Grounded for a week- part 2
CharmingsDaughter asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch2615 "Grounded for a week" which has been combined with a guest review. It will be read and see.
No. Just…no. This was ridiculous. Why had she put up with it for two days already?! Well, not a moment longer. She was a grown ass woman. She wasn't brooding up in her bedroom all day just because her parents said so…but nor did she have the guts to just waltz out the front door. Emma smiled to herself. Unlike most people, she had no need to use the front door. She had magic. So, within mere seconds, Emma was out of her bedroom and in a booth at Granny's ready to order some onion rings.
An hour or so later, Snow went up to Emma's room to tell her to come down for dinner, only to find the bedroom empty. She wasn't in the bathroom, and she definitely wasn't downstairs. She had snuck out.
"Charming." Snow sighed. "Emma's gone." Charming rolled his eyes. They should have expected this much from her at one point.
"Where do you think she is?" He asked.
"She's been cooped up here eating healthy food for two days. She'll be wanting a dose of saturated fats." Snow told him
"So Granny's then?" Charming clarified. Snow nodded. Together, the parents went to bring their daughter back home.
By the time Snow and Charming arrived at Granny's, Emma had finished her onion ring starter and had moved onto her double bacon cheeseburger main course. Snow and Charming slipped into the booth opposite her. Emma barely batted an eye. She expected they'd find her sooner rather than later.
"Put the burger down. Walk out without making a scene and we'll only add a week to your grounding." Charming said quietly, not bothering to be subtle this time.
"No." Emma replied simply, taking another bite of her burger.
"Excuse me?" Snow asked her.
"You heard me, no. I'm not coming home until I want to. I'm not grounded." Emma told them.
"Oh, is that so?" Charming said sternly. "So you've decided you're doing a month of desk duty?"
"No, I've decided I'm not doing either." Emma told them. "Here's the thing guys, I am twenty-eight years old. You cannot put me on desk duty because I wasn't listening to you at home, that's not the way things work. I might live with you, but that can easily change if you keep treating me like a child." Emma reminded them. "I know our situation is hard, but I'm not actually a child. You both need to accept that." Snow and Charming took this information. Emma was right, they couldn't enforce their punishments.
"You do have a point." Charming had to admit. "However, although you may not be a child, you will always be our child. We're sorry we let our emotions get the better of us and treated you like a child, however, we want respect, Emma. Respect means not making rash decisions that might have serious consequences when other paths could be considered." Charming told her. Emma nodded. She guessed they had a point.
"I could make an effort to be more considerate." She admitted.
"Ok." Snow said gently, really, that was all that they wanted. "I guess you're un-grounded then." Emma nodded briskly. They were all just glad that was the issue sorted.
