A/N: Hello everyone! This is my late submission for Saskura x Shisui week! Day 2: Hogwarts AU. Read my note at the end please!
Adventures at Hogwarts
Chapter 1: A Pink Koala
Sakura was utterly screwed.
That bloody snitch. She thought to herself as she frantically flew around the quickly darkening Quidditch field.
That stupid, stupid, bloody snitch.
Sakura was now flying higher, closer to the goal posts for a better vantage point to scan the empty field. It was getting harder to see as the sunset.
They would have been able to find the snitch in no time. Sakura thought longingly about her friends, Sasuke and Naruto.
Sakura knew she should have asked for their help to begin with—they were both brilliant quidditch players. They broke records making into onto their house teams in the first year. Even if Sasuke was the seeker on the Slytherin team while Sakura was trying out for Gryffindor, he would have helped. And taken the opportunity to criticize everything she did. But nonetheless, if he taught her, she knew she would be doing a lot better than she was now.
With Naruto…it can be a hit or miss. He was the Gryffindor's seeker and has been Sakura's friend since they first met on the Hogwarts Express. He's also the biggest goof and…sometimes not the sharpest tool in the toolbox. Yet, he gives Sasuke a run for his money during Gryffindor vs Slytherin matches.
Sakura was now headed towards to opposite goalpost on the schools standard Cleansweep 4 brooms. They proved to be quite shoddy and bumpy to ride. Sakura wishes she could blame the broom when she was trying to throw the quaffle earlier, but she knew that was her own poor skills.
"What are you doing?" A bemused voiced asked from below her.
With a start Sakura jerked her broom around and saw none other than the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain.
Oh fuc—
Her thoughts were cut short as the broom gave a big shudder in response to her flinch. Sakura flipped upside down, hanging for her life and resembling a koala.
A tinkling laugh sounded from somewhere beneath her. She tried to get upright but her nerves and embarrassment made her body quiver uncontrollably.
"Are you going to stay there all night?" Shisui called up to her after a few moments.
Sakura ignored him. She tried to angle the broomstick towards the ground but being upside-down made it difficult. She shrieked as the broomstick began to rise instead of descend.
"Do you need help?" Shisui asked, sounding amused.
"No!"
She is not going to let the quidditch captain think she couldn't even fly. Sakura took a few calming breathes. Then she used all her strength to heave herself upright on the still rising broom. She surveyed the figure below her. She can't see Shisui clearly but swears there's a smile on his face. With another deep breath Sakura descends.
"Those Cleansweeps are a piece of work. I wouldn't think of riding 'em to the tryouts." Sakura was right, there was a huge grin on Shisui's face.
But her attention quickly caught on the fluttering wings of something grasped in his hand.
"Looking for this?" Shisui held out that stupid, glossy, golden ball that had gotten her into this mess.
"Where did you find it?!" Sakura exclaimed, grasping the snitch tightly in her hands and returning it to its compartment in the quidditch supply box.
"I think I should be the one asking questions. Imagine walking back from Hogsmeade and suddenly getting pinged on the head by a snitch. I thought I was finally going mental from thinking of Quidditch so much." Shisui dramatically intoned.
"I-I didn't know the snitch would leave the quidditch field."
"Guy-sensei places a charm before matches to give the snitch a boundary so our seekers aren't rampaging around the castle to get the snitch. Though I must ask—you aren't planning on challenging Naruto for the seeker position are you Koala girl?" Shisui sounded dubious.
"I wasn't thinking of it! I just wanted to look at the snitch, I didn't think it would fly out of my hands so fast And my name isn't Koala girl!" Sakura shot back defensively as her cheeks turned pink again.
Shisui knew perfectly well what her name was. She and Naruto often went to the Uchiha compound during summer breaks to visit Sasuke. He was usually with Itachi or carrying out pranks. Some of the Uchiha didn't like it when a "mudblood" like Sakura or "half-breed" like Naruto came around. She was grateful for the times Shisui took the attention of of them and flipped it onto the uptight elders by pulling pranks on them.
Shisui held up his hands in a mock surrender. "So tell me, Sakura-chan, what are you doing late at night in the Quidditch field?"
