Secrets
CS4560 asked for a oneshot of Emma being the one who's hit by the dreamshade.
"I want to have another baby." Snow blurted out. The ground shook for a moment before, suddenly, a small piece of the path to Neal formed in front of them. Snow was torn. On one hand, she was glad she had finally admitted it to herself and to Charming. On the other, she felt bad at saying it so bluntly in front of Emma. Clearly upset, Snow turned to face her daughter.
"Emma, I'm so sorry." Snow choked. She approached her daughter. "I need you to understand. Even if we do end up having another baby, that doesn't suddenly mean you're going to be pushed out…" Emma shook her head. Now was the time. She had to tell them now.
"It doesn't matter anyway." Emma said quietly. Snow blinked.
"Of course it matters Emma. We both know being abandoned is one of your biggest fears, whether you admit it or not." Snow told her. "That's why I need you to know you're never being abandoned by us again, new baby or not." Emma smiled sadly.
"You're not going to be the one doing the abandoning." She said. Snow and Charming looked at her, confused.
"What do you mean, Emma?" Charming asked her. Emma took a deep breath. She wasn't ready to admit this yet.
"A few days ago, one of those arrows laced with dreamshade caught me in the side." Emma explained. "I'm ok though." She said, seeing the look on her parents' faces. "W-uh- I found a cure." Emma said, omitting Hook's part in finding the cure, in fear her parents would get angry at him for keeping the secret as well. "But the cure will stop working as soon as I leave Neverland, so I can never leave. I'm trapped here forever." The ground shook again, more of the path appearing. Snow and Charming just looked at Emma in despair. Was this their family's fate? To forever be torn apart?
