"Can't you hurry up! You've been working for A WHOLE YEAR NOW! I need the warehouse to build my next big inventio-"
"Easy, Varmitech. Or else I might just slip and forget to deal with the brothers for you." the college-aged woman's fingers tapped on, barely glancing up as she spoke. Her laptop screen was dark, a black background to the window she was speedily filling out with ice blue text as she filled in segments of code, some copy pasted for simplicity, others completely free hand. Off to her side sat another laptop, a frozen image of the brothers in question on the screen, light blue and green lights emitting from the paw print on their chests.
She sat on the floor next to a large, hanging mass of metal suspended by cords, reptilian in appearance though it had a set of elk-like antlers protruding from the back of its head. She'd stained its steel chassis a navy blue, and quite frankly, he thought it was an ugly color choice. What's wrong with plain old gray?
Zach grumbled for a moment before his eyes caught the greyscale vest at her feet, partially dismantled, most notably the paw print in the center. Well. The lack of. Cables stretched from all three, the suit, the woman's laptop and an unsealed panel on the machine's neck. She only paused to glance up once she caught his eyes , a small smug smile slipping across her face as she followed his awed gaze to her feet.
"How did.. you get one of their suits..?" he looked in disbelief as he knelt down, gently picking up the remains of the vest and looking it over. Definitely Aviva's work. How did she dismantle it so quickly?!
She smirked, reaching next to her, where he couldn't see.
"Human ingenuity, Varmitech. Think less with your robots and less about the brothers, and you might be able to do somethin' like this too."
She tossed him another vest, though not as heartily sewn as Aviva's handiwork, it appeared almost the exact same as theirs, and the one in pieces on the floor.
"There's you one too. Had extra materials. I even simplified the coding for ya." She sighed, silent for a moment.
"You're welcome." She huffed a little, before turning back to her computer screen, another window popping up alongside the coding box, a small blue bar slowly stretched across the screen.
"What was your name again..?" He gazed over the black vest in his hands, astonished that she was even openly willing to share her findings with him.
She raised an eyebrow as she gave him a joking glare. "You forgot me already, Zach? Considering I've been using your warehouse, you keep an awful loose rein... Don't let that go to your head either, I could've very easily found someone else's warehouse to work at."
"I didn't ask where you could've worked." His tone darkened as he glared right back at her with his piercing green eyes. She retaliated with her own frosted gaze, silent for a moment before finally speaking.
"Bluemyst Grace. You remember Reese? He was my brother."
"Ah." Zach nodded. He remembered now. With a smirk, he decided to spite her a little further, she if she shared that same pride that he and his rival both possessed.. she could be a very good asset for him. "The guy that couldn't shoot two birds out of the sky?"
Her gaze hardened into a hostile glare as she pulled the cables from the machine's neck without looking.
"He backed out because murder is illegal. Then you played the 'lil ol me' card and threw the blame on him even when it was your gun."
Suddenly, he grew suspicious. "Then why are you helping me?"
She suddenly gave a small laugh, then went silent for another moment. "Why does anything have to have a reason?" She shrugged a little.
"That, and you won't get away with framing this time." She casually shut her laptop and stood, placing it on the crate she had been sitting on.
She screwed the plating back onto the beast's neck, before slipping her hand between a slim opening on the beast's side.
"Activate..."
It hummed to life, cords from above disconnecting, leaving the beast to stand on its own four feet. Now he could tell, it was a lanky dragon, icy blue eyes much similar to its creator's.
"Think you're going to intimidate me with-"
"Shock Dragon."
Suddenly, beast was consumed in white light, and when the blinding lights faded, what stood there was a deep sapphire beast, ridged jaws, and swirls on its body glowing a light electric blue. Those icy eyes now beamed, as the usual casing for the creature power suit consumed the metal framing, building itself out of a multitude of creature anatomical references, complete with a pair of wings nearly as wide as the body was long...
He hated to say it.. but this beast impressed him. She had modified the suit to amalgate the varmints' DNA and apply them without having to touch a critter.. interesting. It actually brought him some hope, now that he had a copy in his hands.
"What's it supposed to do?"
Blue bit back an excited smile, "Wwwwell, Shock Dragon- hm." The beast turned its head towards her as she mentioned its name, curiously awaiting her command.
She thought for a few moments. "Yknow how unbalanced ecosystems can end up with overgrown undergrowth? The systematic burning of choked forests can actually help trees build back up, and therefore provide a better habitat for animals-"
"ECH- okay." He almost gagged. She seemed to give a mixture of a snort and a smirk.
"Well, if you're helping the stinking animals, then why are you helping me then? How do I know you're not working for them!" He near immediately sold himself on this thought, to which she rolled her eyes.
"I don't work for anyone, not even you." She shook her head slightly, seeming tired that she even had to state it. "And I'll put it like this. If animals went extinct, then you wouldn't be able to have nor sell your fancy little robot contraptions. Speaking of, I hope you have your list ready."
"My what?"
"List. Of animals you want?" she groaned, Shock Dragon standing alongside her with a quiet grumble as well, sensing its master's irritation.
"Oh, that can wait! When you get rid of the brothers, I'll have all the time in the world!"
She cocked an eyebrow, "I'm not killing them. Nah. I'm your distraction. You get your animals," She placed a hand on the machine's side, shrugging. "And I get my Shock Dragon. We're both happy. Kratts won't even know they're gone."
He scowled, barking an order, summoning his Zachbots. He turned back to her, and her magnificent beast of machinery. "And what if I stop you! I don't need you and your tin foil wind up toy! You GAVE me one of their power suits, I can just make robots with them myself now!"
"Is that so?" She then seemed to give a menacing smile, Shock Dragon slowly lowered its head to its master's level, a deepening growl vibrating within its chest as Zachbots circled them.
"GET THEM!"
With a simple forehead to forehead bump, they both were consumed in an ice blue light as Zachbots rushed forwards, crowding the beam before being thrown back from the violent explosion of electricity and blistering blue flame.
"AAAAAAAA-" Zach screamed as the flames consumed the mass of Zachbots, leaving the remains of his beloved machines on fire, and twitching as their coding burned out between himself and the beast.
She stood reinvigorated, those eyes now had very faint white slits, and despite this reinvigoration, she screeched when a small electric shock rippled throughout its body. She stood there for a moment, braced for it to happen once more, but then slowly lifted her eyes to meet Zach's once more. That sawblade of a mouth seemed to smooth and curve, into a simulated fanged smile.
"As I was saying..." The beast- Shock Dragon advanced forwards, simply hopping over the corpses of robotics as she rapidly caught onto him, pinning him to the ground with a simple paw to the chest.
"You've nothing on Shock Dragon."
