Seeking help- part 2

Reading Pixie asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch2628 "Seeking help" where Snowing see the after effects of the abuse when Emma accidentally breaks something, sees her dad and screams "Sorry!"

It was painful for Snow and Charming to see the woman their daughter had become in such a short space of time. She was so timid, where before she had been bold. Quiet, where she had plenty to say. Scared, where she had been brave. Their lion of a daughter had been turned into a mouse.

Emma crept around their house like she was frightened of being seen. Like she was frightened of who lay in the shadows. Snow and Charming were doing their best to give Emma time and space to come back to herself, but it was clear that she was struggling. It only became clearer when she was getting herself a glass of water one evening and didn't hear her dad come in.

"Hey Em." He said gently. Even his gentle tone started Emma. She gasped. She dropped the glass. It fell, tiny fragments of glass shattered all across the kitchen.

"I-I'm sorry!" Emma shouted. She suddenly got down on her knees and began to search out the pieces. "I'll clear it up right away…"

"Emma, Emma sweetie." Charming said, he came over and helped Emma back to her feet. "You're going to cut yourself."

"But it was my fault." Emma said, voice shaking. "I need to clear it up. I'm sorry."

"Oh baby don't be, it's just a glass." Charming reached out to stroke Emma's cheek. It broke his heart the way she flinched. He pulled back. "Emma, it was an accident. It's just a glass. Nobody's mad at you baby. Don't hurt yourself like that, ever, for the sake of clearing it up. I'll get the brush and pan and sort it. You go sit down, relax. You're alright princess." Charming promised her. Emma nodded shakily, making her way out of the kitchen. Charming watched her go, he looked down at the tiny pieces of glass spread about the kitchen. So broken, like Emma. Shattered, just like his heart.
