Family counselling- part 2

SillySuperMan asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch2539 "Family counselling" where Emma goes to Archie alone because she feels pushed out of her family again. Neal is now four. Archie decides to say screw it to patient confidentiality and confronts Snowing about it. Snowing decide to arrange another family counselling session.

"So, what exactly is it that made you feel less than your brother?" Archie asked Emma. She brought her knees to her chest on the couch.

"We have this tradition in the family built up where we go to Granny's for dinner every Tuesday." Emma began to explain. "We're all busy people, I don't see them as much as I used to. Those dinners mean a lot to me. Clearly, the feeling isn't mutual." Emma said bitterly.

"Why do you think that?" Archie pushed her.

"Neal's starting tee-ball." Emma told him. "It's happening on Tuesday evenings. They've cancelled our dinners. They haven't even rescheduled to another day. They've just outright cancelled." Emma explained.

"I can see why that would be upsetting." Archie said sympathetically. "Have you tried talking to them about it?" Emma shook her head. "Why not?"

"What's the point." Emma sighed. "I knew this would happen eventually." Emma got up. "I think I'm done talking. Thanks Archie."

"Emma, wait…" But Emma didn't wait. She left. Archie frowned. This was clearly some regression. He knew as a doctor he was meant to keep Emma's confessions secret, but he also had a duty of care to her. In this case, he felt his duty of care outweighed his responsibility to patient confidentiality.

Even though she'd ended her last session so abruptly, Emma agreed to return for the follow up session after much persistence from Archie. She didn't know what good it would do, but at least it would stop him from nagging. However, to Emma's surprise, she'd been duped again. There sat her parents. Emma sighed.

"I thought you weren't allowed to tell people what I talked about in here?" She grumbled. She sat down, knowing trying to leave would be pointless.

"Ordinarily, yes, you're right. However, on this occasion to prevent further incidents I thought it best to involve your parents again." Archie explained. Emma frowned. She didn't think this was best at all.

"Archie filled us in about how you've been feeling." Charming said gently. "Emma, did you really think we were just cancelling our Tuesday dinners?"

"Well haven't you?" Emma responded. That's certainly how it looked to her. Emma's parents shook their heads.

"Of course we haven't. We love those dinners. We don't see you as much anymore, that's some quality time we can always rely on." Snow said, hurt that Emma thought they were just giving them up. "Neal's only four. He's not joining a permanent team. You must have misunderstood. He's doing a few weeks intensive training type thing. We're only putting it off for a few weeks, and that's why we asked you to come to lunch with us last Sunday. We thought it was weird you said no when we knew you had no plans." Both Snow and Charming were now putting the pieces together.

"Oh." Emma said quietly, beginning to feel a bit silly. She had assumed Neal was joining a club.

"Those dinners mean as much to us as they do to you, Emma." Charming told her. "We're not giving them up any time soon." Emma nodded.

"Maybe I was a little quick to jump to conclusions." She admitted.

"It's alright." Snow said gently, understanding that was Emma's way of an apology. They both understood that Emma's childhood had left her with scars nobody else could see. They knew they could never fully heal those scars, but they could show her they would never add any more.
