Lost in the storm- part 3

A guest asked for a oneshot of a 3rd instalment carrying on from Ch2569 "Lost in the storm" where there is a trip to the hospital. Emma refuses to let the nurses attend to her until her mom holds her to calm her.

Snow and Charming tried for hours to bring Emma's temperature down, but nothing was working. It was getting dangerous now, especially since she was so little. The parents knew she wasn't exactly going to be a fan of taking a trip to the hospital, but needs must.

"Sweetheart." Charming said, trying to keep Emma awake for long enough to explain what was happening. "You really aren't feeling good, huh?" Emma shook her head. Emma shook her head. She was trying so hard to get well again. She knew she would never get back into her full sized body until she was. "You've got a really high temperature, honey, so we're going to have to go to the hospital…"

"No!" Emma quickly responded. She hated hospitals. "I'll be good, just don't take me there!" She pleaded. Snow and Charming felt heartbroken.

"You are being good, baby. You're not going to the hospital because you've been bad. We're taking you there so you're not sick anymore." Charming promised her. He scooped Emma up in his arms. She feebly tried to fight him off, but she was too weak to do it properly.

Her strength remarkably returned as her mom carried her into the hospital. Just seeing a little girl, the hospital staff let Snow carry Emma through to her cubicle. Neither she nor Charming were going to explain the unique situation. The only problem was, Emma was refusing to let go of her mom to let the nurses treat her.

"Come on sweetie." One said nicely. "We won't hurt you. We're going to help make you all better…"

"NO!" Emma screamed, clinging to her mom for dear life. She knew how this worked. Sick kids weren't loveable. Sick kids were more work. Snow and Charming looked at each other, at a loss for what to do. They couldn't claw Emma off of Snow and force her onto the bet, further traumatising her. Her fever was making her delusional enough as it was. She was clearly trapped in a time she was sick as a child and things went horribly wrong. So Snow decided she was going to make things different for Emma this time. She was going to prove to their daughter that just because she was in hospital didn't mean she was going to be left alone.

"Ok." Snow said soothingly. "We'll do this together." Charming smiled. He thought that was a great idea. Snow calmly got onto the hospital bed with Emma still clinging to her like a koala cub. Snow then gently, but firmly, moved Emma so she was sitting on the bed in between Snow's legs. Snow kept her arms around Emma's middle, letting her know she wasn't going anywhere. Charming took her little hand in his as he sat beside them both. He wasn't going anywhere either. "Your dad and I are staying right here with you, Emma. Can you let the nurses help you now?" Snow asked her. Emma was still terrified, but she gave a shaky nod. One nurse smiled kindly and approached Emma with a thermometer. Emma tentatively opened her mouth.

"That's my clever girl." Snow praised her. Emma still didn't like this, not one bit, but at least she wasn't alone. Not like before.
