"Yes sure! It's just a kick!"
Regina growled in low and threatening voice as she grabbed the old lady's hand squeezing it through the contraction. She soon grasped for air... the pain was horrifying. She felt like someone was piercing through her entire body.
The older woman held Regina's hand and rubbed her shoulder smoothly.
"It's okay it's okay! I can call a flight attendant if you want! Maybe we could find a pain killer for you."
Regina nodded her head negatively and when she was finally able to breathe she stood up supporting the lower part of her back with her left hand.
"Excuse me again!"
"Where are you going ma'am? I think you should sit down."
She mumbled and a death glare from Regina followed. The brunette woman gave the older woman an intimidating look filled up with anger and pain when she rolled her eyes and locked herself in the bathroom. She sat down on floor hiding her face as her heart started bearing faster and faster.
She was terrified. He had to stay in. No matter what, he had to stay in! She couldn't give birth to a baby on the air... it didn't sound right. After all, she had her birthing plan with her gynaecologist back in New York. She didn't wanna ruin her plans...
She was the kind of woman who wanted to have everything under control without even realising that sometimes we can't control absolutely everything. Babies had their own timing. And that was a fact.
She stood back up on her feet and breathed in and out panting.
Her breathing finally got stabilised and she became able to speak again. It was just a stupid Braxton Hick she thought! She wouldn't dare admit to herself that the big time had finally arrived. She wasn't ready. Not ready at all... she was way too focused on working things out with Emma lately, and fighting injustice in multiple cities around the world that she had really forgotten to spend some time to decorate the nursery, or visit the Lamaze classes. And now... there she was freaking out.
She took a very deep breath and heard another knock on the door.
"What does a lady have to do to have some privacy?"
She groaned and opened the door only to see the same flight attendant standing across her and smiling big.
"Miss Rivera informed me that you're quite in some discomfort and I wanted to check up on you. Could I please see the certification of your doctor about this trip please? We are very specific that women who are going through their third trimester and are close to their due dates shouldn't be travelling!"
Regina shook her head and swallowed hard looking away.
"Of course I know that! But I'm not that far along. I'm seven months."
She lied and looked back at the ginger haired girl with her eyebrow raised.
"Of course of course but could I please check out your paper?"
"You're doubting my words?"
She approached the shorter woman aggressively looking inside her eyes like she was about to suck in her soul. The flight attendant swallowed hard and looked away.
"It's part of the protocol ma'am."
She hesitated to say as she looked away.
"Oh really? Fine!"
She surrendered annoyed and grabbed the fake certification paper out of her back throwing to her face.
"Enjoy."
She smiled irritated walking back to her seat.
"Are you sure you're alright dear?"
Miss Rivera asked.
"Like haven't you done enough..."
The brunette woman rolled her eyes and sat down looking outside of the window.
The clock was ticking as the pressure down her abdomen grew bigger and bigger making the discomfort come and go. She couldn't stop checking on her watch. Three more hours till they land and her condition was getting worse. She was trying to fight the urge to scream every five minutes while she was sweating on her seat trying to avoid any eye contact with miss Rivera by her side.
Her boss apparently was asleep, and Emma was reading a book at the front place of the seat line completely focused on the content that she hadn't noticed anything going on.
50 more seconds till the next one... she thought counting the seconds on her watch as she took a deep breath preparing herself. She was keeping that wild boy in no matter what!
Her knuckles had turned white from the amount of pressure she was using to squeeze the handles of her seat as the contraction arrived earlier than she thought this time. The nagging pain down her spine and abdomen became even worse this time making her cover her mouth in order not to moan. She bowed down her head bitting her lips panting.
"Do you want me to call anyone for help dear? My my this is getting worse."
The granny next to her noted and intertwined her fingers with Regina's for support. The former queen pulled her hand away in great discomfort.
"NO! IM FINE!"
"Doesn't look like it. These contractions are getting closer and closer."
"And what are you an expert?"
She snapped.
"I was a former nurse. I can recognise labour from a braxton hick and these are not braxton Hicks miss..."
"Mills!"
Regina replied in surrender and leaned her head back on the seat breathing in and out heavily.
"Are you here alone?"
"No no... my wife is over there with our boss, but I really don't wanna alarm her. I'm Handling things okay."
Miss Riviera chuckled.
"That's what everyone says. You need some help. And probably an emergency landing. We need to inform the stuff."
"No! God no! He's staying in! I'm not giving birth inside a fucking plane 30 thousand feet above the ground!"
She growled as her face contorted in pain again. The older woman stood up rushing at the front part no listening at Regina's demands to come back. The same ginger flight attendant soon approached her holding the paper filled up with worry.
"Miss mills... these are fake."
