Drowning- part 2

Once Lover asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch2617 "Drowning" where…read and see.

"You know, it'll be a lot easier for us all to sleep if I'm back in my own cabin…"

"Emma." Both her parents sighed. They were refusing to let her go back to her own cabin. She'd had a nasty bump to the head, and she'd been in the water for too long. No, she was staying with them tonight. She could sleep on the bed with Snow and Charming would make do in the hammock. Emma pouted. Charming came over with the strips of bandage he had made out of an old shirt.

"Ok, lets sort this head out." He told her. First, he looked into Emma's eyes, the pupils seemed normal enough.

"Do you have a headache?" He asked her. Emma shook her head.

"It's sore where I hit it, but it's not a headache." Emma told him. Charming nodded, continuing to assess the injury.

"Any sickness? Ringing in your ears? Do you feel dizzy?" He asked her in quick succession. Emma rolled her eyes.

"I'm fine." She sighed. "It's just a little bump to the head." Charming fixed her with a look.

"I'd hardly call that a little bump to the head." He said, pointing to the injury before he patched it up as best he could. Once he was satisfied that she was alright, he turned to Snow.

"She's good to sleep." He promised her. Snow nodded. Charming leaned over and pressed his lips firmly against hers, since they wouldn't be sharing a bed for the night. This resulted in a disgusted noise from Emma.

"You two are gross." She commented. Snow chuckled.

"You won't be saying that in a few years when you're chasing after some boy wanting him to kiss you." Snow couldn't help but laugh out loud at the identical faces of complete disgust from Emma and Charming. "But enough of that for just now." Snow gently got Emma lying down and under the covers. "You've had a long day."

"I don't need to sleep." Emma said, clearly drowsy.

"Mmm-hmm." Snow commented, settling in behind Emma. She frowned as she felt her starting to shiver. It certainly wasn't cold in their little cabin. "Are you alright Em?" Snow asked her.

"Yeah." Emma responded, her teeth beginning to chatter. "Just a bit chilly here is all." Snow and Charming shared concerned looks. If Emma was cold here, that probably meant she was coming down with something.

"It's alright, here." Snow scooted in behind Emma, wrapping her arms around her. "Nice and cosy." Emma rolled her eyes, but didn't reject the hug. It was free heat, after all. Snow went on autopilot, after that. It was just an instinct buried deep inside her. She began humming one of the tunes she used to hum when she was pregnant with Emma. Although rather than rubbing her own swollen belly, she ran her hands through Emma's hair. Neither Snow or Charming said a word as Emma began to drift off to sleep. Snow carefully pressed a kiss to the top of her head. She held Emma close to her, as though scared something might go wrong and she might be taken once more. But she wouldn't be. All would be peaceful in that cabin that night.
