After high school, Betty spent the summer hitchhiking across the country. She'd had plans to see as much as she could before she would arrive in California to try her hand in the acting world. Everyone she knew was against her, her mother, her father, her sister, even her closest friends. They all thought it was a terrible idea and they all feared for her life, but Betty was determined and she wouldn't let anyone change her mind.
She had made it across the country with only a few minor inconveniences, mostly cash related. She'd used her years as a vixen to her advantage and worked at different gentlemen's clubs throughout her journey as supplemental income. To her surprise, she liked it. It was thrilling and empowering. If only her mother knew, she'd surely have a heart attack.
After fifteen days of catching rides, camping, a few nights couch surfing or in a cheap hotel, and finding an unexpected passion in dancing for money, Betty arrived in Hollywood. She of course took the time to take some cliché photos of the Hollywood sign before finding a hotel. After settling in, she spent the evening scoping out potential apartments and by morning, she'd managed to land one she could afford.
Upon meeting her landlord, a very handsome redhead about her age, she was completely love struck. It wasn't long before her life began to fall into place. Shed landed a few small commercials and began dating her landlord, Archie Andrews. Everything was going her way and she couldn't have been happier.
Two years later, Betty's life began to crumble around her. Unable to find work more than a few measly commercials that were hardly worth the effort, she was forced to find a part time job. She became a barista at a nearby coffee shop and she hated every second of it. Not only was her career a dead end but so was her relationship. Betty and Archie had been living together for just over a year and they'd slowly begun to drift apart. It seemed all they ever did was argue, but it wasn't until Betty caught him in their bed with another woman that she ended things. Surprisingly, she wasn't even upset about it.
After moving out of Archie's apartment and into a hotel room, Betty decided that she'd hit rock bottom. She was homeless, hated her job, and had no career in acting. Not only was her life a dead end, but she realized she didn't have a single friend to turn to and it made her miss home. She hadn't thought about home much, other than the few short phone calls to her mother every couple of months and she found herself missing the small town she grew up in. She spent one last night in her hotel room and in the morning she started on her journey back home.
