The time set in this chapter is when Thalia and the other girls were plotting revenge.

Disclaimer: I don't own PJO.

Jason's POV

I was concerned for Annabeth, and Percy too. They were 2 of my best friends and one of them getting hurt was not okay. But I was also scared... Drew, Rachel, Khione and Reyna were serious. We're fucking 17 and 16! We're still kids! They were taking this break-up thing way too seriously.

When Thalia and the other girls went to a secluded place to have a little conversation (I was very suspicious about that...), us boys had a conversation of our own.

"It's pretty obvious we've underestimated them," I whispered. I don't know why I whispered, it just felt right.

"No shit, Sherlock!" Nico hissed, sarcastic as always.

I shot a look at him. "You know what I mean. I was thinking it was just going to be teasing in the hallways or something!" I retorted.

Frank sighed, "Me too."

"Same," Percy agreed.

"This is getting dangerous!" I said, my voice rising with each word.

"Should we contact someone? Like... the police?" Frank suggested.

"We don't have enough proof," Percy answered.

"What about the text Drew sent to Jason?" Nico countered.

"What about it? It's not enough," Percy insisted.

"What's not enough about 'You'll regret this' and then a fucking dagger emoji?" Nico was looking murderous by now.

"For all the police know, that could just be a bunch of kids playing around!" Percy answered, just as angry.

"Guys!" Frank interrupted their dispute.

Nico and Percy whipped around to glare at Frank, and Frank glared right back.

"Personally, I think Percy's right. The police really couldn't do anything about it going off a 3-word text message. We'd need more evidence," Frank explained calmly.

Nico fumed silently, then spun round to face me. "What about you?" He demanded. "What do you think?"

I looked around helplessly. "Nico, I... I mean- it's just that-"

"Oh, no! I understand!" Nico looked pretty furious.

"Death Breath, I'm not trying to disagree with you because you're you, I'm disagreeing with your point. The police won't take 12 teenagers seriously. Especially with, as Frank said, 'a 3-word text message'." I tried to explain myself.

Nico grunted, which I took as, 'Fine."

"I think the girls are doing something in there, knowing Thalia. There's no way she called a group meeting just to have tea and chat," I changed the subject before Nico altered his opinion.

"Definitely," Percy agreed and flashed me a grateful look.

"Should we try and get them to tell us?" Nico asked.

"I think we should try, but not push it. Like, ask a few times and if they don't tell us anything, just give up." Percy proposed.

"Yeah, yeah. I guess," Frank said half-heartedly.

"Something wrong?" I asked my friend.

"I don't think they'll tell us," Frank stated.

"Yeah, they probably have some kind of 'girl pact' or something," Nico snorted at his own joke.

"Hmm... probably," I mused quietly.

"As Percy said, we can ask, but no prying," Nico summed up.

We fell into a not-so-comfortable silence. The silence gave me a lot to think about. Did Drew, Rachel, Reyna and Khione actually believe we liked them? I thought it was fairly obvious to, well, everyone that our relationships were... not exactly enjoyable. I mean, yeah, Frank, Nico, Percy and I all forced smile on our faces, but was it really convincing? I didn't think so. Maybe the rest of the high school wanted to believe it was true. Cheerleaders and football players, together; four happy couples. I guess some people would envy that kind of couple. Just like in the movies. But I didn't want my life to be like a movie screen.

I've had this feeling ever since I started dating Piper. It's been all over social media, people judging all 8 of us. 'Superstars That Came Back To High School Start Dating Football Players'. No one cared when we hung out as friends before Piper, Annabeth, Hazel and Thalia became a band. It's only a big deal because they're famous. There are billion high school couples out there, and it doesn't matter, because they're not famous. Famous people are only human. Every move they make is watched, every emotion they have is judged and everyone they interact with becomes under the spotlight too.

But that's something I admire about Piper (and all the girls, I guess). She's constantly put on the spot; if I had that much on my shoulders, I'd crack. I'd never do it, I'd probably snap at people all the time. And now Piper and the other girls have been shoved into high school, which I don't even think the media knows about... yet. Damn. I was thinking much too hard.

I pulled myself out of my thoughts and looked around. I saw some solemn faces and suddenly loathed Reyna, Khione, Drew and Rachel. Why couldn't they just leave us the fuck alone? I'd bet that 9 out of 10 boys at our school would want to date on of those 4 devils, no matter their personality.

"Are you okay, Jason?" I heard Frank's voice call.

I realised my face had been twisted into a nasty scowl. "Yeah, just thinking."

Nico scoffed. "You must be thinking about something really dark, and that's my thing."

I made a face at him. "Have you ever thought about how much pressure the girls must feel? They need to try to satisfy their fans and critics, deal with school, us, find time to do things that they enjoy, worry about Reyna, Khione, Rachel and Drew and whatever else they have on their plates," I ranted.

Percy sighed. "Yeah. Sounds like being them sucks."

"Hey, man, being them doesn't suck! They get all this!" Nico gestured to his body.

Frank's eyes widened.

"Not like that!" Nico defended himself quickly.

"You guys are crazy," Frank concluded.

"Why, thank you," Nico did a little mock bow.

We finally fell back into a comfortable silence. And I fell back into my thoughts.

That was a pretty bad ending, but I couldn't end it in a particularly entertaining way.

In case you missed the A/N at the top and you're confused, the time set in this chapter is in the time Piper, Hazel, Annabeth and Thalia where plotting together.

Hope you enjoyed this chapter.