"OKAY FINE! Yes... these are fake alright because this is a business trip that I couldn't skip that easily! Just keep your mouth shut and we're going to be okay."
She finally admitted trying to focus on her breathing as she clenched her teeth.
"I need to go to the bathroom..."
She mumbled and stood up barely balancing her weight this time. She took small steps towards the bathroom door when she heard Emma's voice calling her name from behind filled up with terror.
"Regina?"
"Emma..."
She turned around looking at her wife's forest green eyes and the huge pout on her face. She forced a smile and hold her lover's hand soothingly.
"Baby go sit down, I just wanted to use the bathroom.
"I thought we made a deal!"
Emma crossed her hands under her chest narrowing her eyes.
"Deal what deal?"
"In case you felt anything weird you'd tell me!"
"It's not the case then my dear."
She said in hoarse voice and looked away.
"Oh really? Cause miss Riviera made sure to tell me everything before you did. You're in labour!"
The blond woman said slowly freaking out as she gazed Regina's body movements and face expressions who showed nothing but pain.
"LABOUR?"
The flight attendant repeated in disbelief and widened open her eyes.
"Of course not..."
She swallowed hard feeling the next contraction slowly arriving.
"Baby, you're in pain. And we need to land this plane right away."
"You know that's not that simple ma'am! We can't just land on the sea."
Both Emma and Regina looked at each other filled up with worry.
"Then... we have no choice than doing this in here."
"No... fucking... way!"
Regina replied extremely pissed as she suddenly felt her knees shaking again. She leaned over emma placing her hands on Emma's shoulders breathing in and out as the pressure down there became even more persistent and annoying. She clenched her teeth feeling her body slowly squatting down.
"Holly shit!"
Emma spit out in shock trying to hold Regina's body up. She pulled her closer slowly massaging the lower part of her back to soothe the pained and tight muscles.
"Breathe... breathe! It's going to be okay!" We'll find a way babe, we always do!"
She run her finger through Regina's dark hair trying to soothe her but the brunette couldnt help it anymore. She let out an exasperated moan burying her head over Emma's collarbones trying to focus. Her entire body was tightening up while she run her fingers down her stomach pressing down the lowest part.
"We need three empty seats now."
Miss Rivera yelled grabbing a couple of pillows and coats to cover the cold leather seats.
"I'm gonna need hot water, scissors and blankets. Lots of them! Now people! Hurry up!"
She clapped her hands looking at the a couple of passengers which stood up from their seats looking around the plane for the necessities she asked.
Emma led Regina towards the three empty seats that she was supposed to deliver on, but the brunette woman fell down on her knees grasping for air as an agonising moan escaped her lips. Emma kneeled down behind her massaging her shoulders and naps smoothly whispering in her ear soothing words.
"We can do this babe! We can do this... We are the Swan-Mills! We never fail!"
She held Regina's trembling sweaty hands placing a soft kiss on them.
The former mayor and queen took a deep breath when her eyes widened open in surprise.
"What? what is it?!?"
Emma asked looking at Regina's eyes in terror.
"What are you feeling?"
The brunette looked down on the floor holding her protruding abdomen when the sound of a pop followed and warm liquid run down her thighs and legs forming a small puddle on the floor.
"Oh gosh..."
She mumbled and hurried her head on the seats as another strong contraction hit her making her double over in pain. At this point she didn't care anymore. She was tired of playing the strong one that tried to deal with everything on her own. She needed help. And she wanted that baby out now!
"Your water broke!"
Emma mumbled feeling her body turn numb. Panic was taking over her as she looked at the small puddle on the floor that made everything even more real than they already were.
It was happening... their son was coming sooner than they expected... of course he was! He had the Mills genes and Regina was never late!
Regina let out another moan and miss Rivera helped her lay on the plane seats and get comfortable surrounded by pillows. Nathan approached looking at them with wide eyes.
"What did I miss?"
"YOU SON OF A BITCH! It's your fault I'm into this shit right now! If only you hadn't convinced me to join you I wouldn't have to go through this here!"
Regina screamed pointing her finger to him making him jump in fear. Her eyes darkened in pain as she leaned her head back. Nathan stepped back for miss Rivera to sit down between Regina's legs.
"I need you to open up for me dear."
Regina looked away in embarrassment as her cheeks turned red.
"I'm not free porn for all these people watching at my... flower!"
She snapped and moaned in pain almost crushing the bones of Emma's hands.
"Honey this is not about people looking at you... you have to deliver the baby."
"It's okay miss swan I got this. Just give me a blanket. My job is to make sure that the mother feels comfortable and relaxed."
"Yeah... relaxed! That's how I'm feeling right now."
