Working at the shelter

A guest (on the off-chance you're being serious, I'm not putting your number on here) asked for a oneshot of something to do with Emma and dogs.

"Ok guys, I'm bringing in the food. Don't…ah come on!" Emma tried to be annoyed, but how could she? They were all so darn cute! Charming chuckled from the other side of the little pen. He still volunteered at the animal shelter once a month. Recently, they'd had a pregnant bitch brought in. She'd given birth to a little of nine pups. Most had already been adopted, but they wouldn't be able to go to their new homes for a couple of weeks yet. So it was left to the volunteers at the shelter to help out the poor pups' mother. Charming had asked Emma to come give him a hand. Emma had reluctantly agreed, but she soon found the puppies to be irresistible. She acted like she hated being dragged out her bed early on her day off to come help look after a bunch of baby dogs, but in reality, she was loving it.

"Those teeth are razor sharp, huh?" Charming chuckled as the puppies attacked Emma's shoes.

"Sure dad, just let me get attacked by a pack of dogs and just stand there laughing." Emma grumbled. Charming laughed again. He came into the pen and helped her distribute the food.

"See, risking my life coming in amongst these dangerous wild animals just to keep you safe." Charming teased her. Emma rolled her eyes. She would keep up her "I'm too cool to find these puppies unbearably cute" act, but Charming saw right through it. It was just as well he had secretly adopted Emma's clear favourite puppy on her behalf. He couldn't wait to see her face when she found out.
