After another two weeks, Moe finally had the strength to open his bar back up. However, he decided to permanently change the closing time from 2 a.m. to 1 a.m. He didn't want to lose another friend to drunk driving. When Homer and the guys noticed he was back open, they came in and resumed their daily drinking.

"Finally!" Homer said out loud. "I don't think I could've gone another week with my family talking about Barney."

"You seem to have gotten over it pretty quickly, Homer," Lenny commented.

"Yeah, it usually takes you longer to get over things. It took you two months to accept that the Kwik-E-Mart stopped selling donut-flavored squishies," Carl added.

"It was easy to move on once they began selling them again. Heh heh heh," Homer chuckled.

The guys took their seats and Moe poured them their first rounds of Duff.

"I see you've changed the closing hours Moe," Carl pointed out.

"Yeah, I don't want to bury another guy underground, or at least someone I didn't try to kill."

"Come on, Moe. Barney was the only guy in Springfield who could drink as much as he did that night. There's no way that happens again without him," Homer responded.

"I don't know Homer. You gave Barney a run for his money," Carl said.

"Yeah, what about the time you and Flanders went to town and married those chicks in Vegas?" Lenny asked.

Homer cringed at the thought of his Vegas wife. He hated being reminded of that situation.

"Lucky for me she was the one who died and not me," Homer grumbled.

"Well, I guess what happens in Vegas does stay in Vegas," Moe said.

After only an hour, Lenny and Carl decided to head home.

"You guys are leaving already?" Homer asked. "Don't tell me this is about Barney, is it?"

"We didn't say anything about Barney, Homer," Carl said.

"Yeah, we have to work tomorrow anyway."

"So? There's still plenty of daylight left."

"The sun just went down Homer," Moe said.

"What are you talking about? It's right there!" Homer responded as he pointed to the sky behind the window.

"That's the moon, Homer," Carl said.

"D'oh!" Homer shouted. "I forgot the moon was made of cheese instead of fire."

Once Homer finally stopped talking, Lenny and Carl headed out the door for home. Homer just sat on the stool by himself. Although Lenny and Carl never left this early, they always left before Homer or Barney did. Other than Moe, Homer always had Barney to talk to in the later hours, but not anymore. Homer just sat in frustration. Things had been different since Barney died, and he wasn't liking it at all.
