Choking

A guest asked for a oneshot of Neal choking and needing CPR. Snow panics, not knowing what to do. Emma jumps into action. She had the training in order to become sheriff. Snow feels guilty she didn't know, Emma comforts her and offers to teach her.

Just wanted to thank you all guys. Today, I hit 9000 reviews! How awesome is that?! Wouldn't it be extra special super awesome if this story got to 10,000 reviews by the end of summer? ;)

"Such a good boy. You just love your cereal, don't you?" Snow cooed to her one-year-old. Neal grinned at her, taking another spoonful of the Cheerios. But this time, something went wrong. A cheerio went down the back of Neal's throat before he had the chance to chew it.

"Neal!" Snow cried out. She took him out his highchair and patted his back. Neal continued to choke, his face turning red.

Emma came running into the room hearing how scared her mom sounded. She saw that Neal was beginning to lose consciousness. She took her little brother off her mom and sat down, placing Neal face down on her lap. She gave him five firm blows to the back until the cheerio dislodged itself. Neal had lost consciousness. Emma quickly lay him on his back on the floor and tilted his head back. She then followed through with the steps for resuscitating her brother. Emma's heart was in her mouth. Snow was barely holding herself together. Luckily, Neal's eyes opened. His breathing began to return as he started to cry. Snow wasted no time in scooping him up, cradling him close to her. Snow sunk onto the sofa, tears forming in her own eyes.

"You're alright mom." Emma said, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Want me to call dad?" Snow nodded. Emma called her dad and filled him in on the situation. He was going to have the dwarves come cover and be straight over.

"Dad's just coming." Emma explained. Her mom was clearly still upset. "Take some deep breaths." Emma encouraged her. "Neal's ok."

"But he might not have been." Snow pointed out. "I couldn't save him. If you hadn't been here…" Snow couldn't even finish the sentence. Emma sat down beside her.

"But I was here." Emma reminded her. "I had to take a CPR class when I became sheriff. I can teach you as well?" Emma offered. Snow nodded.

"Thank you." She said. "Emma, you saved your little brother's life." Emma smiled.

"Big sisters look out for their little brother. It's what I'm here for."
