NOT A NEW CHAPTER!=^-^=
While I'm still going through possible add-ons for this fic, they are not typed in any real form I'm sorry to say. I know, terrible of me right? Never mind that though, since this contains something new!
This is a little taste of my next fic involving the Gabriel Playing Matchmaker plot I've been playing with recently. I figured giving a sneak peak in The Interview would garner more readers,(shameless plug) but please be warned before you take a look. This next fic will be rated M. Now its not going to be full of sex and stuff, but there will be issues involving Sexual Harassment and references to alcohol. I wanted to do a more aged up fic with the characters as well as few things I couldn't do in the other two because of situation circumstances or I just couldn't find a place. I had Caulderpine look this over for both quality and to help me rate it appropriately. Thank you! I will be reusing OCs you may recognize.
The working title of this fic will be "A Convoluted Matter" Please enjoy this sneak peek and let me know what you think?=^-^=
"Yes, I already know that, Adrien, but that's not what I actually came to talk to you about." He moved the magazine behind his back so he could clasp his wrist. "I know I'm not the only one tired of this story. You're obviously just as done with it if your comment just now was any indication." There really wasn't any doubt since this story had been circulating off and on for over a year not to mention how it was done back when Adrien was home schooled for Lycee. They'd tried staying silent, and outright denying it to no avail. Adrien had even tried dating a few models to bury the story, but he never wanted to do more than one date with any of the girls. It would have been more effective if he'd at least had a second or third date.
"Yes, very done. It doesn't really help when I'm forced to model with her either." He nearly spat with more irritation than he'd wanted to.
His father gave him a warning glare before continuing. "Indeed, though Stephen has informed me of the circumstances. That's what brings me to this proposal. I have not made it a secret that I'm disappointed you were born without a talent for design."
Adrien sighed and nodded while adjusting the towel on his shoulders. "Yeah, I think I figured it out after your first few design lessons." Though they were ridiculous if he was being honest. Who spends hours going over the parts of a suit with a 7 year old? He was lucky his mother was able to get him out of there, because his father was very persistent.
"Yes, which brings me to my proposal. This will hopefully solve both of our problems."
Adrien could only hope it involved getting rid of Lila, but he was never that lucky. Lila was a pretty popular model which he could only credit to the fact not many people knew the real her. She was a scary good actress. "What did you have in mind?" It couldn't hurt to at least listen. His father didn't always give him a choice when it came to the press.
The designer nodded before he started, happy his son sounded receptive. It wouldn't work unless Adrien wanted to do it after all. "Next week I will announce a contest; The Dress Agreste contest. For this contest, I will be accepting submissions for an original outfit to be worn by you. I will narrow down the submissions to 10, and you will choose the winner."
Adrien raised a brow. "So, a design contest? And you want me to choose the winner?" Gabriel nodded. "But… Wouldn't this be so you can have someone to take over the company?" That is why he brought up the whole childhood of disappointment thing right?
"Not the company, but the designing aspect. You will still take over the Gabriel brand, Adrien." He would never trust his business, built from the ground up, to some outsider. "My intention for having you make the selection involves the prize. A weeklong trip to New York with you as their personal escort. The winner will come along when I go to Audrey's exhibition in November." He then grew a bit more serious with a leveled tone. "I want you to date the winner."
The next morning Adrien was brought into the studio by Nathalie who had made hour long appointments for Adrien to meet with five of the finalists. The other five would be for tomorrow. "We'll start with Cyrano Stern." She directed him to a studio room. "After him will be Francious Denali, and then Lola Viennie before lunch." She then showed him the tablet schedule where Nino's name was labeled for his lunch hour. "I've already contacted Mr. Lahife to have lunch here, but pretend it's a surprise." She finished with an amused expression at how surprised he was.
"Sure, I can do that." She checked her watch and nodded before heading down the hall. Adrien walked into the studio and instantly froze. It really should have occurred to him with the name, but why didn't it!?
Cyrano turned from the desk and smiled. "Ah! Adrien Agreste, in the flesh!" He held his arms wide as if he was waiting for a hug. "How fortunate am I to have such a chance to tailor clothes for an Adonis as you?" Adrien was still frozen from shock. His father had chosen a man for a finalist! It wasn't that his father wasn't open to a male designer since he himself was male, but he wanted Adrien to date one! Did his father know Cyrano was a man!? Were there any others? "Mr. Agreste? Is something the matter?"
"Adrikins? Did you wake up Marinette?"
"Yeah, but we're not sure where the meeting is since they closed the outdoor café." He heard a muffled sound from the other side of the line.
"No, no, Adrikins. Of course they're closed! Anyway, they just started so Marinette can't come now."
The model's eyes widened at that and he saw the curious expression Marinette gave him. "But she-"
"Calm down, Adrikins, I took care of my mom. I mentioned Marinette's latest project for me and she let it go. Am I not the best?" She asked without expecting an answer. "And you know what the best deserves? A coffee run. I have Sabrina working on my latest media post so have Marinette grab Starbucks for us. Actually, you should go with her since you know what I like; bye."
"Bye…" He put away his phone and the designer looked at him hopefully.
"So?"
"Chloe said you missed the start, but not to worry. She covered for you."
Marinette slumped against the railing. "I missed it!?"
"I told you its fine, didn't I? Chloe covered for you. She wants you to pick up coffee as thanks."
The designer rolled her eyes. "I wonder if she didn't arrange this on purpose so I'd go get her coffee."
So 3 little bits and who knows what part of the fic they're from!? Anyway, I hope to post the first part this week. Just keep in mind that this will be rated higher than any of my previous fics. (I'd classify it as 16+ if I was thinking manga rating)=^-^=
