The fever talking

Roger dodger asked for a oneshot of Emma waking up disorientated and wandering out of the loft. She's been de-aged to eleven. Snowing wake up and go looking for her. They come up empty handed and locator spells aren't working. With the help of Neal and Rosie (who are older teens) they find her asleep behind Granny's.

Emma's eyes cracked open. She groaned. Something wasn't right. She was awake, but she still felt like she was asleep. Something told her that she had to get to Granny's. Her family was at Granny's having dinner. She was going to be late! Emma stumbled out her bed, why was the world spinning? Emma didn't have time to wonder why it was evening and dark outside but still so hot. She was going to be late. Why was everything around her so big? Emma fumbled around her dresser until she found her bag. She grabbed her house keys to let herself out. She hoped they didn't start without her!

The sound of the keys in the front door woke Charming up first. He got up to investigate just as Emma left. The sound of the door slamming woke Snow up behind him.

"What's going on?" Snow slurred sleepily. "Is someone in the house?"

"I don't think so, but I'll go check." Charming promised. He pressed his lips against Snow's and grabbed his sword. Carefully, he searched the whole home. Neal and Rosie were still sleeping peacefully. When he got to Emma's room, however, she was gone. She had been staying with them for the week whilst she got over a lingering infection. She had been well on the mend, but something about this told Charming something was wrong.

"It was Emma." Charming told Snow as he came down the stairs. "She's left the house."

"What's going on?" Neal asked as he and Rosie both came out their rooms. "What's with all the noise? It's four in the morning!"

"Your sister's missing." Snow explained. "Get changed. We need to find her."

Ten minutes later and the family were out searching for Emma. Neal tried to use his magic to enchant one of Emma's objects, but it wasn't working. So it was only good old-fashioned pounding the streets that would find Emma.

"She could be anywhere." Snow sighed. "Charming, what if she's hurt?"

"She'll be fine, Snow." Charming promised her, squeezing her hand. "Our girl's tough." Snow nodded, continuing to shine her torch as they searched all over town for Emma. It was Neal that spotted something first. His torch caught sight of some blonde hair.

"There!" He called out. The family ran over.

"What?" Rosie said, shocked at the sight. "Is that…Emma?"

"I think it is, sweetheart." Charming said, he would recognise that face anywhere. "Although I think we now know why your locator potion didn't work, Neal. That scarf didn't belong to Emma when she was younger." Charming bent down. It appeared Emma had turned herself into a little girl.

"Emma," Charming said, gently shaking her shoulder. "Emma honey." Emma's eyes opened. Charming frowned, she was hot to the touch.

"Why am I outside?" Emma asked. "Am I late for dinner?" Snow and Charming were concerned. She was hallucinating.

"No, baby." Snow told her. "You're just in time."

"Here, let me help you." Charming said, picking Emma up. Emma rested her weary head against his chest and within seconds she was asleep again. Snow came over and felt her forehead.

"We need to get her home." Snow told Charming. He nodded in agreement. They had to sort this out, and fast.