After humiliating herself in-front of the Quidditch Captain, how could Sakura admit she was here to try out for the team. She had secretly spent nights training to strengthen her body and fly better. Today, while everyone was at Hogsmeade, she broke into the broom-shed to try and practice with the actual equipment. Unlike many of her classmates, Sakura couldn't practice at home over the break. As a muggle-born, she lived in a muggle community, where flying on a broomstick would certainly get her in trouble with the Ministry.
"I'm sorry. I'll get going." Feeling defeated, Sakura hefted the box over her shoulder, ready to trudge it back to the broom-shed.
"Woah there! Be careful!" Shisui's hand quickly grasped the box, afraid she would injure herself. He was surprised to find how easily the tiny, 3rd year was able to hold onto the large and heavy box. With a grunt, he lifted the box out of her hands and onto the ground.
"I didn't mean that you can't be here! Though…maybe next time let me know before you borrow our quidditch stuff." Shisui placed a gentle hand on Sakura's shoulder and stared down at her.
His long lashes framed his warm and kind eyes. She could strikingly feel the hand on her shoulder. Sakura buried her face in her red and gold stripped scarf to hide her pink cheeks. She mumbled something into the fabric.
"Sorry, I didn't catch that?"
"I-I want t-to try out for the Quidditch team."
"That's fantastic Sakura-chan. What do you want to try out for?" Shisui gave Sakura an encouraging smile.
Sakura felt her eyes burn and tried to fight back the tears of frustration. What position could she play? Practicing alone wasn't helpful at all. She should have asked for help to begin with. Tryouts are coming up next weekend, and she just knows she is going to embarrass herself out there.

Shisui became alarmed as her green eyes continued to water and her lower lip began to tremble.
"No, No, No. Don't cry. I'm sorry, at least I think I am? Did I say something? Never mind that, don't cry!" He rambled as he tried to brush away her tears.
"There's no way I'll make it on the team" Sakura cried.
"As captain, I think I'll be the judge of that Sakura-chan."
"I'm going to embarrass myself at tryouts." Sakura continued to wail. She was getting alarmingly louder. "I don't even know what to try out as!"
Shisui felt panicked, he didn't have much experience with girls, and here was one crying in front of him.
"You'll do great!" Shisui tried to reassure her. "Uh-er-do you want a tissue?"
Shisui fumbled around his robes, finding nothing. In the empty field, her cries seemed magnified.
What would Mikoto-obasan do?
He pulled her into an awkward hug to muffle her cry and patted her head with a few clunky gestures.
"Don't worry so much Sakura-chan! How about a private lesson tomorrow? I can see how you play and what position suits you."
Her cries cut off and she look up at him with her bright, apple green eyes.
"Really? You'll really do that for me?"
Shisui nodded, weary at her rapid change in emotions. With a squeal Sakura returned his hug with so much fervor he could've sworn he felt his ribs crack a bit.
How is she so strong! Might give our beater a run for his money. Shisui gasped for air and tried to push her off him.
"W-we should head back to the common room." He wheezed out when she finally let go.
"No, I'll grab that." Shisui said when Sakura moved to pick up the quidditch box again. He tried not to show he was struggling as he staggered under its weight.
~o-o~
Naruto was sitting by the fire in the Gryffindor common room playing exploding snap with Kiba and Lee. He glanced over to the portrait hole as it opened and saw Sakura come in followed by a tired looking Shisui.
"Sakura-chan~! Come play with us!" He called, not thinking much of what an odd pair it was to see the exuberant, troublemaker Shisui with the know-it-all Sakura. However Kiba gave them a puzzled look.
With a small wave at the group, Shisui trudged up the staircase towards his room. Between running around Hogsmeade, consoling an emotional girl, and that heavy box, he was feeling tired.
This was Shisui's first year as quidditch captain, he hoped he was going about things the right way. If word got out he was going to help Sakura, then people would call him out on favoritism. He probably could tell Naruto or Itachi to help Sakura, but oddly enough he didn't want to. He was looking forward to tomorrow.
What a funny girl.
With those final thoughts, the fifth year drifted off to sleep dreaming of flying around with a pink koala.
A/N: Thank you for reading! I thought a lot about what houses to sort everyone in (even the ones not mentioned yet), and honestly it was hard! I went with what I felt best suited them and my story. Comment what you think they ought to have been sorted in!
Also I am in love with the whole Harry Potter AU concept and it gave me so many ideas. I'm going to continue making one-shots in this same world with various characters.
As it has been YEARS since I last wrote, I would love your suggestions for improvement!