She rolled her eyes and swallowed hard breathing slowly through the pain.
Miss Rivera just smirked and helped Regina pull up her dress and panties. She put on a pair of latex gloves and inserted her hand down Regina's area to check on her dilation.
"You're already crowning dear. It's time to start pushing."
"Al- already?"
Regina froze looking at her in fear as small tears gathered at the corner of her eyes. Emma sat down behind Regina letting Regina's body land on her chest for extra support. She pulled Regina's hair back removing a couple of dark hair of her face.
"Unfortunately our son wasn't in the mood to ask before he makes his big appearance. Apparently he likes to make a big entrance just like his mother."
Emma pointed out and chuckled.
"Regina on the count of three I'm gonna need you to start pushing okay? Just focus dear!"
She smiled big spreading Regina's legs.
"When you're ready hold your knees up and push okay?"
Regina nodded with a pained moan reaching for Emma's arm.
"I'm here I'm here."
"We are landing in thirty minutes and the ambulance is already waiting for you guys outside the airport! Everything is going to be okay."
The flight attendant smiled giving the couple some courage.
"1,2,3! Let's go!"
Regina grabbed her knees pulling them close to her chest as she squeezed her eyes shut and started pushing as hard as she could.
"Well done baby! That was a good one."
"Brilliant indeed. When you feel the urge to push again catch your breath and push!"
Regina repeated what the nurse said when she collapsed on the emma again panting and screaming in pain. Agonising pain running down her body for minutes straight that felt like a century. She was exhausted. Tired and petrified. She had never scheduled this, and she hated surprises. She just wanted her son to be healthy and this nightmare to finally end. Emma was there tho supporting her every single minute by wiping the sweat from
Her forehead, whispering soothing words at her and making sure she felt comfortable and safe.
"Come on Regina you can't rest now! The head is out! Big push for the shoulders!"
The nurse instructed her.
"I'm tired... please... I can't anymore."
She squeezed her eyes shut as a pained sob escaped her lips forcing a couple of tears to come out as well.
Emma placed a kiss on her forehead.
"Shhh... it's fine! We are almost done here! Don't you wanna meet him?!? Don't you wanna see what does he look like? Well I'm excited! So come on push!"
"I can't...it burns!"
She mumbled.
"Babe, one minute of pain for a lifetime of happiness!"
She whispered placing a kiss on Regina's cheek.
Regina shook her head forcing a smile as she started pushing again.
"The shoulders are out Regina! Come on! One more push!"
The nurse cheered. The brunette woman shut her eyes closed forcing another push when she finally felt the small body slipping out of her own. She collapsed back on the pillows and Emma's body as she cried happily.
"Oh god finally!"
She groaned. The nurse smiled broadly as the passengers on the plane started clapping at the sound of the little boy's cries. She placed the baby on Regina's chest smiling big.
"Congratulations mamas!"
Emma's jaw dropped.
"Oh my goodness... hello baby... hi!"
She extended her little finger for the baby to hold looking at his big green eyes with a huge smile on his face. He had dark hair, chubby cheeks and a gorgeous little smile.
"I'm your mama..."
Emma spelled and Regina smiled broadly as she rubbed the baby's head with her finger.
"We made it dear."
She mumbled placing a passionate peck on Emma's lips.
"We have a baby!"
Emma smiled excitedly and held the little boy in her arms after covering him carefully with a blanket.
"Put on your seatbelts everybody! We are landing to Spain!"
The voice of the pilot echoed through the speakers.
"Are you ready for our honey moon love?"
"What?"
Regina frowned.
"If you think we are going to that mission with a newborn You're crazy. Let's just enjoy Spanish culture and beautiful landscapes shall we?"
Nathan smirked.
"I think Emma is right. We can make it without you girls. It was foolish of me to even think that bringing you guys to this mission was a smart choice. You both need some family time and vacations. Go have fun."
Regina chuckled.
"Fine I guess doing our honeymoon just on time wont harm."
"So you girls have a name for this little guy?"
The nurse asked smiling big.
"What about Aaron Swan Mills?"
"Aaron?"
Emma asked raising her brown.
"It's cute... and it suits him perfectly."
"Then Aaron it is. I like it! I wish Henry was here to meet him."
She kissed Regina again.
"Welcome to our crazy family Aaron. You're gonna love it!"
Regina said and smiled big winking at emma.
They finally landed to Spain and the paramedics were there waiting for them to arrive. They immediately took Aaron and Regina to the hospital making sure that everything was okay. They were finally a family. And every single fear and insecurity was gone... both Emma and Regina felt happier than ever. They had their sons and each other to count on... a beautiful journey was about to begin... with them stronger than ever. They finally got their happily ever after...
