellie leaned into him for a hug, he accepted it and soon it was time for him to leave. Arnold waved to Ellie as he left for Cardiff.

Meanwhile,

Sam and Penny were cleaning out the dust bin that Elvis forgot to clean out. It was stinky, Sam was thinking about the time he had to rescue Mrs. Chen's cat from the drain in the park. "Phew, That one was giving out a big stink. Not the nicest smell, eh?"

"Yes, Sam. Elvis should've thought about doing that while we were gone."

"I know what you mean, Penny."

"Come on, Sam. Station Officer Steele has some plans today, and we don't want to be late."

"Right behind you, Penny."

Sam and Penny were walking up to where Station Officer Steele was with Elvis in his office. He was waiting to do a training exercise. "So, today's training is…" before he could finish, Sam and Penny walked in. "Sorry, sir." Sam apologized.

"As I was saying." He paused for a moment and sniffed a big stink. "Oh, dear. What's that ghastly smell?"

"It's not me." Elvis turned to Sam to smell the air from the dustbin they were cleaning out. "Ugh, that smells rotten."

"Sam, I think you need to clean your uniform, and yourself to get rid of the smell."

"Of course, sir. I'll head down there now."

Sam was walking out of the office to the shower which is next door to the briefing room. Penny and Elvis remained there to be assigned their roles in the training exercise.

Arnold was arriving in Cardiff after a 4 hour bus ride from Pontypandy. Trevor parked the bus outside the hotel he was staying at. "Here we are, Arnold."

"Thanks, Trevor."

"I'll be back in Pontypandy if you need anything."

"I'll remember that. Thanks."

Trevor left Arnold for his holiday. Arnold soon walked to the front desk of the hotel, he felt nervous as Ellie had known. He soon waited for someone to come up to the desk. She looked at him with a glare.

"Good afternoon, welcome to the Hilton in Cardiff. How may I help you?" she greeted.

"Hello, I had a holiday booking for a one day stay." replied Arnold.

"Ok, is there a surname I can find the reservation under?"

"Yes, it's McKinley."

The front desk clerk looked up the booking for Arnold while he found his papers. She then found his holiday reservation. "Ok, I found the reservation under the name Arnold McKinley."

"Yeah, I'm on holiday for only a day."

"Oh, ok. You're not from here, are you?"

"No, I came all the way from Pontypandy."

"Ah, I see. Is this your first time in Cardiff?"

"Yes, it is."

He was soon handed a room key with some information on the city, sights to see, and the phone numbers in case of emergency in Cardiff. Arnold looked a little nervous after he cooled off for a bit on the bus.

"Ok, I have you all set in room 602 with a view of the city. Here is the paper for all the best sights in Cardiff, emergency numbers to call in case of emergency, and a history of Cardiff."

"Wonderful, thanks."

"Enjoy your stay."

"Thank you."

As soon as Arnold was checked in for his hotel stay, he made his way to the room he was staying in. He was surprised by the wonderful view of the city. He set his bags down in a closet and changed into his clothes he wears outside of his fire service duty.
